  1. Hi, yes, they are. There are in total 5 motors except spike, PF was 5 motors except servo.
  2. LEGO 51515 Mindstorms Set August 2020 359,99 € www.stonewars.de
  3. Yes , I can confirm and use them, longer and more flexible. In this article about my functional fork lift you find some pictures https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/?entry=1&id=421586#id421586
  4. Hi, yes, that's all no problem, and you mentioned the most important things: rack, pinion, clutch. Here it is, without clutch! I built that as as small demonstration some months ago. But where ist the clutch (that I formerly used in all my models)? It's in the software. Set the motor to max power (not speed!) say about 20% and start it, let in run as long it returns back his speed(!). On the end, two things happen: Power cannot increase due the motor stalled, an motor as a sensor returns a speed of 0, then the programm stops the motor. And here you see it with a mechanical clutch (the white gear on the left motor at 0:40) But you need any program running.... Do have some programmable parts? Is it acceptable to have a smartdevice or PC running the programming while model in use? Or should it be "standalone"?
  5. Hi, 99455 is the LEGO Design ID, 45503 is the set containing only one part: 99455
  6. Sorry, I missunderstood. I was talking about "EV3 Classroom", the new software replacing "EV3 Lab". I was wondering why there should be a brandnew "EV3"-software (not even released for PC) without a product named "EV3" ;-)
  7. Interesting, I thought it was newly developed and launched in late 2019? No? They have the "normal" BT only? that's really strange. WiFi is missing as well. But the fact that you can't load the rechargeable battery outside the hub makes that whole product rather useless. That means for a continous work you don't need a second rechargeable battery but a second hub....
  8. This is the consumer set only. The questions are: will Mindstorms EV 3 be continued in the education section? (the new software "EV3 classroom" is already partly distributed for MAC OS Catalina, as I understood) Or will there be some new product in the category "mindstorms"? Education only? Customer as well?
  9. with the programmable systems like Powered up including Spike and Ev 3 with their tacho motors you can reduce gears or even don't need any gear box. in most of my models the modell is connected directly to the motor axle., no gears in between Which makes it very much easier to build and test the models. Just try it! Have fun!
  10. The "wait" can better be established in the evens, not in global code.
  11. I implemented the follwing in the global code, so I assume that could work with some script as well: System.Media.SoundPlayer player = new System.Media.SoundPlayer(); player.SoundLocation ="soundfile1.wav"; player.Play();
  12. I see! Nice idea! But then the arduino must be able to understand the complete LWP 3.0.0 (which might not be that difficult, I hope)
  13. Ups, sorry, missunderstood. What could be the purpose of such a construction?
  14. how true! *sigh*
  15. Here is the answer from the support team: "I've contacted the technical team, and it seems like the link is not at the moment available. It should appear on Tuesday or Monday. You should see this link on the website page regarding Powered UP and Power Functions. For the moment, we can only say that this app is going to be able to old Power Functions. Thank you so much for your patience. "
  16. Thanks, thats a good and useful program, I tried something quite similar, works fine as well. And yes, the green button is -hm- strange ?!? For LED color I use to indicate what train I'm driving.
  17. That is already done with Spike / Large hub and is promised for the small hubs as well. Of course to establish that it is important to configure the handset in the first step, which is done now. Putting the resident program as sthe fisrts step would heve been useless. Mindstormes is complytely different. The Smart device as in/out offers much more possibilities, have a look at the control+ Software.
  18. With LabView you could Press F1 on a Windows machine to get help, perhaps there is something similar?
  19. Hi, yes, thats what I tried to express. heres' a google translation from the LEGO website: The current version of the "EV3 Lab" software is not compatible with the upcoming Apple operating system version for Mac computers called "Catalina". We have therefore decided to replace the current "EV3 Lab" software and the EV3 programming app with a completely new app: LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Classroom. EV3 Classroom uses a programming language based on scratch. The app will be released for macOS in November 2019 and for iOS, Windows 10, Android and Chrome in spring 2020. EV3 Classroom will offer the same user experience with all functions on all devices. EV3 Classroom will initially be published in English. The remaining 15 languages in which EV3 is available will follow in spring 2020.
  20. Dind't find anything too. There are two scenarios: use the Color sensor as a sender with PF protocol use the Color sensor as a reciever of PF remote control Find the tiles in the violet section most right.
  21. This is not LabView as used in the PC-Version. Seems to be LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Classroom. More hinte on the Mindstorms education page.
  22. Hi all, Powered Up App V 3.1.0 is released in Google play Store: • We are introducing LPF1 support! Yes, you are now able to use your old Power Functions hardware with the Powered Up app. It is a bit techy, but we’re sure you’ll figure it out. Find more info on our website. • There’s more. We’re also introducing Handset support. You can now connect the handset remote and reprogram it while connected to the app. • Sound blocks now work with numeric input starting at zero. • We’ve also fixed some kinks in the connection center, and other small bugs. Just tested: 2Port-Hub, L motor, XL motor , handset. Pressing A+ increases speed +10. Or whaterver else you programm. Of course one motor can easily be reversed. Nice!
  23. I don't think this is an issue, my experiences are very good. I think the decviations are more mechanical. As already mentioned sensors are very useful for homing. But depending on the software you can use the motor itself as a sensor. I think LabView doesnt't offer an option to set the power (not speed!) of the motors, like PU does.
  24. Sorry, I missed that you saw this as an "option", my fault.
