  1. Hi, here is a link to my layout controlled by a raspberry, with a short video 2 locos, one remote decoupler in a waggon, crossing, 2 signals, 3 switches - and the minfig And Sound! fully automated Layout controlled by Raspberry Pi and the control Control I showed that last year at two exhibitions, four days in total. Worked fine! (except ampty batteries ....)
  2. Hi, as far a I know the program only runs on WIN10. It is not designed for exhibitions, as there is no feature to filter the devices, so you wold see all of the BT devices form other users around you. I've tried that on two exhibitions, and it wasn't succesful. The results are unpredictable. And with a programm in some box without any display you have no chance to control something in case of any unexpected situations (which are quite normal, think about empty batteries...) I recommend a microcontroller like a raspberry or similar, I' ve shown this as an example with a fully automated layout on some exhibitions.
  3. Hi, it could be built with PF or PoweredUp as well without any changes, just use it with the normal remote control then.
  4. Yes, as there is a sensor, but it is designed as a model to play with, also for visitors, so it is programmed but wasn't in use.
  5. There is nothing in the house execpt the mechanism as shown and the EV3 brick and its motors and sensors. It's not designed to be opened public.
  6. Hi @Zephyr261 there a pictures of the interior in my post, what do wan't to kow?
  7. Hi, i'm on the canvas with level of three bricks. And tht's exactly what I was looking for, thanks to all of you.
  8. the tracks in the station are too short, only three waggons allowed And yes, capstan ist handled by the remote control too, and you can load and unload whatever you like.
  9. To be honest - nothing to fix at all, and I often took the forklift up to show visitors the "mystery", most oft them assumed some magnetic solution. The only thing to be adjusted is the thread of the capstan, due to humidity or temperature Sure, and there is a (hidden) programm to return the vehicle to startpoint (in the house) and release the fork or a second to move to the waggon. But they never were used. The complete module (together with the Station "Steinbronn") is designed to be completly managed manually, all switchs and signals and crossing are moved by PF-Motor/Sbrick, but controlled by a PoweredUp Handheld. All three Locos were driven by PU or Boost motors, controlled by a PoweredUp Handheld or the PoweredUp-App (Batmobil-mode!) on a smartphone. And there is the turntable and the track which can be used by only one waggon to make things more difficult. So the mangement of a freight train with perhaps 3 waggons , while 3 others are standing in the station and have to be returnd, may take half an hour ....
  10. Hi all, here's my little forklift, driven by a mindstorms EV3. It' a module to play with, so there is no automatic function, forklist and capstan are handled via the EV3 remote control manually, the turntable is completely manual. The forklift and how it is set on the mechanism The red plates move it forward/backward, the 2 black round parts tilt the fork. The mechanism itself: You can see the two very thin plastic stripes which run between the large tiles The magnets you can see have nothing to do with moving, but only keep it on the floor when loaded. Here is the video (1:40): Have fun.
  11. Hi all, the topic is alredy the question: how to get the values from slider, button, joystick into a porgram? any ideas?
  12. Yes, that's what I meant, I forgot to give the name of the app in the first post, sorry, it is: LEGO® MINDSTORMS Education EV3
  13. Thanks, I use this already. But my questions concerns the app for tablets... LEGO® MINDSTORMS Education EV3
  14. The main questions are: Does it work fine? What FW-Version is needed?
  15. Hi all, did anybody test the EV3 App and knows what requirements it has? Thanks in advance.
  16. Hi all, have a look at the new PoweredUp components https://www.promobricks.de/lego-technic-control-vorgestellt-erste-bilder-neuen-motor-hub/81012 and the video from Henry: https://youtu.be/oHdQoFW-_ZY
  17. Hi, the number of channels per device is limited by the storage of the BT-Device, if this is a dongle you in many casas have app. 12
  18. Correct, that's why I did not understand why 3 channels per 4 persons should be delimited, as @Giottist proposed
  19. Hello @Giottist I agree. And I am grateful for his work. And it is not a question of foreseeing. We discussed this topic some months ago, and this is my feedback. I at that time proposed a list like 'allowed_MAC=[x1,x2,x3....]' in the global code. Another approach would be only to use the MAC-Adresses stored in the project, but with the disadvantage that you could never add a guest with his loco. Please be aware that you can hardly distiguish the Hubs, the ones I saw all were namend SBrick", except mine.... Why shold there be a limitation to 12 BT channels? We' are going to have an exhibition in June with railway layouts only, there'll be dozens of engines. I have a project here with 7 hubs. To sensors: yes, it works fine, one sensor and one motor. But if you change - on the fly - the connectors it reports the color in the log, but doen't trigger an event. Hi @Cosmik42, you provided the solution of disablig BT scanning, and I thought that would help, but then I can't attach my own devices. Your argument was that users should not struggle with MAC, and I agree that very much, your solution is simple and elegant, no doubt. But a lttle bit tricky if others are nearby Please note that I'm really glad to have such a powerful tool, I just wanted to share may experience in the wilderniss....
  20. Hello @Cosmik42 I was at BrickBits 2019 convention last weekend and had your software with me. As supected it was a complete desaster, starting the software I had up to six SBricks and some Smart Hubs in the panel within a second, none of them mine. Without blocking all MAC-Adresses expect my own you can't use it for that. At home that's no problem, of course. And without assigning names to the MAC-addresses you dont'n find the desired one. BTW: Sensors don't react as expected. Conneting to Port A and controlling a motor on Port B works. But: if you change connectors A and B on the hub this if reflected in the panel, log shows proper values, but it's never triggered.
  21. Thanks a lot, both work fine! I will show that all at BrickBits 2019 next week (EV3,Boos,PuP, Sbrick), so it's good to know that it works.
  22. Hi all, I'm really lost and hope someone can help me. Till the update I used the follwing command to use a WeDo-Motor on a Smart Hub (no.4) char-write-cmd 0x0e 0a0081PP016000VV0000 (with PP as Port and VV as speed) I hoped changing 60 to 51 would solve, but doesn't. Could anyone support me with the correct command, please? Thanks in advance.
  23. Hi @Cosmik42 just made an update on may both SmartHubs (No.4) and made some tests with 1.3 alpha, found no malfunctions. Thanks a lot.
  24. My experiences with the mindstorms software couldn't be better. Boost ist not a "kind of product", and none of the electronic compenents in the Set named "Boost" or other components are called "Boost" in any form. It's not that confusing if names are used properly. "Boost" is a Set, "MoveHub" is an electronic component, belonging to the PoweredUp-familiy (because of protocol and connectors), and it is contained in the Boost-Set, but it's never called Boost-Hub.
  25. Hi, Updatet what ? Windows or Boost? Windows is on 1803, for Boost you can't tell. I assume 1.8.x, but shown is still 1.7.1 Have a look at the other users on the Microsoft site.
