  1. These look great and more important (In my opinion atleast) they look LEGO-ish, those clips seem very useful, so many things you can attach
  2. Great entry, I particulary love the presentation, great job on the R2-suit
  3. To protect commerce against pirates
  4. Favored for their speed, these ships are often used as escort for trading vessels, to fight off pirates. they were produced in high numbers and sold all over. Alas, since pirates themselves have been using these the sale precautionary froze. You can still hire them along with a crew for escort. Designed and produced in Barqa, the great port city. Two samples of my invention are mounted on the forecastle, Sniper bows, they are more useful on a steady ground though, originally design to function on top of a watchtower. I'm considering building another ship, I'm not really satisfied with this one, I've done a lot better ones, a bit more modern though, ships with cannons and all. I'm not sure what technology is appropriate here, I saw some steampunk MOCs already, which makes it a small step to go for a steam-powered ship For this ship I followed one simple rule, no gunpowder. Still, cannons are less modern than steampowder
  5. I guess so, I can't help mentionning you know
  6. Great Idea, I'm not building a pirateship though, my ship is meant to patrol the Kaliphlin waters and prevent pirates to interrupt the peacefull trading
  7. Wow, so many entries, I tried to spread my points as much as I can, so hard to pick my favorites. I suppose that voting format is meant to make it easier to count the points which makes perfect sense, so many people voted already (I did it perfectly correct ). I noticed some people got my name wrong
  8. Thanks for the great welcome everybody, I 'm a bit late for the challenge but Il'l get my free build up in a few days
  9. What a coincidence, I just finished a ship very similar to yours, also a two-master built on small hull sections, it's a polacca (which looks a lot like a xebec) I even used ladders to cover the hold Anyway, I don't have much experience on Xebecs yet but this one might inspire you (link). (you can find more in the index btw).
  10. The shape is very nice, I'm not really font of the concentrated white, perhaps changing the color of the cannon hatches would help, keep it up. Eventhough I heard that it's historically accurate I will never have such picnic sheet in my ships Nice one.

  13. Although we had the same Idea, your entry certainly is unique, the Octan colors are a very nice touch. What's the capacity, 15 car spots I count What I find most amazing is, besides the elevator, the fact that you even added stairs Good luck!
  14. After a lot of thought and consideration I chose to enforce the Kaliphlin Guild. This is my sigfiggy: Sebeus I I'm quite a skilled swordsman but after the loss of my left arm I decided to leave the frontline and put my education to a better use, now I am officially stationed in the great port city of Barqa. I design ships of all kind, along with special addapted weaponry to mount on board (Currently exploring the possibility of metal ships and air ships in a secret port). To protect my brilliance I am accompanied by elite guards at all times, Entities outside of the Siccus Badlands would kidnap me or kill me as my designs manage to heavely influence the battlefield in Kaliphlin's advantage. I shall illustrate my devotion with a battleship to defend our seaside soon
  15. Very nice, I must say it looks a bit short for its width (And I don't say that a lot, most ships I see are too narrow IMO ) That doesn't mean I think you should make it longer though, perhaps, if possible, you could angle the walls a bit inwards (using hinge bricks), that would also solve the problme I think. The mast, rigging and sails look great, I like the battle top, very nice
  16. I had the exact same Idea once, flex tubes are a great tool but once you try to combine them with a brick-built structure it gets nasty, it looks very clean in LDD but I agree with Frank Brick Wright, there will be complications with stressed parts. I'm pretty convinced that LDD is not usefull for this building technique, you need to get yourself some real flex tubes and clip plates, trial and error is the way So far I only managed to produce shipwrecks with this technique (Click the picture for more pictures) I gave up on waterline models for this technique but I'd like seeing your progress, keep it up Btw, I named this technique organic ship-building, I see it as Polar style opposed to the traditional cartesian style.
  17. I was just checking out the pictures at flickr, when I saw the astromechs I kenw it would pop up here as well The ship is fantastic, the interior amazes me, great job!
  18. Very nice, it's funny how you call this regular I like the different modes
  19. Yes, something like that, nice I didn't even realize I would be able to make two decks below lower gun deck Eventhough I think I can make such ship steady enough to keep it in one piece I'll still make it in modular sections, I learned from my current ship that this is the only decent way for an accessible interior Actually it's very simple, originally meant as a temporary sollution, since it was so effective I kept it, here's a picture of how it's attached: When I first tried this I thought there was no way it would hold but reality prooved otherwise Well, that might be an issue, I based this ship entirely on the Black Pearl, because the pearl has this large overhanging cabin it doesn't look that bulky when complete. Since I abondoned the overhanging cabin she might look bulky indeed, always risky to deviate from the plan Oh well, if the ship doesn't turn out good atleast I learned a lot in the building process, the experience will help me on the next ship, for now I'll just focus on finishing this one.
  20. Thanks a lot, my sister gets really motivated by all these nice comments on her seals, more animals are on the way, I can hardly keep up with building suitable diorama's for them
  21. I tried a new stern design, for the moment it's not working out very well But I'm not giving up yet I lowered the upper deck by one brick, now the gun deck has a hight of 4 bricks +2 plates, I justify that by recalling a POTC scene on the Black Pearl being attacked by the Kraken. Anyway, this means a basic minifigure can stand up but not with high headgear (Skako, bi-/tricorner with plume). By altering the stern so dramatically I'm bound to let go of my original cabin Idea as well The colors are also a Issue, I hope this doesn't turn out to be a rainbow ship, the red railings, the yellow gun deck and the blue cabin ... It Might sound strange but I think it would be a lot easier to build a larger ship with this hull technique, If I ever make a ship-of-the-line there's a big chance I'll go for this type of hull. A cross-section similar to this but bigger perhaps (I want a 100 gun ship...atleast )
  22. I wish I thought of that Idea I love it although it might look awkward when combined with other modulars (the water). Very nice nonetheless
  23. I made this snow mobile a while ago, tweaked it a bit so it would make a realistic set and then I added this small bit of landscape. Mys sister made the seals. You can also support this at Cuusoo. At the back there's a crane and two solar panels which can fold inwards to protect them from icy winds when necessary. The doors open Delorean-style. equipment can be atached into the exterior pockets like ski's or backpacks. I also made a Jeep to go with the snow mobile, you might have seen it before in my Modular Madness contest entry. It's my most effective 5-wide car design as it can actually fit a minifigure (my other 5-wides don't). I hope you liked my first post in the Action themes forum Feel free to support, during the design I had Cuusoo in mind. More pictures can be found at mocpages.
  24. Then I was probably just very lucky, I got my first SES for €100 (complete and with the original box) and the second one for €90 (98% complete and along with a Renegade Runner). I did have the chance to buy a BSB for €150 but you see, when I have to choose between a SES for 100 and BSB for 150 it's simple
  25. There is a similar tread already (link) but that doesn't cover all the ships. EDIT: almost forgot, I really want a Black Seas Barracuda, I've always wanted that ship and I still don't have it. I do have two Skull's Eye Schooners, it seems they are easier to get at a decent price
