  1. This brings me back to 2013 with the pages of debate on the feasibility of a Minas Tirith D2C. It's a shame LOTR doesn't have the fanbase of HP, otherwise that might be able to come back too.
  2. Have there been any rumors about another DC D2C for 2019? I was going to order the Joker Manor next time there's double VIP points, but I'll wait if Lego discounts it to make room for the next one ala the Classic Batcave sales before the Manor came out.
  3. I assume if Lego was going to play catch up with anything DCEU related (or is it called Worlds of DC now, I'm confused about all that) it would be Wonder Woman, considering how much more successful her movie was than Lego probably expected. Comic Doomsday would be sweet though. The movie design was bland IMO, but the classic version with all the spikes, done as a bigfig? Totally dope.
  4. Official set description: Interesting that they specifically call it out as being based on BvS, even though the packaging isn't designed that way. And now we know what the build is: a turret.
  5. This is one of the strangest releases I've seen from Lego. Not complaining, because that Batman looks amazing, but everything about it seems odd. Wonder when it'll be on S@H.
  6. IMDb isn't known for being accurate when it comes to cast lists for unreleased movies. I guess only time will tell.
  7. Either the Lego movies are playing fast and loose with continuity (which reading that sentence out loud, sounds like the most likely answer) or TLM2 Harley will be the same voice but with the leather jacket and normal colored baseball bat, the most iconic parts of Suicide Squad Harley. Since technically we know through TLBM that Bale, Kilmer, West, Affleck, and all the different Batmen are part of Lego Batman.
  8. You mean like the Simpsons minifigs? I don't think that would look better. Just curious, which characters do you think need them the most? Personally, the one new mold I wish had been made was for Edna. That minifig doesn't do her justice.
  9. Now I'm wondering if this is the only set for December. Lego rarely just releases one standard set like this (outside of things like D2Cs obviously), so I don't think it would be too far-fetched to imagine one or two more sets. If they really wanted to drive home the "movie-tie-in but not technically" we could get another set with Miles.
  10. You might want to put your reply under spoiler tags too, it gives it away. Go in the bar above the text, where you see the bold and italics buttons, etc. Over to the right there's a picture of an eye. Click that to bring up a spoiler tag.
  11. Love the new set! Big Venom might be one of my favorite builds in the theme. Minifigures are great as well, really digging the updated Spider-Man.
  12. I got the Team Pack for a gift about six months ago. She's going for around $10 on Bricklink right now, so it might make more sense just to buy the set. Check Ebay or Best Buy's website.
  13. Pretty much all you would need to change is the head. Personally, I have her in my normal DC display just showing the demon face, because that doesn't have the cartoony eyes. I can't think of a normal head for her with the shadows. If you just want to have her head all white, the Spooky Girl CMF has a good head for that.
  14. But it doesn't need to be that rare. Most standard Lego sets are widely available, and even most of the exceptions (original Jurassic World sets, some Ideas sets, etc.) was because the demand was unexpected, and Lego made an effort to restock those sets. Lego sells well enough on its own, why do they need to give in to techniques used by other collectibles? You gave Pop figures as an example, but even those are for the most part more available to collectors. Taking a very specific example, black suit Spider-Man. It's probably the most iconic variant of Spidey that there is, and highly wanted by many longtime Marvel fans. Funko released him as a Walgreens exclusive. Now admittedly, Walgreens exclusives are an absolute pain to look for. But at least they were widely distributed. A good amount of Funko collectors eventually could find him, and even then he wasn't that expensive online, averaging around $30. I just checked eBay, the Lego version is going for over $400. Funko's other store exclusives, most often at Target, Hot Topic, and Barnes and Noble, are much easier to find. Even the way Funko does con exclusives is more collector friendly. Lots of their SDCC or NYCC exclusives get a limited release at Barnes and Noble, Hot Topic, and various websites. They're still rarer than the average product, and it still creates lots of hype around their booth, but much, much more accessible. Another thing about Funko is that usually they use only variants as their exclusives. There are some exceptions (Stan Lee comes to mind) but for the most part there is at least a normal version of the character for common sale. Vixen, Black Lightning, Phoenix, Spider-Woman (yes, the Bridge Battle version is a different character), Arsenal, Deadpool Duck, Batzarro, Collector and Atom have never had that. Green Arrow, Bizarro and Green Lantern were exclusive for years. Bizarro still has never gotten a "normal" minifigure. Shazam hopefully will get a release next year, but that's still six years after the SDCC version. What Lego could take out of Funko's book is offering these figures for a limited time online. Imagine the figures being GWPs during the Con. Even if the threshold was high, it would still provide access to many more fans and keep the hype up about SDCC. They would still be valuable, just not at the level they are now.
  15. I don't think Lego really cares about Ideas that much. Why would they want to prevent submissions? They can always deny a project if it really becomes an issue. This and Nightmare Before Christmas lead me to believe that Lego is looking further into the collectibles market with Brickheadz. Both NBC and Gravity Falls aren't super popular with their main target audience, but have huge cult followings online in an older demographic. It's very reminiscent of Funko's style to me. (Now, if only they'd take the Funko route of making con exclusives available at Barnes and Noble for a limited time...)
  16. That's a shame. I really wish she had taken the spot of batmerch Batgirl in the second series.
  17. The head printing looks off on that picture. I thought it was a bootleg at first.
  18. Not from here, but I remember a thread from the old Lego.com message boards that was just pages and pages of parents complaining about how Lego had lost their values by licensing the Simpsons. It was a treat to read through, I wonder if I can find it again.
  19. That wouldn't stop people from making a fuss about it. Remember when there was all the controversy because some people thought the 2012 Jabba's Palace set looked like a mosque?
  20. My thoughts exactly. The rest of the figure isn't that special, but that head looks really nice. It's a shame Lego is limiting Deadpool related stuff to SDCC now, with this year's figure and last year's. Maybe they think if they release him in a standard set parents will freak out?
  21. Yeah, you would think that would be a given seeing how two-packs started this year (at least in regular release) and AMATW's marketing focused so much on them being a pair. It's a shame.
  22. Glad to see you're back at it! These are great as always!
  23. $$$ It brings attention to the series and for people who can't feel the bags, entices them to buy a ton of them. I guess the real question is will Lego advertise Graves as a chase or not.
  24. I was, yeah. I was never sure which Avatar people were referring to when they talked about Year 3.
  25. With Ghostbusters, Simpsons, and Back to the Future all getting Brickheadz in 2018, all being part of Dimensions, and also the Aston Martin using the James Bond license, which was rumored for Year 3... I wonder if we could get Avatar Brickheadz? They were also rumored to be coming in Year 3. Depending on how far Lego got with that licensing, they might as well do something with it. Of course new Avatar sets would be a dream come true too, but I'm trying to think realistically.
