DC Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm shocked that the DC theme hasn't adopted the $10 mechs that are all over the Marvel line. You would think that would be a given. I think Batman, Cyborg, and Lex Luthor would make a decent lineup for a first wave. It truly is weird though seeing how DC has been treated the last few years. To me, it feels like DC used to get the preferential treatment until a few years ago when it completely flipped over to Marvel. Maybe the amount of R-rated content coming from DC is scaring Lego off? I honestly assumed the Pattinson movie was R until I saw the sets for it. -

Initially seeing all the sets together I assumed that the buildable Iron Man was the mech. It's weird that it's releasing at the same time as another Iron Man mech set. I almost like it? It's almost so bad that it's good. I really do like the gold Iron Man figure though. BP is okay, I wasn't planning on getting the QE set so it'll be a cheaper way to get that head. Wolverine looks downright bizarre without leg printing. The "Wolverine" branding on the mech is very curious. I hope that doesn't mean X-Men sets are getting the shaft in favor of Wolverine-centric sets. -

I finally got Loki from the CMF series, leading to the revelation that Throg has a little Thor helmet sculpted on the back of his head! Adorable. Also, is there a reason that White Vision's cape is the one-hole version instead of the standard two-hole? -
The future of Back to the Future

Good to hear that this is still in the cards, I was getting worried. A bit disappointing if it doesn't come with the wheels and tool box for the Part III model, but I guess that was to be expected after the D2C Ecto-1 didn't come with parts for the Ecto-1A. No minifigs doesn't surprise me but I do wish Lego took some cues from Playmobil's handling of the license. A CMF series would be amazing. Honestly, with Lego's tendency during the past two years to seemingly announce an adult-focused D2C every couple of weeks, I wouldn't be surprised for this theme to see a bit of a revival. I can almost picture in my head a D2C Hill Valley clock tower. -

The announcement of all of these shows does make me wonder how Lego is going to keep up while still doing sets for the films. Is Marvel CMF just going to become a yearly thing? Unless they start putting out a lot more Marvel sets per year, that's the only option I can think of... -

To me, what makes Janice an odd inclusion is that Animal is the only member of Electric Mayhem that's usually seen outside the context of the entire band. It's going to be weird to have her without Dr. Teeth or Zoot. Oh well, I'll hold out hope for a second series. Still very excited for the series as a whole. -
Super Mario 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

This a huge surprise! Luigi's Mansion is a series that never seems to get merchandise, I'm guessing the success of the third game has prompted Nintendo to flex the license a little more. Unfortunately it's still a little too interactive for my tastes, but I do think the buildable Professor E. Gadd is adorable. Crossing my fingers for a D2C mansion similar to the Home Alone set or the Joker Mansion from a few years ago. It makes me wonder how far into the extended Mario franchise this theme will go, since Luigi's Mansion is kind of a deep cut. I could see a stocky Wario figure being the next starter pack. -

Wow, seems like this really is the theme that won't die. It's a shame, I would love to round out the roster with characters like Mei, Orisa, and others, but given Activision/Blizzard's current standings I'm not sure I feel comfortable supporting products from them. To a larger extent, I wonder if TLG themselves would distance themselves from the theme if the federal proceedings continue. Apologies if this is considered off-topic, but given the situation I feel like it is a valid conversation regarding future of Overwatch itself and how that relates to the Lego theme. -
Any ideas for a Zemo minifig? Disappointed that he wasn't in the CMF series.

71033 LEGO Muppets CMF Series - Rumors & Discussion
BlueberryWaffles replied to Borex's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's not the exact version, but the standard Superman minifig could work for the Christopher Reeve episode. -
This looks like a fun set, very detailed. Interesting that it's an 18+ set that doesn't use the black background, maybe TLG is finally letting some of these sets use brighter colors? It definitely looks better with the white backdrop and I think that a number of other 18+ sets such as Sesame Street or Winnie the Pooh could have benefited from something similar. Also, is this the first time an official Lego product has shown torsos with hands removed?

This would be a dream come true for me if it's true. It's been on my mind fairly often since the reveal of the Sesame Street sets last year. A CMF series is not what I expected, but makes sense with all the new molds that would need to be made. As others have said, a large-scale Muppet Theatre D2C to go along with it would be amazing. -
So I guess that was for the apartment after all. When that piece first leaked I thought it could be for the rumored Peach's Castle, but now that the Mario D2C has been revealed as something else it makes sense that it's for the apartment. Never watched the show myself but I am curious to see the final product. I'm imagining something similar to the Seinfeld/Friends sets.

Not impressed. The mini dioramas are cute by themselves, but altogether it's a strange looking display. Definitely a pass at $170. -

After watching Shang-Chi, I'm a little disappointed in the sets that we did get. I get that this was a busy year for the theme, but there was a lot of beautiful architecture that could have translated well to sets. -

Not big on the D2C Tumbler. It honestly looks a little worse than the 2014 model when I look at them side by side. However, the minifigure scale one is a must-have for me. I've been waiting forever for an official model like that. What got me thinking is that these images dropped right as Lego announced that they are beginning to rerelease sets in new colors (the Creator dinosaurs and the Fiat). Wouldn't a great use of this practice be to rerelease these sets as camo Tumblers? They could even swap out Batman for his TDKR suit and Scarecrow/Joker for Bane or even Lucius Fox. Still surprised that there hasn't been a D2C 1966 Batmobile, I would have thought that would be an obvious choice even before the 1989 vehicles. Guess we'll wait and see on that one. WIth how many variations of the Batmobile there are throughout media, this could easily become a long-running annual tradition. As others have mentioned, the BvS Batmobile would be great as I'm personally a big fan of the design but I'm not sure how popular it is in the grand scheme of things. Extra enticing if they included alternate parts to build on the guns so that it could be swapped between the Justice League and BvS versions. As far as what minifigures would be included, I think Batman and Jeremy Irons's Alfred would make a good pair. -

Usually I would doubt Midnight Suns getting any reference from Lego, but given that last year's sets took a lot of inspiration from the Square Enix game I could see some black and gold colored Avengers showing up in sets. -

After watching today's What If episode, I really wish we would have gotten a minifig of (EPISODE 3 SPOILERS) Would have been a really neat design, but I understand if Marvel wanted to avoid merch of that character to keep the surprise. Maybe in a future wave? -

Name discussion aside, I'm surprised at how small 75312 is compared to previous versions. It seems like a much larger compromise than the X-Wing, TIE fighter, or Imperial Shuttle have been compared to their previous sets. Glad I got the 2019 model, but might Bricklink the new Boba design. -

Somehow I had it in my head that the Cap vs. Hydra set was based on TFA, I guess that's not the case looking at the Hydra agent. The closest resemblance to the outfit would be the AoU Hydra soldiers unless it's just a comics/Square Enix set? -

I'm actually pretty tempted by a new Tumbler as I didn't get the 2014 version, but I'm still surprised that this was their choice. I assumed the next UCS scale Bat-vehicle would be the 1966 Batmobile given how iconic it is. -

Sorry if this has been covered before in the thread. Is the small S@H exclusive set with Falcon, Black Widow, and the AIM agents retired? I just ordered the FFH museum set and the new Iron Venom/pig Venom pack last night with my SW sets, but the Falcon/Widow set has been sold out for weeks. Is it gone for good?
