  1. Yeah, I got the drivers from that page, the previous versions from here, LDD worked with major issues on 8.10, 8.11 and 8.12 of those. Driver information from Catalyst Control Center: The operating system is Windows XP Home Edition, with the latest Service Pack (SP 3). Since my computer is custom built, here's the system information from DxDiag: Is there any more information I should post?
  2. Added that line in, same thing happens. I'm also guessing towards a card and/or driver problem, since it did work before but not since the update. I might try to work through all the remaining driver versions to see if one works, so far I started with the oldest available version and worked my way upwards from there, up to the first one where LDD stopped working. Maybe one of the newer ones will do the trick. EDIT: Found a driver version where LDD works with Compatibility Mode on 100.
  3. Hey Superkalle, thanks for the quick answer. I checked the preferences.ini and set setUseShadersInScene and UseShadersInPalette both to "no", the problem still occurs. Also, what I forgot in the first post: Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no change.
  4. Since Lego's own online support and help for LDD is not particularly extensive and partially outdated, I decided to ask for help here. I would be grateful for any help. First and foremost, I've got LDD 4 installed on a Windows computer. My problem is that upon clicking the LDD shortcut on the desktop or LDD.exe itself , absolutely nothing happens. The "loading" cursor (hourglass) appears for a second or so, then the cursor goes back to normal and that's all. The obvious answer would be upgrading the video card drivers, but that's the strangest thing. After I had a new video card fitted a while ago (ATI Radeon HD 3650), LDD worked just fine. Since I upgraded the drivers to the newest version recently, the aforementioned problem occurs. I have tried some older driver versions, but on those LDD runs only with some major, mostly graphical, issues (very slow, flashing screen, etc...) and is virtually unusable. My question is then, does anybody have an idea why this problem occurs or even how it can be solved? Thank you in advance.
  5. I remember there was a thread about this a while ago, and someone linked to this MOC on Brickshelf. Seems like a lot of work, but looks great.
  6. Nice review, but I'm impartial about the set. I own the motorized version and I'e modified it for greater accuracy, so I'm most likely not getting this set, on the other hand, it does look pretty nice and comes with a lot of figures. Comparison shots with anything (not necessarily another AT-AT) would be greatly appreciated. Somehow this one seems smaller to me than the other versions.
  7. I can't really imagine any adults liking Ahsoka for reasons other than... things I couldn't mention here without getting banned... But really, shouldn't they have known she is completely incompetent after she lost a complete fighter squadron in the assault on Ryloth? No, it seems nobody learned from that... She is given command again. Did she promise to do better? I bet she did. And did she stick to that? Of course not. Some people just never learn.
  8. Good to see this thread again. Great reviews so far, and I#m very much looking forward to the later episodes I haven't seen (yet). On the specific episodes: Holocron Heist: Pretty good, but with some flaws. Once again, we saw why a fourteen-year old shouldn't be in command of any sort of military unit, even if she's a Jedi. And the Juggernaut was seriously underpowered. One E-Web-sized blaster and the damage resistance of a cardboard box? Not really the enormous, scary monster that Episode III showed us... Cargo Of Doom: Also quite good, some very original ideas and a cool Cad Bane. Apart from that though...
  9. Very cool MOC, the details on the buildings are nicely done. Looking forward to more, and I must say, you have chosen the district of Coruscant that has the nicest architecture.
  10. Very nice MOC, very easily recognizable as Battlefront. The health and ammo canisters and the shape of the turret are nicely done. And, I must say, I know the pain, Rebels can be very annoying in BF. Turrets though are a fun thing for snipers, making enemies immobile.
  11. A new look? Why do all my favourite websites have to update to a completely new look recently? So here's my thoughts: Personal complaints (minor rant): Personally, I hate the new look, at least for now. Too flashy and too generic, it looks like it was designed to be "modern" and "stylish" and ends up looking like a bad fake of what Eurobricks was. To me, the "user control" box blocking out part of the banner is completely unnecessary and the overly large boxes for topics/subforums in the overview pages make the forum, to use a term often seen in describing Lego sets, <insert that tiresome argument>. And I feel like I have read the explanation "it's a feature!" far too often in this thread. Even if I will eventually get used to the new look, I am not sure whether I look forward to that time. Now, more serious complaints: The overviews could be a bit smaller, the forum index feels like it is at least twice as long as it was. Also, all forum sections seem to have lost their unique little icons for New Replies/Hot Topic/Poll/etc and pinned topics don't really stand out as much as they probably should. Finally good stuff, yes I have to admit there is some: The new reply window is good, even if it looks much different. Smilies and bold/italics being actually shown when writing the post are also positive. So in total, I have very negative feelings about this new look. I understand it was a necessary step, but I still don't like it. So, that was my complaining for today. Sorry.
  12. I might even enter, if I can think of a good scene and actually build it. Will probably go for the smallest category, but still, worth a try nonetheless... Is there any restriction on the scale, do the entries have to be minifig scale or is microscale permitted?
  13. Great picture, fenris, the posing is spot on. And smokebelch, if you think zombies and Star Wars doesn't mix well, here's something for you. I haven't read it, but it sounds promising and the concept alone is pretty good.
  14. Wonderful MOC, I absolutely love it. While I am not usually interested in Technic creations, but large vehicles with amazing functions like this one always get me. I am totally fascinated. I guess I should invest in PF and try building a tank or something.
  15. I've been following this thread silently for a while, and I must say, there has been a lot of very nice pictures here. Recently, inspiration struck me again and so I took a few photos again. Imperial troops, backgrounds I happened to find and weird light. Plus some unusual formats. Quite hard to see, but there is actually a second minifig behind this guy.
  16. Wonderful aircraft. I always liked WWII aircraft of all sorts, but they are devilishly hard to build out of Lego. This is great though, beautiful camo and lovely radar antennae.
  17. Glad I can be in this time. Here´s a picture: That's normal tan hair, flesh-coloured Han Solo head, torso from the Adventurers villain, fleshy hands and dark blue legs (hip piece in this picture is from Han Solo, but that's not required, any dark blue will do). Thanks so much in advance!
  18. Nice review, even though the set's a bit... well, meh. The size of the wheels compared to the body is better than on the old one, the axles are way too skinny, the figs are pretty good, but the model itself is very much built like the previous version. I don't think I'll get this one, maybe if it's on sale.
  19. Wow, great train, the functions are wonderful and the appearance would probably blend seamlessly with modern rail traffic.
  20. Very nice picture and a good workaround for the bantha as well. I guess that's a young bantha, being pretty small and having not-so-curly horns.
  21. Very cool pictures, smokebelch, sandy beaches are definitely a nice thing to have around, unless it's windy of course. I've been meaning to upload a pic or to here for weeks, but my problem at the moment is that I totally lack inspiration. I would like to take some shots again, the weather is wonderful, but I have no idea what to photograph. I guess I'll just pick a bunch of random figs and see what I can come up with.
  22. Very nice review of a rather interesting set. I got the Sandcrawler years ago and always liked it, despite the rather bland interior and slightly off shape. Although the modding possibilities being probably endless, the only thing I ever did was slightly rebuilding the cockpit section to place the trans-yellow bricks on the outside (I didn't apply any stickers to this set) and adding a "box" on the inside to cover the steering mechanism. It easily gets jammed when droids fall into it.
  23. Very impressive and also a good way to make a display more interesting, with the stand being a cool little diorama like that. The details on the base are really neat, I love how those birds are completely unimpressed by the Clonetroopers bustling around and a spaceship blasting along overhead. I see that the girder the ship rests on is slightly angled backwards. Any chance of seeing how you mounted it? This design is so good, I might try to adapt it for my ARC-170.
  24. Truly an epic review. It really shows how much you like that set. It may not fit in with the modern standards, but judging from what I can see from your review, it is still a great set to base a Lego collection on. Thanks also for the Thunderbirds and Top Gear references, that made my day.
  25. Wow. Very nice. The AT-AT is (in my opinion at least) one of the most impressive and memorable vehicles from the Star Wars films and this model sure does it justice. The USC sign is nicely done as well. Also, clever way to find out the piece number.
