  1. Beginning Training | Dragonfire | Mitgardia Don't Fall Off! | Dragonfire | Mitgardia
  2. My first two AoM builds. I'm working on a storyline which will hopefully tie into the next Challenge in Nocturnus, which involves my character being abducted by the Black Spire, and some other Mitgardians going to free him.
  3. The journey across Historica to Nocturnus was going to be a long one. Therefore, it was necessary for the entire army to be able to ride, and ride well. Crynis tasked Horsemaster Ulf with training each new recruit in basic horsemanship. The recruits were led into the muddy farmyard one by one, and assigned a horse. Ulf deliberately gave his pupils easy horses to start with, then more difficult ones. One new recuit who particularly stood out was a young farmer named Detlan, who took to riding like a duck to water. With a canny smile on his face, Ulf assigned him the most difficult horse of them all, a black stallion who was known for his many tricks. Poor Detlan was in for a shock! [ C & C welcome ]

  5. The Mitgardian county of Stormhold was in turmoil. Following the mysterious disappearance of its ruler, Berelan Gryffen, three months ago, the land had quickly fallen into disarray. Mountain bandits and orc clans had begun to raid the villages and there were even reports of Drow in the area. Fear spread among the local people and many considered emigration to other areas of the guild. Crynis Elchafron, Berelan's old friend and trusted ally, finally returned from a scouting mission to report the bad news that Berelan had been abducted by a Drow nobleman, Lord Ravenshelm, and was en route to Nocturnus with an armed guard of Drow and Order of the Dragon soldiers. She had been unable to act on her own, but she was determined to somehow save him. Through messenger birds, she established contact with the Nocturnian Resistance against the Black Spire and its leaders, and pledged her support for the cause. Then the training began. The issue was, Stormhold was a small county of Mitgardia with a fighting force of less than sixty soldiers. When Crynis began recruiting for her army, almost two hundred and fifty hopefuls enlisted, but unfortunately most of them were peasants with little to no fighting skills whatsoever. Help came unexpectedly. A band of northeners arrived in the county one day, having been driven south by the Algus menace. They numbered about forty-five, but were fierce fighters, trained to survive the harshest conditions and willing to act as mercenaries for the small army that was gradually forming. To begin with, each hopeful was assigned to a brief one-on-one sparring session with one of the mercenaries or militiamen, using stout wooden staves as weapons. Crynis herself personally observed each bout to assess whether or not the man had any potential whatsoever. She was currently watching a young peasant, Bjorn by name, face off against a seasoned mercenary, Wilhelm. Bjorn showed some promise, but stood no chance against the experienced soldier. Still, this was only the beginning. And great things can come of small beginnings. [ Sorry for the lengthy backstory. C & C welcome ]
  6. Great I was in the middle of building an entry
  7. Avalanche looks up to see the vampire, "By all means, you're welcome to join us," he gestures to an empty space next to Lind on the bench.
  8. Thanks, sorry I should have known. Won't do it again.
  9. When is the Cat. C deadline?
  10. Great build, and thanks for the cameo too! The logo is excellent!
  11. AoE = Area-of-Effect damage. Damage which affects multiple enemies at once (eg. Barbarian's Frenzy Special targets all enemies, so causes AoE damage.)
  12. Avalanche wonders why the mystic knight is ten times the size of a normal minifigure, but concludes that Heroica has... changed a lot since he left.
  13. Yeah, we're all having a lot of fun on the dead-board right now
  14. Bob, can you please change my picture in the Planets & Players index to this one?
  15. To quote Dragonator, from the frontpage. "During the past four years, the city of Eubric Freeport has been in turmoil as seven powerful factions struggled to gain the upper hand. In the midst of it all, Heroica, a fabled organisation of would be heroes and heroines, has risen to new-found glory as its members have eliminated fearsome monsters, reconciled wars, uncovered conspiracies and saved the whole world at least half a dozen times. But while Heroica has been busy saving the day, the founder of the notorious Wolfgang, Ulric Wolfkin, has gained the support of the common folk to become the first King of Eubric. The other six houses scramble to make alliances of their own, dividing the city and its residents further. Like the rest of Eubric, heroes and heroines of Heroica have to choose their side in determining the future of the city. What side will you choose?"
  16. Avalanche nods to Thalion, "Aye, it's been a while. And as for confusing the young knight, I haven't set foot in Heroica for a year. A lot of things may have passed since then." "Somehow I doubt that you'd get along with young Master Ziegfried," comments Avalanche with a slight grin.
  17. When the Fourth Anniversary got frontpaged, it said that Ulric had become "King of Eubric". Did that happen on one of the quests or what? And I'm looking forward to the Clash of Houses - hopefully it will be another Heroica-Mafia crossbreed like CAT
  18. Avalanche, hearing Lind's comment, makes his way over to his table and replies, "It's simple. Just write a letter, address it to someone and say 'I've got Z-Mail!' and then the letter will automatically be sent to the recipient." Avalanche is slightly worried at Torald's continued insistence to buy everyone ale. He wonders exactly how drunk the barbarian is...
  19. Well I'm probably going to go Raider when I hit Level 15
  20. Avalanche leans back and listens to the heroes' conversation. He remembers Thalion from a long-ago quest but decides not to say hello in case the stories of his... untimely departure from Heroica got around.
  21. Avalanche extends a paw, "I don't believe we've met. I'm Avalanche," he introduces himself, "As for news, a new quest just opened, and there's also the Fields of Glory..."
  22. Avalanche turns around from the questboard and sees a rather strange-looking winged fellow standing there, "I'm sorry? What do you mean?"
  23. Flipz, how long do you expect 141 to be? A couple of weeks, or are we talking months? I just want to decide whether or not to sign up for it.
