  4. Thanks for playing, Tariq j, mediumsnowman and Piratedave84 I think you should read Ragnarok 3 Day Seven. Funnily enough, it was Tariq j's character who did this in Ragnarok too medium was totally within his rights to post that, because it was clear that his character was dead. He technically died in the 'day', not the night like Dave did.
  5. From the writings of Trystane Adeus We dragged the two bodies outside Cresthaven's walls and left them where the Drakenguard could find them. General Avrel knew that Lord Drakensyne, for all his faults, valued his men highly; the Drakenguard would come to collect the bodies of any assassins they found. We knew that if the bodies were still there the next morning, then they were those of loyal villagers... Klaer Messell was on a self-assigned mission in the mountains near Cresthaven. Disillusioned about the 'witch-hunt' that was going on inside the village, she had resolved to seek out the Drakenguard camp herself and do a bit of her own espionage to discover who had betrayed them. Suddenly, as she rounded a corner, she became aware of a dark figure standing before her. Although it was dressed from head to toe in black, something about the way it stood and moved made it obvious to Klaer who this figure was. Here, at last, she had found a traitor! "You..." she began to say, but as she spoke, the dark figure unsheathed a shortsword and went for her. But the village blacksmith was no defenceless peasant. She blocked the blow with axe and sword, and a desperate, silent battle ensued... Klaer knocked the sword out of the dark figure's hand and raised her own blade to its throat... but the figure only laughed. It was then that Klaer felt a burning pain from a cut on her leg, and realised that the assassin's sword had been poisoned. The poison did its work swiftly - as the blacksmith's legs gave way underneath her and she fell to the ground, the dark figure leapt on her and finished what it had started... The next morning, a sombre crowd gathered around the sprawled body at the foot of the cliffs. It was without doubt that Klaer had been a Loyal Townie, and the surviving villagers mourned her loss (well, at least most of them!), blaming themselves for what had happened General Avrel's face was drawn. He announced that he had gone into the woods at first light, and had found both bodies still lying on the ground. They were also Loyal Townies. With a strained voice, he implored the town to find and kill these assassins before they claimed another life... 6. From the writings of Trystane Adeus After a day of deliberation and accusations, matters came to a head. The villagers decided to take things into their own hands and formed a mob, bristling with makeshift weapons. They converged on Corporal Banning, having selected him as their 'suspect'. Mass hysteria and high tensions had turned them from peaceable villagers into a blood-hungry lynch mob... Banning tried desperately to defend himself, asking why he would betray those he was meant to protect. He was growing angrier every minute, and so was the crowd... Then it happened. Mairn Upswich, the town drunk, stepped forward and clouted Banning across the head with his bottle, causing bloody wounds on the corporal's face. It was then that the corporal snapped. He was known for his violent battle rages, but this time it was worse. He simply lunged for Mairn, his face contorted into a raging scream and a strange roaring sound emanating from his mouth. Before anyone could stop him, he thrust his sword into the screaming drunkard's body, then yanked it out and thrust again, roaring all the while... Berdam Blost, the faithful innkeeper, was the first to react. In a desperate but futile attempt to save his best customer, he brought a pickaxe down on Banning's head, cutting off the roaring. That ruffian Glanred, rushing over, launched himself into the carnage with his axe flying. Soon all the villagers were embroiled in the savage bloodbath... A few minutes later, the carnage simply stopped. Shocked and dumbfounded as to what they had just done, the villagers gradually withdrew, their weapons hanging limply from their hands. But two blood-soaked bodies remained on the ground - these became known as the second and third casualties of the Cresthaven Incident (as it was later referred to). The deadly 'game' of espionage and betrayal had begun to claim lives... Keep sending in those night actions!

  15. From the writings of Trystane Adeus It wasn't long before we became aware of the plot against the King. The day after the Drakenguard withdrew and we were burying our dead and recovering from the assault, General Avrel discovered the first of the assassins. Norbert, the village headman: a stout, likeable fellow who seemed like the last person who would betray us. We had no judge, no jury, but we brought him before the King for judgement... Norbert was not only unrepentant, he seemed almost proud of his actions. He publicly denounced the King as a tyrant and a coward, and laughed in our faces, jeering that it didn't matter that he had been caught - that there were more assassins, that they wouldn't stop until the King was dead, and that we were all doomed for supporting him. The King, shocked and white-faced, was about to open his mouth when Norbert moved like a streak of lightning. He knocked a nearby barrel over, grabbed a knife underneath it and lunged for King Rustus. Luckily the General got to him before he could reach the King... As Fitzwilliam dragged the body away, we realised that someone must have left the dagger under the barrel on purpose. It was obvious that he wasn't working alone, and now a dark fog of suspicion and uncertainty began to descend on all our heads. Nobody, not even the King's own soldiers and advisers, was above suspicion, and as the hours drew on, we began to turn on another.... General Avrel was the last person to speak before we all returned to our watch positions, "Listen. These are troubled times, and I understand you're all feeling angry, scared and uncertain. But I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better. There are spies - assassins - among us, and if we do not root them out then we will all die. Every one of us, and with us the Kingdom itself. So I want a suspect by sundown." And with that, he turned and left, cloak swirling around himself. The deadly witch-hunt had begun. 18. Anyone can post in this thread, but players are required to, at least once, to confirm that they are playing. Once everyone has confirmed, the game can begin! Players, please make sure you read the rules as well (there are a few different ones). While the battle for Cresthaven raged, nearby, in the shadows of a broad oak tree, a furtive conversation was being held.... "Lord Drakensyne. I have done as you bid me. The spies and agents that I bribed and threatened into working for us have been given their mission. Victory is within our grasp - though the walls of Cresthaven are strong and well-defended, the town will fall from within. And with it, King Rustus himself!" "Spymaster... I hope you have done your duty well. Only time will tell how effective these assassins will prove to be. For the time being, call off the attack. There's no sense in wasting men's lives when their own people can do it for us!" 21. She may well be Madame Kawashita's niece. By the way, that mutant/alien is meant to be a different alien every time, just saying
  22. Location: F09 Arium Minor Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Mission Log: Entry 20 ~ After receiving the transmission from Agent Kytes, Ekira and I took my Y-Class Shuttle off Arium Major to rendezvous with the reinforcements. Their leader, an experienced military commander named Captain Askarn, informed us that the vessel containing the mutant, its cohorts and the Octan prisoners had recently landed on the neighbouring planet of Arium Minor. There was no time to lose. Askarn, Kytes and I took the first transport down to the barren, rocky surface of Arium Minor, where we were assigned a Rough-Terrain Tri-Bike (RTTB) for ease of movement. We set off immediately... It wasn't long before we received results. A transmission came in from a Chocho rapid-response unit five miles away. We may call them Chocho, but a butterfly is the last thing they resemble. They're tall, quick and dangerous. This one reported that it had secured an unknown species of alien which both resembled our missing mutant and the creature we had killed on Arium Major. We headed to the location it described. An unfamiliar, and extremely attractive young woman dressed in Kawashita red and wearing a face-mask greeted us as we approached the robot and its prey. As we drew nearer, Captain Askarn whispered in my ear that this woman was Akiko Kawashita, great-niece to Osamu Kawashita himself and a member of the ruling family of our corporation. I later learned that she had been assigned to this mission as a test of her weapons capabilities and field skills. Sure enough, the Chocho unit had a sedated, chained mutant in its grasp; even more worryingly, its garb told us that this was not the one we sought, but a second lookalike. Could the mutation be spreading.... or had we stumbled upon a new species of alien entirely? The cast: The Chocho rapid-response unit: The RTTB: C&C welcome!
