  1. That would be my favourite too
  2. Thanks, both of you
  3. Avalanche ponders this for a moment, "If the villagers aren't going to fight outright, they need to help build the defenses. Let's muster a group of them to start construction on the barricades."
  4. Nobody's part of Hydra...yet And who knows, Hydra might be the Town in this instance, and SHIELD the scum
  5. As a vig he wouldn't randomly kill unless he actually finds me scummy. SK... yeah, you have a point there If I get killed, everyone will know my alignment anyway
  6. But then if I get nightkilled, we'll all know you're scum
  7. I absolutely agree. This and the scout speeder from the Endor battle pack are a lot better than the other assortment of quickly disassembled vehicles
  8. He's only half Duros Actually, I'll edit the build description to include that, sorry if it was unclear before.
  9. Please transfer 33 credits to EpsilonEta.
  10. Can you put me at the very bottom of the list? I don't know how much time I'll have so I don't want to take anyone's space.
  11. How long is this game expected to last? I won't be able to play if it goes beyond about a month and a half...
  12. "I don't mean swords. I mean any weapon - any makeshift weapon they have to hand - wooden staves, pitchforks, knives...Let's see what the others think. Warlen, Calamity? Any opinions?" Avalanche nods in agreement, "Whatever we do about the villagers, we must first get these four properly trained."
  13. Thanks It's not really a base, more the back alley/slum of a larger complex. I'm sure I'll make some kind of base at some point though
  14. Rathan Verdamore, half-Duros and goodness knows what else, was a pragmatic sort of fellow, the kind of person who would walk into a bar and deliberately refuse drinks while everyone else around him became too inebriated to stand. He would then either rob them blind or proceed to swindle them out of everything they owned. That was how he operated for several years, a smuggler, thief and general villain lurking in the back streets and alleyways of Coruscant. Until, that is, one of his acquaintances made the mistake of selecting an off-duty minor Imperial officer as their target for robbery - an event which led to the officer's death. Undaunted, Verdamore turned in his erstwhile accomplice to the Imperials for the reward - but he did not expect to be paid by way of employment as a bounty hunter. Promising him substantial pay and issuing him with the newest weapons and technology in addition to a lengthy kill list of targets, they sent him off on his way. Verdamore had escaped death by the skin of his feet. Now a new, exciting but dangerous profession awaited him. The Rodian smuggler had been running all afternoon. A petty criminal who'd committed the fatal error of first hijacking an Imperial shuttle and then not bothering to cover his tracks, he'd landed on Tatooine and fled into the desert, taking his earnings with him. Of course, he'd been forced to leave such earnings behind hours ago, as soon as he saw the dark, slender shape of Verdamore's modified blaster rifle poking over the horizon. And now there was nowhere left to run. The desert was giving way to the back alleys and slums of an Imperial outpost which had grown into a small city, and the Rodian was out of breath. Exhausted, he'd slumped down behind a piece of broken machinery and waited, hoping that Verdamore would foolishly assume he'd run on, and walk right past his hiding place. The smuggler's finger was on his trigger - he wouldn't be taking any chances.... But now he made his second fatal error in as many days - and the one which would cost him his life. Glancing out, he saw the tall, blue-skinned figure of his pursuer surveying the horizon, squinting somewhere into the dark alleys and completely passing the Rodian's hiding place over. Seeing his opportunity, the smuggler stuck his head out of his refuge and took aim at the approaching bounty hunter... Of course, this was just what Rathan Verdamore had been waiting for; his earlier behaviour had been a ruse. He sighted, aimed and fired in a matter of seconds. Seeing his target fall, Verdamore approached cautiously, half expecting the Rodian to make a grab for its blaster. But its eyes were open and glassy, and blood pooled on the ground where it lay. He would be well paid for this... very well paid indeed. The scene, sans minifigures. View from above to prove its size (16 x 32 baseplate) [ C & C welcome! ]
  15. "I'm not saying we turn them into warriors. I'm saying we give them all basic training and simple weapons so that they can defend themselves, their homes and their families when the bandits arrive. With these four, it's more about taking their skills and developing them so that they're a properly trained militia. I hope the villagers won't have to fight, but we don't know exactly how many and how skilled these bandits are. We may or may not need the villagers themselves, and it's better to be safe than sorry."
  16. Location: B06 Sorn Tags: Exploration, Land Vehicle Mission Log : Entry 22 ~ When my vision returned, it was hazy, and everything seemed to shimmer and twist before my eyes. I saw a derelict grey wall, and sand... lots of sand. And then the mutant raising its axe to end my life. I didn't think. My blaster was already in my hand before its axe could descend. Two quick shots, that was it. I heard shouting and blaster fire, and saw Akiko, Captain Askarn and one of the troopers pinned down by a band of .... strange people- things. Some were mutants, and I recognised the mutant who'd killed Agent Sharpe among them. Others were tattooed, scantily clad humans with strange, glowing red eyes, brandishing makeshift spears, blades and guns. I struggled to get up, feeling a sudden, sharp pain in my shoulder. Looking up, I saw one of the strange humans with a blaster aimed in my direction. The pain was so great that I couldn't stand, so I decided to play dead for the time being... Then a shot rang out. The leader of the cultists fell, dead, as the rest of the Kawashita platoon charged over the sandy horizon, equipped with a small walker with medium gunpower. A fierce battle ensued... One of the troopers cut the Octan prisoners loose with his sai dagger. Meanwhile, the three trapped behind the machinery broke cover and returned fire, engaging the mutants and cultists on a second front. The battle was over within minutes. We'd taken one casualty - a young trooper who'd received a sword wound to the stomach. Concerned faces swum into my field of vision as my wound was inspected and I was eased into a seated position. The dying trooper, as per Kawashita custom, was given his sword to hold onto as he died - nobody is sure how this particular ritual came about. I later learned that we'd somehow come through a gravitational anomaly - a wormhole in space - and both our quarry and us had emerged on the planet Sorn, on the eastern frontier of Kawashita space. But we were alone, with no communications - and two grateful but prickly Octan employees to take care of. Oh - and the original mutant wasn't among the dead, somehow. He'd got away. [ C & C welcome!]
  17. Query: can we have two bounty hunters working together / a bounty hunter and a sidekick?
  18. After one game? Things definitely look promising for the future of Mafia... When I sent Dragonator a PM about hosting (at the start of February), Bob's game in May was the next scheduled. Hopefully someone will host one before that.
  19. Avalanche nods in approval, standing shoulder to shoulder with the party leader. He realises what a momentous task they've taken on, but this only strengthens his resolve to complete it.
