  1. Unfortunately while the helmet is technically full size, it was just slightly too small to fit on my head. Though I did try You can hold both the sword and shield, but neither are very study. I would need to do a lot more work to get them field ready
  2. I think this sums up the general sentiment well. Most of us are fine with the set. It looks good for what it is. It's just not worthy of the $1000 price tag. Thanks for including a picture of the old Death Star next to the new. It's crazy that the new is almost double the height. I thought we were getting a bad deal till I saw the Pikachu. The Megablocks version looks better.
  3. Built for the Summer Joust 2025 Still Life category I made a life-size sword, shield and helmet. I was very honored to get mentioned by @Kai NRG in this month's Blocks magazine. Here are some closer shots of each item. And here's how I built the helmet: Thanks for looking!
  4. For yourself and all other posters, if you're posting what you think or guess sets might be please clarify that in your post. Too many fake rumors have started because EB users post a wishlist and Youtubers then quote us as the source for what ends up being a false rumor.
  5. That's what it looked like to me. Thanks for the confirmation.
  6. Fantastic looking castle! I added a main photo for you. I'd encourage you to add other photos by copy-and-pasting the URLs from Flickr. That way we can see them here on the forum easier.
  7. I for one am certainly excited for the possible figures, but after building Rivendell I'm equally excited by the possibility of an amazing Minas Tirith display piece. Contrastly, I'm concerned by another Shire repeat...
  8. Our three teams (Light Side, Dark Side, and Mercenaries) are currently battling a Ssi-Ruuk invasion over on the Star Wars RPG game, Mysteries. Come check out the current episode contest and join a team to stop this evil force from taking over the galaxy!
  9. Kammia, an agricultural world supplying foodstuffs across the Empire is under attack! Farmers awake earlier than normal to chirps and whirs of distraught field droids. Exiting their easily transportable habitat pod they are met with beamer shots from a Ssi-Ruuk invasion force. Will anyone be able to save these poor farmers from being entrenched!?!
  10. The Mercs are going after the planets as much as the Light or Dark side. You guys are so opportunistic that with the Alliance and the Empire busy on Bakura you're looking to seize the opportunity
  11. Thanks for your review! It seems that the velociraptor is a smaller size than the Jurassic World versions. Can you confirm that? If true I really appreciate the size change, I think it's a better scale against the minifigures.
  12. I just want to point out that Luke being a poorly done CGI face was because of the anti AI sentiment in Hollywood. They refused to use AI even though it would have done a much better job. Instead they went with an older roto-scope style CGI method that looks clunky. I personally liked Luke showing up at the end of season 2 because it was/is the closet thing to an EU Luke that we will ever see on screen. But I think they did themselves a dis-service by going with older technology to try to pull it off. They should have used a replacement actor or AI to get a better effect.
  13. @Renny The Spaceman @Mandalorianknight and anyone else involved in the Mando media discussion. Please take the conversation to This Topic. Please use this thread for talk about sets, not the media itself.
  14. Yes, but he acts like an old man. I'm probably older than his character, but I hope I act younger I agree that the Spider-Byte head makes a good Chiss. That's what I'm planning to use it for. And a good call on the lighting arms.
  15. Have you been able to find the new Spider-man CMF series? Want to know which are the best figures to go after? I can't promise to give you all the answers, but you'll at least get my takes on the series. My family really liked the first Spider-verse movie. The jury is still out on the 2nd. It'll depend on how well the 3rd movie can tie off all the lose ends. My son especially likes Spider-man and was very excited when he saw these were coming out. So, do they hold up to the hype? I bought a full case from the same store as all the other times. I want to give credit to @WhiteFang for his history with the CMF line. I could never do a CMF review as well as he can and I'm not going to try. This will be a fast overview of the series. I used a scanner to identify each figure and had a 100% success rate. I only wanted to open 1 of each figure for the review as I want to keep 1 set sealed and the 3rd will be a Christmas gift in a few months I don't know why Lego doesn't just sell a full case like this. The packaging looks great and it's a wonderful way for collectors to get full sets. Highlighted on the sides are Miles and Gwen. The boxes follow the same format as all the other boxed CMFs. With limited space on the box front I often wonder how Lego decides which characters get highlighted. The flyer inside gives you the full collection list. And the back of the flyer shows instructions for putting together the more "challenging" figures. First up are Spider-man 2099, the Prowler, Spider-Gwen, and Spider-Punk. There are some really great accessories with these 4, Spider-Punk being the absolute stand-out of the entire series. Spider-man 2099 has a plastic cape and Prowler has a cloth one. Prowler and Spider-Punk have new hair pieces that have great re-use options. Spider-Gwen's hair is new too and is only limited by the pink highlights on the end. Spider-Punk comes with both a new mowhawk piece in metallic grey as well as a dreadlocks piece in black. The Prowler has a new braided hairpiece and his helmet has the same braids molded to come out the back. A fantastic level of detail. Spider-man 2099's statue has a little printing around the head but can still make a great Star Wars hologram piece. Next up are the... encumbered Spider-people. Crime fighting with a baby in your front is not easy! The Cybor Spider-Woman has a great neck accessory that will show up on many MOCs I'm sure. Sun-Spider has amazing arm printing, a color new hat element, and the new crutch piece in black. Old man Spider-man is one of the weaker characters as you can't use any of his new prints outside of this character. Spider-Byte is cool, but also limited in re-use. And last up are the animal friend Spider-men. Miles has another new hair piece and great arm printing. Spider-man India's hair is also new and very cool. I appreciate that the cowboy Web-Slinger has a generic shirt and pants that can be used in any Western MOC. The animals (including the Werewolf Spider-man) are all limited due to the mask printed on their faces. CMF series are known for introducing new elements. But apart from the capes, the only new elements released with this series are the hair elements. What we lack in new elements the series tries to make up for in new prints including some great new skin tone prints. Verdict? SCORE DESIGN 7 There is great detail printed on all of the figures. However, most figures are limited in use outside of the Spider-verse. That's fine if you just want more Spider-men, but if you want to use the parts to customize this series is more limited than a traditional, non-IP CMF series. PARTS 6 I'm a sucker for new hair elements so I love that aspect of this series. But there really aren't that many other parts to get excited about. VALUE FOR MONEY 6.5 Compared to the F1 series, these are fantastic. But compared to almost any other series these struggle to compete. If you get a full set you really don't need more outside of a specific MOC idea. Other CMFs I was fine adding 1 or 2 to my cart when I shopped just to enjoy the surprise of what I might get an extra of. But with these, I feel no need to go out and buy more except for maybe Spider-Punk. That mowhawk is really cool. FINAL SCORE: 6.5 For a series based on an IP concept this collection is amazing. For anything else, I'd advise you to save your money.
  16. My guess is it'll be $500 and I'm hoping it's more like Rivendell than Barad-Dur. I was surprised we didn't get more figures in Barad-Dur. I worry that Lego will pull the same stunt with Gondor. The Shire was okay for fig selection. But nothing beats Rivendell yet. The full Fellowship plus so many extras, that was a treat. It's how Lego should treat these large, adult focused sets. It shouldn't be a one-off. But I have no faith that Lego will give us what we deserve and will skimp out on the figures again.
  17. Really? I have a Netto near me but I rarely go inside. How soon after release did they have them? I might have to start popping into my Netto from time to time now...
  18. I love it! Great to see this post from you CopMike.
  19. Fantastic MOC! I went ahead and added the link for one of the photos. That's better for our site than just a link to the album. I'd encourage you to post the links for the rest of the photos so that we can all enjoy them here on EB.
  20. Love the blue castle! Very non-traditional, but the colors totally work.
  21. Here's a few suggestions for anyone looking for make their own Ssi-Ruuk: And of course you have the other versions of that head. You could also go the slightly more abstract direction and just use actually dinos. I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with! Lastly, I forgot to include the prize for overall winner from Cat A and B. It's including in the contest specifics now.
  22. Ha! You think those are priced high. I looked at buying the red or blue version. Yikes! As a castle fan I already owned two of the green heads. And I don't have the kind of cash to buy more, so I'll be using some Chima pieces instead. Ssi-Ruuk are basically Star Wars raptors carrying blasters. So a good dino piece could work too
  23. Yes, that's exactly it. It's all of you vs. me
  24. Episode 2 is now live! As the Light Side didn't have anyone participate in the New Home contest they did not choose a home base. However, they will be allowed to choose one in the future. Any active member of the Light Side may send me a PM in the future to coordinate choosing one.
  25. Hardly has each faction had time to set up a home base before word breaks out of an alien invasion of the planet Bakura. A race from the Unknown Regions, the Ssi-ruuk have appeared and laid siege to the planet. The Imperials send out a call for help, but with the Empire in turmoil after the destruction of the Death Star it's the Rebel Alliance who ends up responding. Local Senate member Gaeriel Captison helps facilitate the negations between the two warring factions as they all seek to stop the invading force of Ssi-ruuk. But while Luke, Leia and Han try to help the Imperials stop the Ssi-ruuk on Bakura, there is more going on in the region... Our attack on Bakura is not going as planned. We are facing more resistance than expected. Send out more ships. We must establish a foothold in this part of the galaxy. While their main force is at Bakura, the Ssi-ruuk have also launched attacks on Kammia, Ravaath, Cattamascar, and Timora. Having received intel about these attacks, each faction send it's own forces to try to stop the alien invaders. Contest Specifics: For the duration of this contest all teams have access to G16. Submit your entries with G16 and the chosen planet following all other prefix rules: [Square - System - Faction. Currently the Light Side has control of planets in H16. The may continue to access planets as normal in and around H16. The special contest access is granted only for planets in G16. Cat A: Build a scene from the Truce at Bakura book. (If you've never read it you can find out more on Wookiepedia.) All Cat A builds should be registered for Bakura. Size restriction is 32x32. Each player may enter 1 MOC for this category. Cat B: Build a scene showing an aspect of the Ssi-Ruuk. This can be their fighting style, their entrenchment technology, the ships, their caste system, or something else. All Cat B builds should be registered on Bakura. No size restriction. Each player may enter 1 MOC for this category. Cat C: Invasion! During this contest the Ssi-Ruuk will be a GM controlled team. The GM will be building on Kammia, Ravaath, Cattamascar, and Timora as the Ssi-Ruuk. A 3rd party person will judge the GMs builds. At the end of the contest, if the Ssi-Ruuk have more points than any other team on a given planet they will automatically gain full control of that planet. All other XP points will be registered as normal for the teams. For example, if the Dark Side earns 32 XP on Kammia and the Ssi-Ruuk earn 40 XP the Ssi-Ruuk will be given 50 additional XP and control of Kammia. The Dark Side would retain the 32 XP earned on Kammia. However, if the Light Side earns 25 XP on Ravaath and the Ssi-Ruuk earns 21 XP the Light Side would retain 25 XP and the Ssi-Ruuk would lose their 21 XP. Each player may build as much as they want for Cat C. Prize: The team whose player earns the most points for Cat A and B (combined total of both entries) will earn their team the name of the planet in G16 with the madman's clue on it. The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation or the rules above. There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds other than the specifics described above. The Episode will run from Sept 9th to Nov 10th. As long as it is still Nov 10th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will only earn normal XP points. The criteria by which your MOCs will be scored is 1) Storytelling, 2) Aesthetics, and 3) Technical Ability. You can earn up to 10 points in each category for a max total of 30 points per entry. This episode/contest is open to all players of Mysteries, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to the start date of this episode. You can use creations for this contest in other forums or contests, but it should not have been displayed before the start date for this contest. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. 3rd party parts may be allowed if used to customize characters and in small quantities. I.E. guns or decals. 3rd party bricks are not allowed to be intentionally used (if you have a Megablock 2x2 brick in a wall of Lego bricks you won't be penalized). You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited,. All entries will be entered by the GM using this form: Link to Submission Form
