Does he though? I don't see other reviews showing off their obscure Lego purchase and boasting about how much they spent on it. I think he could review sets without the personality I find off-putting, others do. And on the other hand, this "job" is a choice he's making. My job pays me, I don't have to spend money in order to get a paycheck.

New freebuild: Andres' Mill

Spring was slow to show her face this year. The snow was slowly beginning to melt, but it would be awhile yet before blossoms began to blow in Mitgardia. Andres, the miller of Dalig Ulv, was busy today. Many families were bringing last year's grain to be milled for flour. They had planned to save it for planting, but the long winter meant their food stores were running low.

I do not like Youtube reviews as a general rule. But I'm not in the demographic of people who usually spend time on Youtube. To be able to speak knowledgable on this topic I watched some recent MandR videos. I think his reviews are ok, the things I don't like are the same things I don't like about all Youtube reviews. However, I will say what turns me off from MandR (has in the past and after watching recent videos still does) is his other videos. He makes a point of showing off his rare purchases and doesn't hide the fact that he paid tons of money for them. Like in this video he keeps talking about his $1000 purchase throughout the video. But in those same videos he rants about all the mistakes Lego has made in design choices, minifigure designs, etc. It comes across as 1) vain (he seems to get a kick out of boasting about how much money he spends on Lego) and 2) insincere. Either you dislike how Lego handles Star Wars sets as passionately as MandR says he does or you're willing to spend thousands every month on Lego purchases. But to do both smacks of hypocrisy.

If people want to debate the pros and cons of MandR, I will create a separate topic and you can continue the discussion there. It's relevant to the forum, but not to this topic. EDIT: Topic created. Please continue Youtuber discussion there.

That's a great looking place. Do you do much fishing? Looks perfect for fly-fishing. For your location, I'm still confused about where you're posting. Here's the map: I see Ord Biniir in K5. However, your Bad Batch Need Work is set on Ord Biniir but in K6. Let me know which you're intending. And then you've been posting on Mantoonie (which is in L5) but set in K6. You have access to L5 and K6. If you're building on Mantoonine I'll change it to L5. If you're building K6 but on a different planet let me know and I'll change that.

Comments about (and therefore discussion) of new sets belongs in the Discussion thread, which is here. It used to be that we had a separate thread for discussion sets from each year. I've changed that in recent years but I realized my intro post to this topic didn't make that very clear. I've tried to correct that. We have separate threads for NEWS divided by year. This includes substantiated rumors, set descriptions, and official reveals. We have just 1 thread for discussion in which you can discuss sets regardless of which year they release. I will continue to create a new thread each year so we don't end up with a thread 1000s of pages long. But for now, please use this thread to discuss sets from both 2025 and 2026.

I'm always looking for ways to make the game more accessible, is there a specific point in the rules where you got lost or an element of the game that's confusing? There are game mechanics, but at the end of the day it's really simple. You pick a team, you build a SW MOC, and your team gets points. You can get more involved in strategy if you want, but you certainly don't have to. And a MOC every few months would be totally fine.
