I really like the Parrot cage and the knife rack on the top level! There is so much detail in this build and it's all well done!
-
It is definitely the mini Slave I that makes this build stand out. Nicely done with getting all the details in a small space! I think your sand could use some work. It's fine that it's flat, but I think it's too symmetrical. Not bad for a fast entry though!
-
Now that is some Felucian plant-life! You've really captured the feel of the flora with this build. I think your base could do with some more texturing. Maybe some added levels of plates in certain parts to show difference in terrain. But overall I think this is a great fast-entry build!
-
I think this is some kind of record. For a super quick entry you've done a good job. I'm not sure you've captured the feel of Ord Mantell very well, but at least you haven't contradicted what the planet looks like by using trees or something else out of place. Your story also doesn't fit the SW canon, because other Mandalorians didn't have much to do with Boba Fett or vis versa. But, I won't complain about seeing a build from you instead of more posts, and neither should your team since you've earned them the first points of the contest! Also, just out of curiosity, is your sigfig the one with the helmet or the one without?

Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka — Introduction and Discussion

New Contest is up -
As long as you fulfill the requirements of your team you can do it however you'd like A clash between Rebels and Imperials would certainly be allowed as long as you also show your team trying to locate Boba Fett. Though, I will say, I designed this contest with the idea of not emphasizing that conflict. As long as you build more than you post, go for it!
-
Oh. My. Goodness. And it actually is functional! Great work as always Gunman! I love your style and I ditto all the good things already said about this build.

Rebels Rebel Soldier: Sir, we have some important information the intelligence agents have decrypted from the data given us by the Bothans. Rebel Leader: Have you decrypted all of the information already? Rebel Soldier: No, but some of the information we have been able to decipher gives us the flight plan for Boba Fett after he left Cloud City. Rebel Leader: Holy flying alphabet letters! This could mean the recovery of Han Solo! We must get some of our men on this right away! Rebel Soldier: Yes, sir! But sir? What if Boba Fett isn't on any of the planets on the flight plan? He could have changed it or the data we have might be inaccurate. Rebel Leader: The information we got from the Bothan’s is 100% accurate! Didn’t you hear that many of them died to get us this information? That means Boba Fett has to be on one of these planets. Our men will just have to keep checking to make sure they haven’t missed him. Imperials Imperial Trooper: Sir, I have just received this message from Lord Vader. Captain Erdbeereis: Yes, what does he command? Imperial Trooper: He wants us to deliver his “thank you” card to Boba Fett. Captain Erdbeereis: What! Doesn’t Lord Vader realize that we are an important ship in this fleet and not a currier barge? Imperial Trooper: He also said that we could deliver the card to Boba Fett, or we could deliver it to the Wampas on Hoth. Captain Erdbeereis: Very well, make some copies of Lord Vader’s “thank you” card and get some of our men together for delivery duty. Imperial Trooper: What if they don’t find him right away? Captain Erdbeereis: The more men we have on each planet the more likely we are to run into him. Now, disperse the troops! Unknowingly both the Rebel Alliance and the Empire set out along the same hyperspace routes. The flight plan that Boba Fett filed said he would fly from Bespin to Fondor first, then on to Ord Mantell, next stop by Felucia and refuel at Mon Calamari before heading to Bothawui which was the last planet on his flight plan though not his final destination. "Look Sir! Droids!" "How in the world did you figure out there was a droid here by one tiny piece of metal!? It could have come from a speeder or a Twi'lek Jedi's lightsaber for all we know! And besides, we are looking for Boba Fett, not droids." "Look, a bounty hunter!" "That's not the bounty hunter we're looking for." For ideas of what each planet looks like see the Star Wars Planet Bios. For those looking for a quick answer here is a cheat-sheet: Fondor: Industrial Centers, Factories and Ship Yards Ord Mantell: Junkyards Felucia: Psychedelic Forests Mon Calamari: Water… and More Water Bothawui: Farms and Information Centers Scoring: The winning team will be the team who gets the most points like usual. Though this time there are 2 ways to earn points for your team: 1. Earn points through your entries. You can earn a maximum of 10 points per entry. There will be only 1 round of judging for each entry. All points earned by each participant will count towards their team's overall score. 2. Earn points by being the team with the most troops on the ground. The first player to build on each of the five planets earns 5 points for his/her team. However, whenever the opposing team has more troops on the planet they in turn gain 5 additional points for their team. This is done by having more total entries on a planet than the other team. Points are awarded when the team with fewer entries matches the number of entries of the opposing team, and then builds 1 more. For example, if the Imperials build the first entry on Mon Calamari then they score 5 points and have the most troops on the planet. However, if the Rebels build 2 entries on Mon Calamari before the Imperials build any more, then they have the most troops on the planet and they earn 5 points. This does not cause the Imperials to lose their points. Each team would then have 5 points with the opportunity to earn more. Another example, if the Imperials have 3 builds on Felucia, for the Rebels to have more troops on the planet they have to 4 total entries for Felucia. If they only enter 3 total builds then the Empire has the advantage because they were there first and the Rebels have not earned the 5 points. This then gives the Empire the chance to add more troops by entering more builds to prevent the Rebels from earning the 5 points. There is no limit to the number of times a planet can change hands for which team has the most troops on the ground. Each time a planet changes hands, the points are added onto the existing points for the appropriate team. Points for having the most troops on each planet will be updated often throughout the contest. The Rules: 1. All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation. 2. The Empire's goal is to depict their troops trying to deliver the “thank you” note to Boba Fett or finding out that he has already moved on to a different planet. 3. The Alliance's goal is to depict a scene showing their troops trying to track down Boba Fett and finding out that he has already moved on to a different planet. 4. Each team member will be allowed to enter multiple entries for this contest. The number of entries will depend on your rank. Each player may only enter 1 entry per planet regardless of how many entries they are allowed. For example, someone with 4 allowed entries cannot build all 4 on Fondor. - Players with 0-10 XP: 2 entries - Players with 11-25 XP: 3 entries - Players with 26-50 XP: 4 entries - Players with 51-200 XP: 5 entries 5. There will be a 16x16 base size limitation with allowance for reasonable overhang for each entry. If there are any doubts about what counts as “reasonable” contact one of the SoNE admins. 6. Remember to make your entry appropriate to your rank and goal. For this contest there are some variations from the Core Rules: The judges will award a score from 1-10, with a '1' being "Minifig on a Plate", a '5' being "Your Average MOC" and a '10' being "Flawless Concept and Execution". All entries will add points to their team’s overall score, however, since players are allowed multiple entries, only the two highest scoring entries of each builder will add points to the player's XP count. The amount of points you earn for that entry is also the amount of XP your character earns. Therefore, the most XP a player can earn for himself from this contest is 20 XP. 7. The Episode will run from August 8th to September 24th. As long as it is still Sept 24th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. 8. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. 9. This episode/contest is open to all players of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. 10. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. 11. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. 12. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto's Junkyard subforum, the title prefixed by, "[soNE Ep. 6]". (For example, "[soNE Ep. 6] Boba Fett Gets Too Many Thank You Cards".) 13. Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. 14. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects onone picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. 15. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. However, due to the time sensitivity of this contest your entry will be disqualified if the judges deem that you have abused this rule. Improving your build will be allow, entering a “minifig-on-a-plate” to have the most troops on a planet and then improving your entry later to earn more XP will not be tolerated. The Prizes: 1. All the players on the winning team will receive this tag to commemorate their victory (NOTE: this tag is a work in progress and may change). You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Characters topic. 2. The player who receives the most total individual points, regardless of team, is guaranteed a spot among the next set of the blog's Showcased MOCs. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) 3. You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges for your 2 highest entries. 4. The player with the highest points on the winning team will win 75034 Death Star Troopers. The player with the highest points on the losing team will win his/her choice of one Microfighter set. Current Standings Most Troops (updated 9/24) Fondor Empire: 5 - 5 XP gained Rebels: 7 - 5 XP gained Ord Mantell Empire: 11 - 5 XP gained Rebels: 12 - 5 XP gained Felucia Empire: 7 - 5 XP gained Rebels: 11 - 5 XP gained Mon Calamari Empire: 9 - 5 XP gained Rebels: 8 Bothawui Empire: 11 - 10 XP gained Rebels: 10 - 5 XP gained

Thanks guys! I thought about using the normal scythe design like Lego had for the Scarecrow. But then I stumbled across the Mummy sword in my pieces and thought it'd look cooler. Glad you all agree! It's not too much time, it's just efficient use of time Also, my wife was out of town this past week so I had to fill the hours with something and ended up building a lot of MOCs. Yes, I guess that's true. Maybe I should have spent as much time experimenting with the colors as I did with the scythe!

Thanks! I thought so Glad you like it! Larger diorama, hmm... Please, steal away! Thanks SK! I'm glad you like the rounded bricks as much as I do for this build! Thanks! Well, the base is pretty rectangular and normal Did you mean the brown "dirt" pieces adding texture on top? Thanks Gunman! I had to try to add something different from yours
-
Thanks! I thought about using 2x2 round plates for the robble, but thought that smaller pieces was more realistic. Thanks Scaevola! Thanks guys! I bricklinked those hats a few months ago and have been waiting to use them. Glad you like the combo!
-
Yes, I like that it is realistically climbable. I'm curious though, what makes you say it looks awkward? Is it the amount of foliage or lack thereof on it or something else? Thanks Vlad! Yes, I'm pretty happy with the technique myself. I'm waiting for my Lego store to restock 2x2 log bricks in their pickabrick wall so I can make more than 1 of these at a time. The tree took over 90 of those pieces just for 1!

Yes, I wish I could have gotten the beams flush with the tower also. I tried a couple different ways but could come up with a solution. Maybe someone else will come along and improve on the idea Well, the idea was that each person had to slide over the wall... I didn't want a gapping hole in the wall of the tower, makes it seem less defensable.

Thanks SK! I guess the claws could be bigger. But I didn't want it to look Chima-y so this was the result instead.

Age of Mitgardia - Stables Phase 2 - Muninn Ranch
MKJoshA replied to mccoyed's topic in Guilds of Historica
To me it looks like the plates are just laid together. They don't look like they have any connection points. There is a way to do this so that it looks good. I've done it on many of my houses before. But your plates look off kilter. I'm sorry, I don't have any more specific way to explain it. I've been using that same reasoning for my builds. It's certainly realistic as I see it all the time here in the States. -

I really like how you've "fleshed" out the back-story of each of your characters. Your council is growing larger by the day! You'll have to show us a build with all the members gathered together!

See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 Part 10: A New Home Part 10.1:Blunted Edges Part 10.2: Cramped Spaces Part 10.3: Enthusiastic Worker Part 11.0 Part 11: Mysterious Death Part 12: Dark Meetings Part 13: Warm Yourself Part 14.1: Sisterly Visit Tom was very proud of his cornfield. He was the 2nd generation of corn farmers to work this land. He had improved his father’s work by building a small mill on the property. This meant they could harvest the corn and grind it without having to haul it around in wagons. OoC: I thought about adding more brown plates inbetween the corn stalks, but felt that the straight green gave a better feel to the build. Let me know what you think! EDIT: Can a MOD please change the title to "Proud Farmer - AoM: Farm Phase II"

That's super impressive! You have a great style of building! I love the rock work, the ramshackle buildings, the swamp, and all the different kinds of plants! Your tower is a great combination of wood and stone and looks fabulous. Good to have you in the guilds!

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion

AoM builds a plenty! Tower Phase II: Inn Phase I: Mill Phase I: So my wife was gone this past week. Which meant I survived by building whenever I wasn't at work. I have a few more AoM entries to get up and one freebuild you'll see soon. -
I would love a new castle theme bringing back some of the oldies. However, if it meant the stopping of LOTR sets I would have to vote against it.

See the previous tales: Wyndor's Saga: Chapter 1 -What Has Past- Chapter 2 Part 10: A New Home Part 10.1:Blunted Edges Part 10.2: Cramped Spaces Part 10.3: Enthusiastic Worker Part 11.0 Part 11: Mysterious Death Part 12: Dark Meetings Part 13: Warm Yourself When Wyndor was off with Pjeter dealing with city council matters Valanice had taken to getting to know some of the families that lived outside the walls of Dålig Ulv. There were many farmers and other land owners that claimed Dålig Ulv as their home and all were happy to befriend Valanice. Her charm made them comfortable and her honest desire to help in what little ways she could while she visited them made them love her. Just a couple days ago Valanice’s parents had sent their youngest, Olivia, to stay with Valancie and Wyndor for some time while they dealt with the Drow. Valanice had spent the past few years with her uncle, Robert, in Beleriand, and hadn’t seen her sister in a long time. Today she was visiting Tom and Brenda with Olivia. Valanice was watching her sister lead the horse around the track as he ran the mill that crushed the corn from Tom and Brenda’s farm. They had hired the services of one of the local dwarves, Hashbaz, to help them around their property. He was a nervous dwarf. He always seemed to be looking over his shoulder and seemed to ever be worried about something. But he was a hard worker and Tom needed his help to bring in all the crops this year. (Sorry this is so much like Gunman's entry! I had no intention of plagiarizing his build. I've had the idea for awhile, but he beat me to building it!) (I like the angle of the first picture better but this one is for those who like a picture of the complete build without anything cropped out)

Great Kaliphlin style! You've really done a good job with the details and I really like the armor on the elephant. Keep it up!

This is great! It's nice to see us all in one shot and it's nice that you could get Yoda off his death bed to join the rebels for the picture

Thanks Lord Dan, those are some good suggestions! The wall with the 1x1 plates is supposed to be the inside of the wall. I wanted to try a different take at that style.
