Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
---Vertea--- replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
where did you get that tie? It's fantastic! -
So the other day, I was thinking about steampunk, and how I wanted to build a ship of that genre. It was a few days later until I actually got off my butt to do so. Anyway, this ship is part inspired by "The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello" ( a really good steampunk short I found on Youtube) and by the submarines from Disney's Atlantis. The hardest part was figuring out a way to make the dome work, but after a few frustrating minutes, I came up with a solution. The rest of the ship was easy cake after that. Without further ado, I give you The Myroneus This ship has a distinctly fishlike appearance, as do most stempunk ships. the 'eyes' are th only lights I put on it to give a more 'living' look. The 'face' of the ship. I used two different kinds of arches for this effect The cannon- the only defense a carrier type ship has. I was glad to finally use this part in a MOC Of course, the cannon is placed where it is because... the Cargo doors are right there! they are on both sides. Here is a view of the wing mechanism: And for more images heres The Brickshelf Gallery(when public). So basically, it's a flying whale ship- you can't see in the pictures, but I actually used arches inside the body of the ship. It was a really nice detail that I wish I had made viewable. There's LOTS of room on the intereor for whatever cargo you care to store, but no place for a driver...perhaps the ship is alive after all? Anyway, questions and comments are appreciated. Hope you all enjoy!

is there actually a sniffer frog?
-
nope. NO printing. but it' interesting ot note that the new head has tentacle hair molded at the back
-
I will be awaiting eagerly. Lots of pics, right?
-
yes, but I'm unfortunately a bit 'purist' when it comes to re-using parts... Tho I suppose in this case it might be worth it
-
I kinda dislike Brick Daddy's Eyes- too cartoonish, but the head part is win. Also the addition of the gold version of that head in the same set have pretty much won me over. Has anyone figured out whether or not it comes with an orange sniff frog?

hm... S'pose you're right. On topic: The new torsos look fantastic. I kinda want one of the Ben 10 torsos, tho. The four-armed aspect could look very nice with some HF parts... Also, I think that the Cores won't be removable. Which kinda limits the armor to only Hero Factory use... A bit of an irritation, methinks

that... is an excellent question. I really don't think we ever DID get a definitive answer. I'll check BS01

8095 General Greivous' Starfighter (Picture and Video) Review
---Vertea--- replied to ReZourceman's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would like to see more photos of the Grievous minifig, if that's not too much trouble :) -
True, but you know people are going to charge outrageously for that fig alone. The HQ has it's bonuses, but I can't see myself spending full price on it...

I know I want the Brickfather's set for his new head piece in GitD and Gold. Also, his set is amazingly epic. However, I also want Craniac, who looks like one of the best evil figs I've seen in a while. Both are relatively expensive sets, but I think Lunar Limo is the best bang for my buck... What do you guys think?
-
wow! I haven't heard from you in ages? How's the Bionicle community?
-
I'm certainly hoping for some unseen sets...
-
not quite. That's Mark Surge. you can tell because he's the only hero with those gigantic freak eyes
-
that's an awfully curious thing to edit. I didn't see what it was, but it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that merits deletion. I always appreciate Front's stories.... Shall we ever know what you wrote?
-
absolutely fantastic! you really did a great job with it, and even conquered the blockiness inherent in most fan MOCs of humaniod characters. LOVe the use of the Atlantis piece for the soul-stealer.

it's right on his chest, behind his head in the image a few posts up. Oh, and hallo again, EB! it's been awhile

I think William's helmet will look cool backwards

my main thing is poseability, so I will go with the new skellie bodies( with classic heads) and I might pick up a classic skellie, too for the sake of having a limp corpse. Does anyone know a good way to get several of them without buying whole castle sets?
-
BZ is taking it's sweet time uploading the villains and vehicles...
-
good god! how'd you get all of those??
-
I have been a fan of the LEGO skeletons since I first saw them in one of my S@H mags. Unfortunately, I have not had the privilege of getting my hands on one to date. But now with two different body molds I am having trouble deciding which to get. There's the classic skellie with ball-joint arms, then there's the new skellie with new arm things. Personally, I don't care for the new heads, but it's the arms that I'm really curious about. The old ones seemed looser than the new, but I would like an opinion on how the difference is before I go searching on Bricklink. Thanks in advance! ---Vertea---

http://www.flickr.com/photos/fbtbnet/43575...in/photostream/ notice the stuff on the side? looks to me like some sort of villain. resembles old war planes nad how they used to make a mark for every one of something they shot down.

Corroder and Natalie for the heads and design. Corroder's box art makes him look very raptor-like.
