LOVE it! Corroder's pose in the box is epic win!

I don't care what y'all say about the horn, I think Corroder is a badarse. though I really hate the Ben10 legs I really hate Xplode's face- its hideous in a very non-cool way, but that's just my own preference. I'm a freak lol. Meltdown is still the best of the bunch, so no argument there... I already disliked Mark Surge, so I wasn't to terribly disappointed with the set. Willy Blaze isn't all bad, but still not as good as I had hoped. I'm really disappointed with your reactions to reused parts. Honestly? with all of the new parts that the Bionicle line has been spewing out, it's ab out damn time they had another use. I, for one was thrilled to see the return of Crosteseus' mask in blue, and the Phantoka wings on the dropship. Parts like that just make sense for that kind of thing, ya know? And the return of Hydraxon's face was kinda neat, too(though Von Nebula is a little disappointing on the whole...) but enough about that. My thoughts on the sets themselves: Dropship- VERY nice. a bit small, but looks very swooshable. blue is a nice color to see, and for once, the silver looks good-especially with the yellow. I think they did good on the panels- less gappy than previous airships. Furno Bike- Orange Pohatu Phantoka arm, orang bitil wings, orange bohrok head... all on a black and silver body! very nice sturdy design. The driver isn't even that bad(though he is entirely red). I'll be seeing this one in my collection. Von Nebula is a terrible design in that pic, but give the fact that his beetle shell is on backwards, I'm willing to be a properly built version could look decent. Rotor has the coolest face I've ever seen. Why? because it has no eyes. The orange and black is nice, and his design looks solid for a $20 set.

the base of the ...erm.. base (lol) has grey crystal ball pieces... neat. that muist be part of the detachability overall, I am really pleased with the base. If only it came with a Cthulhu fig instead of another manta warrior
-
hallo 80. do you think you'll be the first to review these sets?
-
perhpas the manta warrior has flippers because it is the one from the professors book that took a great curiosity in the team.
-
That is excellent news! Thank you for making the inquiry, Front :) I really cannot wait to see the prototypes!
-
yeah... Really looking forward to either a recolour of Frenzy or a new alien head. But sadly, the only promise is coming from expensive looking sets

when does the US Toyfair take place again?
-
I definitely like the way Natalie Breez looks. Her and Bulk will be my definite buys. Blaze will come from the bike kit- which I will most definitely purchase. I do like the others, but my budget is REALLY low and will be for some time...

Its' nice to see the angle the arms are bent is far better for playing, but I would still like very much to see the villains
-
I wonder if the scans feature the villains?
-
Precisely. These new torso parts are nicely angled like a real body, which will make them nice for creating any sort of bipedal thing- but that's just a fringe use. they could be used as really whatever you want. The new armor may looks one-purpose, but if attached right, it could make a formidable ion canon, or paneling to a rugged vehicle. The pre-made limbs are the only thing that are probably stuck on a single use- as an arm with a gun attached. But they look cool, so bring on small ready-made soldiers! I see this as aesthetically pleasing specifically the way the torso is designed- the bodies are more three dimensional thatn the Inika build, meaning that our figures will look more solid.

really? Oh, man I wish I'd known that when it was available... now all I have is a McToran Matoro.... I wanted Onepu so badly... But on topic, I don't mind a simple build if the parts look awesome. And given that these are impulses, I don't care about complexity. The canisters, on the other hand, are what I look to for buildablility in a quasi-simplistic form. Just enough to make a figure, but not too much, that I could make two out of one. And then we have the box sets which should ALWAYS give an interesting build. And so far, Hero Factory looks most promising for canister and box sets alike. Just because our protagonists are... compact... doesn't mean we should hate it- It just means the villains will be actual challenges. Like Shadow of the Colossus or the Legend of Zelda. Big bad guys, tiny good guys. Makes for fun battles :) And on that note, what do you guys think of the new villains? Personally, I LOVE Corroder and Meltown. Corroder's head is pure win, and the canisters on Meltdown will be great in several giant robot MOCs

I understand that you are upset at not having anything completely new, but in all honesty, a replacement line for Bionicle should be expected to follow in it's footsteps design-wise. If you want something new, then look for it in another category.
-
that is an excellent question. it's been a day now...

heaven forbid a teaser doesn't show much... This topic has become a major bash-fest for something that in all honesty is looking like a far better prospect than what Bionicle was becoming. Let Bionicle die... it's time has come. Alternate universes, giant robots, sudden plot changes, and a paper-thin story are all that is left of what started out as a mysterious and wonderful thing. Part of what made Bionicle so nice was that it's story was loose and vague so that the builder could fill in the blanks and play as they imagined. But as it grew, the fans demanded more story, and thus successfully tied down all playability to the specifics that they requested. I think, personally, that Hero Factory is a reboot we've needed for about three and a half years now. Sure, we've had some nice sets, but the story was suffering huge. The Hero Factory premise is simple and allows once more for the builder to make adventures in strange places. The figures look pretty darn cool, and will be far easier to play with as they lack those many joints that were nice for posing, but not nice for playing with. There are limits with the armor, yes, but I can still see much to be done with the rest of the pieces, and those are only impulse sets, anyway. The villains look choc- full of interesting uses, and the vehicles look promising. So please, gentlemen and ladies... Let Bionicle go. It ran it's course, we enjoyed it, but ultimately, I was hearing more complaint than praise from you guys, so I can't imagine why a new line is such a terrible thing.

wonder when we'll be getting those scans...

Unfortunately no... I really want High Quality pics of the villains so I can see what their feet are like
