  1. no- they're 2010 sets. I talked to him about it, though I'd like to ask before posting the conversation.
  2. The website Drad Central was hosting a nine days of 9 contest and I won on the fourth day. The prizes were these really cool movie books in burlap cases. The book itself features all of the Scientist's journals, LOTS of screencaps with commentary, concept art, storyboard art, and a Forward by the guys behind the film. It also includes a DVD with the original short in actual high quality.
  3. It's the case that my prize came in. I'm uploading more pictures soon
  4. I see no pics and it would help to have some form of translation.
  5. I like that I can still score some monsters without buying the uber-expensive larger sets. Though I MIGHT slurge a little and get the Octopus Gate for Mr. Cthulhufig
  6. even though we already know it's function
  7. Oh, damn! I think I just came. If only he'd illustrate ALL of the comics. By the by, where did you get that?
  8. but they also feature plus-rod holes instead of pin holes. That alone makes them VERY useful. That and the colours. I think I'll pick up one for the parts and that's that- the rest of my toy budget goes to Bionicle, Atlantis and Nanovor.
  9. I thought those guys looked more like manta rays...
  10. If they DO replace Bionicle, I want to see something like in 2001- robots in a non-technological setting.
  11. Thanks for all the info Wout! Sucks that they're pulling the plug so soon, but Hopefully this only means a change in story.
  12. Wait... you sepcified Squidporch as having the Cthulhu squidguy- the one we've been gawking over, yes? So then are the other squidguys different?
  13. I see these as sets that will end up in those toy bags at thrift stores, so I'll get them there. I'm liking the parts and the design a little, but there really could've been... more to them.
  14. I'd like to see an eel monster... we have yet to see naything of that sort. Either that, or an angler fish
  15. I'd like an eel man.
  16. I think that the Atlantean minifigs will be invaluable to the collector in that they could also be VERY useful in Space MOCs. Especially the Cthulhu King. I am also liking the shield/key things. And that they have function. All in all, this is pretty darn creative and I'm really excited to see what the summer has to offer for this series.
  17. Except FAR more Bionicle-compatible and with cool usable parts
  18. I guess. I personally have little issue with the weapons. Taka's is really the only one that's too far from the actual set, and I never really cared for his old weapons.
  19. Why can't you all be right? from Bink
  20. I know, right? When they took it away from the scientist, and the Fabrication machine tried to keep him there. That choked me up. Then you could see how batshit scared it was when it was forced into the cage.
  21. Like I said before- I think the Stars are just part of a promotional "history of bionicle" thing. That could explain the early Magazine- A retrospective on Bionicle throughout the years leading up to the tenth anniversary at the end of 2010. The Stars are just the buttering up... then the story kicks in, then we finally get a big celebratory 10th Anniversary thing.
  22. Isn't it? My wallet is already sore XD. I better get me a job right quick!
  23. Lovecraftian Minifigs ftw! The head and legs are absolutely cool. I like the use of the keys as functions in the sets.
  24. AND they have cross-axle holes! I think that the comic has nothing to do with making up story, but rather serves as a brief history of Bionicle- including the sets that we're getting.
