Or maybe a couple of the heroes took some flare guns and did something really stupid. As for the set, meh. I got it because I needed Breez, but compared to the other Kaijus, Flyer Beast wasn't really that interesting. I already rebuilt it into a four-legged scorpion thing, and I'm probably going to use its parts in a crab Kaiju when I get the chance.

So I guess Tentro's name used to be Flexi?
-
What part of it would be illegal? The end? The tail pieces have a segment at the tip that's meant for bar connections or anything that fits them.
-
Huh, I hadn't noticed the way the pieces on the Zamor launchers keep the spheres in. Pretty neat, and looks better than the other solutions I've seen or tried before.

I mean if you want to frame this as us trying to crush everyone's hopes then sure, go right ahead. The only reason we, or at least I, am continuing is because it seems like you're refusing to even accept the possibility that it might be true. It's the same stance I take with the whole "bring back BIONICLE" thing. Do I actively want it to stay dead and never return? No, of course not. But I think people need to be prepared for the likelihood that it won't be revived. Ditto here. Some of the parts look interesting, but I acknowledge that there's a chance we may never get them, or at least not for a while.

Got a Shuff today. Naming her Rocksanne. adorable

No I love Wallace & Gromit. Because now I can't see it as anything else. It's the eyes, mainly. I think the same of Gobba.
-
I'm not really a fan of the electric ones. I'm also not entirely sure why. I'm just kinda not. I know for Volectro at least it's because he looks too much like a Wallace & Gromit character.
-
That's another one of the comparisons that's been made pretty much since we saw the first pictures.
-
You seem upset. Would you like to talk about it?
-
… I was not expecting the Nixels.

The maroon color looks to me like the result of wonky photography. It seems like what we saw at ToyFair is what we're seeing here. I actually kind of like the translucence of the "petals". It gives them a more organic, membranous look.

It it online? Do you have a link to it?

Does anyone know about 66158?

I remember having seen these before. One of the two pictures I saw was clearly an edit of the other. I made a handy .gif at the time to show it: I don't know if the sets themselves were ever real, but at the very least some of the images of the packaging were fake and/or edited. -
… which is what the initial report says. It says the word from LEGO is that they're cancelled, but that it's far from a concrete 100% decision. We may in fact see them released, but everyone needs to be prepared for the possibility that they won't be.

Generally the parts are pretty durable, with notable exceptions like the 2007 lime green and the 2008 redesign and a few outliers here and there. The newer designs are even better about it, though apparently not entirely free of issues. But I still use a ton of the single sockets I've had for years, and they're fine. Basically, most of the joints should work fine, but there are definitely some to avoid.

People have been claiming Hero Factory's death almost every year since it began, usually on the basis of "the sets are getting worse" or "the designs are getting lazier" or some other generic criticism leveled at any set ever by at least one person. We've never gotten any indication of its end from any official source, "vague" or not. Call them what you will, but one of them actually has evidence to support it.
-
I don't think that would be practical. The smaller release, that is. It wouldn't be as profitable, unless they sold the sets at higher price points, in which case they probably wouldn't sell as well. Again we're running into the issue that these are sets that haven't been widely officially announced yet, so their cancellation wouldn't be that significant to most of their target audience. (The "let's petition LEGO" thing has just become funny to me at this point, having seen 3-4 years of "bring back BIONICLE!") Nope.
-
"You won't BELIEVE what sets LEGO isn't going to release this year!" "I almost cried when LEGO told me this line was cancelled." "10 sets that would have blown us away. Once you see them you'll see why!"

This is literally what the Ambassadors are there for. To act as an information bridge between The LEGO Group and the LEGO community. Heck, it makes sense that they might release fewer constraction sets, at least in North America, since The LEGO Movie pushed back the release of this latest Hero Factory wave.

So basically you want to hear the news from the kind of person who broke the news in the first place.

Flyer Beast arrived today. Pretty meh as a set. Got it for parts and Breez. I needed Breez quick. But I DID NOT KNOW about the awesome picture on the bottom of the bag. That's really cool.
-
Krader and Vulk arrived today. I loves them. e: I like how Krader looks with the 1x1 round eye tiles.

Because it's coming from BZP's LEGO Ambassador? The one with all the connections? The most likely person among us to have access to this information?
