I got both Rocka Crawler and Tunneler Beast. They're both pretty decent, each having the small torso introduced in XT4 and several smaller limb pieces. They both have their own charm, but I think Rocka edges it out by having both a pod and the new small foot mold.

I don't think so. At this angle there's no possible way for any part of the tooth to be behind the hinge plate. It looks like the teeth are one layer above it. I think the "corner" you're seeing is one of the tooth piece's angles. It's probably not a new piece.

Probably because people keep expecting new information around every corner, when leaks have almost always been short and infrequent. We get some images, then nothing else for a month because that's all there really was to show.

That's a good point, but even so I think the main characters/sets should have a part in establishing that as the case.

I'm talking about a hypothetical rebooted universe with a more even ratio, and how it would still be important to have that at least somewhat reflected in the main characters. If part of the reboot was to have a better ratio, it wouldn't seem very genuine if it was just an aside or footnote. A mostly- or all-male team isn't going to suddenly be forgiven because the writers add in a bit about how there are actually an equal number of females too. That's just talk. If the purpose is to have better representation, then it needs to be in the primary medium as well. I don't think it would be as controversial as you do, because it's been over ten years since the Toa Mata were introduced, and I doubt there are so many people attached to their original forms that it would cause such an uproar as to be a problem for the company.

Gender ratio, main characters' gender, close enough. The "main characters" of BIONICLE are most of what we see anyway. Saying that half the beings in the universe are female and half are male and then having a 5:1 male-to-female ratio in the main characters doesn't make for better representation. You didn't just say it was controversial, you said "The fact that we keep arguing about this is a perfect example that it's not a good idea," and that's not true at all.

That doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't. You said that this whole argument proves that the gender ratio shouldn't be changed, which doesn't make sense.

I don't think it needs to literally be Vakama, but I feel like the legend-telling would be an excellent way to connect the past and present if it were to be set further along the timeline. I'm also a fan of the legacy character idea in general, because it both leaves established characters as they are (as well as further honoring them) while opening up possibilities for the new characters in terms of gender or personality (while still keeping the connection to the original story). It'd be cool to see subplots about, say, "Tahu" wondering if he/she/they can live up to their namesake's legacy because "Kopaka" acts as the leader this time around. I doubt it'll be anything close to that, but the idea crossed my mind today and I really liked it.

I think the new characters should be far-future legacy characters taking the names of Toa from legend. I also think they should bridge the two stories by having the new characters be the ones Vakama always seemed to be narrating to.

A more equal ratio would be nice. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

Pronouns. There seem to be some pretty strong opinions on the gender ratio coming from people who say that the gender ratio doesn't matter.

re: the list being removed, has anyone bothered checking to see why? It could be that they were asked to remove it… or it could also be that it was wrong and they took it down on their own. At this point there are definite signs of a new BIONICLE line, but "the evidence is now gone so it must be true" is not one of them.

Funky names. Are they supposed to be 6 Matoran-sized + 6 Toa-sized (+ 1 whatever-spider-sized) sets? If so I can get behind that. "Defender" seems to be an odd choice for villain name, after all, even with the translation gap.
