Cheatster9000x, I never posted my ends of the earth spidey cause I didnt think anyone would know what I was talking about, I made him to go with my sinister six which was based on the version from ends of the earth. I gave him a red old space helmet over the spidey head to make it look more like a helmet, yours would look good with one, your choice of armor is way better, I just used the red spyrius droid torso. Here's my Ends of the Earth SInister 6 I've since changed Scorpions head to the evil mech's, still need a dying old man face for otto, to make it more end of the earthy.

Giving credit where credit is due... or not
autorazr replied to AmperZand's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So I often take inspiration from other builders. If you look at my own posts here, I have done an ED-209, while most of the design was taken from someone elses MOC, there are traces of my own designs in there too. Now in this case I did not credit the builders whose model i'd seen orignally, considering I'd seen dozens of ED-209's and that all were similar, but different. This is what I see across the board, when I see someone copy a MOC, they almost always improve something, or leave something out they dont have or replace components with parts they do have, or whatever. I don't think any builder can claim any kind of ownership over any kind of lego systyem connection or series of connections, up to and including MOC's. If I happen to make something while in communication with other builders, using their input, then I may credit them casually as in like "hey so and so helped inspire me." If anyone ever made money off of something I designed, now that would be another story, but since there are few people outside of lego themselves who make money selling original concepts in lego, its not something I'm too worried about.- 9 replies

The Riddler's Cane ( The proper one...)
autorazr replied to RaincloudDustbin's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
oh cool, good idea for a thread. No need to apologize, I really feel no sense of ownership over any lego idea. I believe anything I may have come up with was probably done by someone else somewhere at least once before, really I just ask because I've taken a lot from other builders, and never credited, I hope I'm not pissing anyone off. -

Is credit important? I figured this out a year ago at least (and I got it from someone else). I'm not bragging or trying to diminish your efforts, but this is lego, you're never the first to discover a new connection, nor is it really something that should be considered so personal. It's just my belief that we should just accept that people will use our ideas, that's actually why I post, so people can use my ideas, credit garners nothing for me, the reward is that y'all use my ideas. -
As a kid I hated the studs showing, I thought they looked like weird mongoloids or something, now though, I really appreciate the bald head, I wish ironman had a stud head instead of a huge helmet.

Are you familiar with plastic man? He can turn into anything, but retains his red, black, yellow, white color scheme. Here he is as a car

Blob (I wanted to be the first to use a simpsons head on a purist superhero) Screwball

are there flesh legs? You could do him with that same hip piece and just flesh legs, im sure theres a flesh head that would work too. Yellow really gives you some great variety the only thing it lacks is a good domino mask head or any kind of eye masks.

Great work with that lockjaw, Darkrattyop, I will be making one for myself now for sure. B'wana Beast and a fixed Vixen Plastic Man stretched out Plas as a lawnmower

I'm only just familiar with the show, but I'm familiar enough to recognize Malcolm Reynolds is pretty spot on, you did a great job with him at least. Is the angry guy Adam Baldwin's character? Its a good face for him. I've maybe seen 2 episodes of this show. -
List the Female Minifigure Leaders
autorazr replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You wont change society or business. I truly believe it is a problem that women receive unequal pay and have a smaller presence in the work force, I know that relates directly to what we're saying, but heres the thing, lego is a for profit company with a girls line and a kind of boys line, toy manufactures will always do this to make more money, it is on us, the consumer to use their product more responsibly, by making more female leaders and not restricting ourselves to lego's guidelines. You are right legoman, but what I'm suggesting is the only way to counter the gender bias, making a post on a forum wont, and we cant storm the lego headquarters with pitchforks asking for more diversity, what can we do but use our own sense of whats right and equal, and create more woman leaders and share our creations with the lego community. -

Selling copied MOCs
autorazr replied to Pat-Ard's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Lego has detailed how their pieces fit with each other properly, every piece to every piece in which it can connect, therefore, I think you can equate lego system to say connecting a macbook to an iPad with a lightning cable. If no one outside of Lego has copywritten an MOC in the decades that lego has been around, I have to assume they covered their bases on this one and you can't (even that famous work of lego art by Nathan Sawaya has been copied and sold, it would seem even his work isnt copywritten, but if anyone knows please share). I have seen many printed works featuring lego (as in say, The Brick Bible) and surely his work is protected, so by that logic, one could most likely copyright instructions. I feel bad for you guys getting ripped off, I'm sure we'd all love to make money building with Lego, and heres a guy making money off of something you built, its infuriating. -

you baited me back in with this man. There are 2, count em 2, shirtless male bodies in yellow, and I'm no fool, of course they would look strange. Now I'm gonna stop trying to be nice, you're a weirdo who would do anything to disprove what I'm saying, so much so you found the one (of the 2) examples in which I might be wrong. All I'm suggesting is you tools be creative, what you tools are suggesting, is that we shouldnt build with lego, we should pull it out of the box, build it and whine about the lack of diversity. There is no valid follow up to this point, I'm truly done, you can try to dig up a few more undoubtedly male muscly bodies if you want but it wont mean anything to me or my point. Take a look at some of the stuff I post, and some of the stuff those I respect post, in making a custom batgirl, they wouldnt care that the lego batman toros has male muscles, cause they have imagination and a drive to make things and be able to see them with open, creative eyes. No hard feelings guys, I just think you're totally weird (and maybe a little sexist) -

If it looks strange to you to put a female head on a male body, you have issues, sorry, but youre way too invested in the way a body looks. I can see it being strange to put a male head on one of the newer specifically female bodies, seeing as those have hips and bossoms, but I take issue with that, as it suggests there is only one female body type. In most of my customizations, I 86 the female bods altogether and use male bodies as they present a body image in which everyone is square, which is hard to equate to reality. If you spend time analyzing the gender bias of what is meant to be enjoyed as an "anything is possible" toy, you will ruin the experience of that toy. I cant say anymore, I wont respond again, you either get it or you dont. Everyones (in reality) skintone, body size and shape, height, hair color, eye color, cant be represented accurately in lego. There are 3 skin tones and yellow, there are two body types, male and female, if you restrict yourself to these you wont be able to make anything close to real, but that should not be the goal. If lego wanted to be a reflection of real world diversity they would have to introduce a dozen more skintone colors and body types, they cant and shouldnt, you should be able to mix and match to make what you need. Again, there is a gender bias in marketing this product because it is, more so, intended for boys, as suggested by the fact that there is a "girls" line, I do not endorse this separation, but I recognize that this is a way to more effectively market a product and maximize profit, which you cant blame lego for wanting to do. Again I am done, I have made my point clear and I feel I am reaching no one, sooooooo, peace out. Imma go enjoy lego without worrying about gender bias, cause I'm only limited by my own biases and imagination. -
It's the Judge from CMF's robe yes. I thought of an even better head for El, Gaucho (still yellow) the new Luchador head from the Lord Business' lab set, I dont know if ill be able to get it unless it pops up on BL, def not buying that set, my wallet hurts on a weekly basis as is on account of lego. The one I used was the Mohawk Warrior from CMF along with Robo Sheriff's mustache from lego movie set. If anyone could think of an orange torso I could use for Vixen instead of the yellow, I would be super pumped

Hey, Numbah1Nerd, good job with those. Im a big Connor Hawk fan, as he was the Green Arrow in JLA when I began reading DC comics. El Gaucho of Batman Inc. Shinning Knight and Vigilante Vandal Savage Vixen The Creeper thanks for the inspiration on creeper and vigilante guys, idk which of you did em first, but I def got them from here

Thanks, yah maybe its more City like, but this guy resides in my lego Town, didnt even think about the difference.

List the Female Minifigure Leaders
autorazr replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Take "male" pirate soldier body, remove head, give it "female" head (or hair)...boom, female pirate soldier take "male" pirate captain, remove head, give it "female" head (or hair)...boom, female pirate captain is it the adult collector mentality that makes ya'll think this way? Can you not look at a lego Bilbo and see potential to make something else? Or do you just want a little Bilbo to sit on your desk? Maybe I'm just different, there isnt a single assembled set or minifig in my collection, everything gets used to make something else, lego does not dictate the gender or status of my creations, nor should they (and I dont think they intend to) -

It needs to be though, you say its not an attack, but yet by pointing out the poor ratio, you are revealing gender inequality in a product in which there doesnt need to be any, if you use it right. People will see this discussion and use it as a tool in that debate, and theyll win the debate that there is a gender bias in lego, there is not, the bias is in your own imagination. You can say that there are named characters in the sets, but the Lego Movie suggests that the sets arent meant to be taken literally. Obviously this convo was started with some intention to reveal this bias, I just want to play devil's advocate and suggest, there is no need to count powerful women in lego because they are indeed as powerful as you make them. -
yeah, fusion, I especially like how you handled canary's fishnets, using the gray as if it was black sheer over flesh was very clever.
