  1. Paul got a very nice and large write-up on The TechnicBricks Blog. Congrats to the crow. http://technicbricks.blogspot.com/2009/10/...rowkillers.html
  2. Are you talking about the guy that built the all black 8653 Enzo with chrome wheels?
  3. I built Paul's car just using the pictures that he provided at brickshelf, it isn't like he was being secretive or sneaky about his design. Anyone could build it. It is just a matter of spending time tracking down the parts. He even has a link in the auction to his BS folder. I also remember someone from the UK copied his vette engine and sold it on ebay last year. I am not going to say who it was, but the person was a featured builder at technicbricks blogspot.
  4. One more thing that I feel I need to say, Paul sent me some parts that I needed completely for free. I don't know of too many hardcore lego enthusiasts that do that for people. So you guys can say what you want about him selling his designs because he somewhat indirectly spread the wealth to me.
  5. While I personally would never sell any of my creations, I can't argue with Paul selling his. Have any of you seen what kind of money that he gets for his cars? His car is currently at $150 with a $1 starting bid and he just listed it yesterday. I don't think he'll get a ton for it, but he'll make money on it. I also have a feeling that he probably has more than one built because he has new pics up at brickshelf of one with chromed wheels and tan seats with silver engine thingies.
  6. I wonder if he has any extra Red 10L axles. They are the only 2 parts that I don't have to complete this model. The only 2 that I have are on my 8653 Enzo. They are really rare parts. I think the Enzo was the only set that they came in.
  7. Yeah, I have been using them to help me fix the issues that I had when trying to build it from the earlier pictures. It is a very good build and I notice that he changed a few small things. I hope he uploads some body build pictures too, I am lost on the back rear panel. I am thinking about ordering some 8145 chrome wheel covers from www.chromebricks.com I wonder if they got their inspiration to chrome parts from crowkillers ? I might as well order a new crane truck. I tore mine apart to build this car.
  8. I agree completely. I can't believe we have not seen a technic train yet. I guess there really are not too many functions for a train though.
  9. I have seen something very similar to this dones before with a motor switching the switch back and forth. I think someone incorporated it into turn signals.
  10. That is an awesome model. Very, Very nice.
  11. LOL, Obviously if you have a spouse that is into Legos, it is a win-win situation. My wife knows that I like to build, it keeps me home and not out clubbing with my single frineds. She always gives me that death look when a huge box from Lego arrives at the house. :skull:
  12. LOL. When I buy Lego sets, I have to hide them from my wife. Crow finally e-mailed me back. He said everyone is entitled to their opinions about his design. He also sent me some disected pics of his car because I am trying to replicate it. It is a clever model even though it is very simple technically speaking.
  13. No Dif-Box. It is set up exactly the same way as last years Quadbike. One wheel turns the gear, the other is a dummy and does nothing.
  14. I still haven't heard anything back. Well at least we 100% know that this is a MOC now. Meat, When did you talk to him? I have not heard from him since last April, I think. I still didn't get any response from him yet today.
  15. Good Call. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=402607 I am going to e-mail him and see what the big Mystery was all about.
  16. Wow, those small models are HUGE dissapointments.
  17. I am actually impressed with how well the new panels look on this MOC. I have been trying to duplicate this model for the last week, but I need to see more. At first I couldn't figure out why the 20t Bevel gear was behind the rear differential rather than in front, but as I have been building it, I can now see why, the gear actually would make contact with the crank shaft. This model also can't be using the traditional Lego Engine block piece http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/32333 Because where the engine sits, that part would hit top of the rear differential.
  18. Is it breaking when you are trying to lift something with the crane?
  19. I still don't understand why your 12t gear kept breaking. I have that same set and never had a problem. I also don't understand your solution to the problem by adding the Bushings to the axle. Is there something else that you modified also? Could the gear not handle the torque from the Motor?
  20. I guess that I am in the minority here as I think that what this creator did with the headlights looks good. Much better than the Enzo and Fiorano models because it gives them shape, rather than just putting some clear round pieces in there for effect. Those wheel covers look out of place on this type of exotic car, but I give him(Or Her ) a 8/10 for design. I've never seen that done before. Those red axles on the sides of the windshield are 10L (The 8653 set had 2 of them I believe) you can tell the length when you compare them to the 9L red liftarms on the Roof. I am still surprised that no one has come forward to claim this design.
  21. I bet if Lego did make a Ferrari or Lamborghini true supercar with some new style Transmission,Suspension,Steering, and other neat functions, they would still probably categorize it under the "Racers" theme just because of the Ferrari or Lamborghini Brand name.
  22. I agree with that. But then what about the minifig Ferrari sets and other smaller block sets that are also called "Racers"? They don't do anything at all. Or what about one of the smaller technic sets that have maybe one function? Let's take the 8653 set, It features a working steering system, a neat mechanism(Although seems to come apart quite often when closing the doors) that uses 10L damped shocks that open the doors, and rear wheel drive that works a V-12 engine. How is this not a Technic model? I can't see placing it in the same category as 8144 Ferrari F1 team minifig set. Or even the new 8169 Gallardo set.
  23. This definitely falls into the racers theme, but it is also built with all technic parts. One thing that I could never figure out is where is the line drawn between what makes a set "Technic" or a "Racer" other than what the box says? I consider the 8653, 8145, 8674, 8386, all of the Nitro Muscle, Meanace, Intimidator and 8461 Williams F1 all Technic sets in that they all are built with Technic and all have some type of working functions. I agree that this without a doubt, needs a color change. I think we have enough Red Models. White would be awesome. Here are 3 of the Other pictures.
  24. Not bad considering there isn't alot to work with.
