He's way too small to be a bigfig though, he'll most likely use the gorilla fist piece from Chima or a completely new mold if he ever gets released.

Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors

Netflix isn't as popular among kids in many countries, as opposed to TV cartoon channels. -

What does that even have to do with anything? I was pretty confident about what I was saying. And just because I'm not nice doesn't make my arguments any less legitimate. It is not, but whatever. This is not a place for such discussion. -
Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors

Just throwing in my 2 cents, the sets shelfwarm pretty hard in my country too (the toy store I go to in one of the biggest shopping malls in the city I live in still has Jyn Ersos on the shelves, and lots of kids roll through that place (I visit it quite often), not to mention how terribly these sets were selling in my hometown, but, granted, it was a much smaller place), so I don't think it's a UK-specific occurance. I was actually thorn whether or not I should reply to this post, seeing your other posts on the SW sub-forum, how you were so stubborn that nothing I'd write would really change your mind, and how you edited the post I was replying to in order for it to better support your latter reply (for the record, you actually did say you were certain that these two sets are not cancelled, just because I worded it differently and didn't quote you 1:1 doesn't make my reply less legitimate and I was not, in fact, "desperate to find stuff that will support my point here"; I also find it funny how you deleted that bit in the latter edit. The only thing I have to admit I was wrong about is the bit about less sets being released in each wave - I was pretty sure that Lego was still releasing these figures in the standard 2-wave formula, not this weird 3-wave one, and the only brickset list I managed to find didn't list all of the CCBS Star Wars sets so, my bad here). But, I'm glad Sir von Lego actually cleared things up and proved that you were wrong all along, despite you acting so confident about stuff you had no possible way of being 100% sure about. -

You're even more delusional than I thought, but that's okay, you can believe what you want. However, the mere fact there is a (granted, not confirmed) statement about these sets being cancelled/not realesed in the US, along with the official NYTF PR statement is the evidence. Even you yourself stated that you're 100% certain that these 2 sets will only see release in the EU. If the previous constraction sets sold like hotcakes, why would that even happen? It's true that LEGO still makes these, but have you noticed that there's less sets each wave? Ever thought that this might have to do something with the sales? Also if you never heard me saying anything positive about constraction, then you're clearly new on this forum. Also it's not that hard to check and see that I post constraction MOCs on deviantart and various other sites, and I very much enjoy making new builds using the CCBS, the OG Bionicle system, or mixing both. But yeah man, I sure hate constraction :) -

Except I'm not the only person around here who observed these sets shelfwarming, but whatever floats your boat buddy. And I'm glad you like the sets, good for you, although I'd personally prefer the system to be used in something more creative and interesting rather than the same bland copy-paste builds this line is known for. -
Star Wars Constraction 2018 Discussion & Rumors
Voxovan replied to VBBN's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Literally every toy store I go to has these sets shelfwarming, I've spoken with some of the employees and also saw a bunch of posts on various websites coming from Lego store employees from around the world, they can tell you these sets just don't want to sell at all. Like, one of them even said that they still have a full stock of Jyn Ersos (set released in 2016, mind you, and it's almost 2018) and they have no idea what to do with them because literally nobody wants to buy them. Besides, these sets are very bland, it's literally the same build over and over again, large pieces that make the building process less interesting, but the worst thing about is the price - these sets are WAY overpriced. No wonder nobody wants to buy them, it's just waste of money. I have no idea why Lego keeps making those sets, but I can assure you their sales are pretty bad. -
Tbh the face kinda ruins the otherwise fantastic model. I'd suggest swapping the eyes for something less... nightmare inducing.

I think they need more watermarks. -
Isn't that the logic behind all these rip-offs of blockbuster movies? And yes, it would be getting hurt by Star Wars. Even more than Bionicle probably.
-
Actually that's not true, there's also Melea, Ako and Oda from the third book :P
-
Lol it was obviously Izotor in the last scene ._. How can anyone confuse a white and blue character with the exact same armor placement as Izotor with gold and blue Ekimu?

And I disagree about this. Say, how many people from your target demographic actually attended NYCC? It's a very small percentage if we're talking about the kids from the whole world - which is what the theme was aimed at. Own official Facebook page? And how many people who don't know what Bionicle is would find it? Same with the designer videos? Kids who had no interest in Lego before had like no chance of finding those, simply because they weren't really advertised outside Lego communities. SDCC exclusives? Again, very few of your customers would go there. TV spots? You mean those things that like, every other theme has? Not to mention they were hardly a thing in most countries outside US. Insert in the LEGO Magazine? Again, available only for those who were into Lego before. Displays in Targets and TRU? Cool, especially in countries were shops like that don't exist. Mobile apps that weren't really advertised anywhere? Yeah, I'm sure a lot of effort went into their marketing. Netflix series? Yeah, because it surely would be more succesful than an actual TV series. Not to mention JtO was hardly advertised anywhere. Oh, and don't even get me started on the chapter books, graphic novels and the magazine. We should've gotten all of this in the very first wave, the fact that we got the graphic novel covering the plot from the first half of 2015 in literally one of the last days of 2015 is downright ridiculous, same with the magazine, which was released at the time it was basically a fact that the theme is dead. Lego released all of this material way too late, if they actually put some money and effort into releasing them at the beginning of 2015 it would actually give Bionicle a lot of more media presence, which would only benefit the theme. Again, for people who weren't into Lego Bionicle may as well never return, because it's media presence outside Lego communities was almost nonexistent.
-
It's really a shame because the designer team and people behind the story really did a fantastic job, but someone higher decided the theme's not worth spending any money on advertising campaign. I believe this is the main fault of the theme's failure - no marketing whatsoever, barely any TV ads, contests that no people outside Lego communities would even know about, a magazine released when it was basically known the theme's dead and so on... if there's anyone to blame, it's mostly Lego. Though I'd be laying if I said I didn't see that coming. Also lol @ those people who were so confident that we'll get a third year. You never know what's gonna happen, buddies.

A theme with little to no marketing gets discountinued? What a surprise.

Well, seems like it's over. No 2017 :c

It was literally just this year's logo with MoUP slapped in the place of MoCo. That's all.

Discussion: LEGO Bionicle Makuta Contest
Voxovan replied to Toa Palpo's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Why do people think that the MoUP was purple in the flashback? It was obviously black with pruple smoke covering it. Also, nowhere in the 2015 animations we've seen that the MoUP is red and black. Actually, we didn't even see it at all - only a dark smoke with red eyes and six protrusions sticking out of it (which is actually surprisingly accurate to the final version). Also, mind you, the Makuta model from JtO doesn't have any purple on it - it's mostly black, with some gold and red thrown here and there. The only "black and purple" Makuta we've seen so far is the Overlord version from the contest video, and we still don't know if it has any relevance in the canon. -
By that logic, Hahli Inika absorbed Bordakh because she had his lower legs as forearms... Really, just because a model uses parts we've seen in other model doesn't mean anything... it's Lego after all.

Speaking of which, when will we see the rest of the interview? :P

Discussion: LEGO Bionicle Makuta Contest
Voxovan replied to Toa Palpo's topic in LEGO Action Figures
I think the "Overlord Makuta", as the designers called him, is the closest one to be released as an actual set, given he has the most finished and coherent look out of all versions and also is the only one to feature new pieces... but he would cost over 35$, and what was the last time we've seen a constraction set with that price tag?
