  1. "I think the well is as good a place to start as any."
  2. "I was always partial to Bric'beth, though I sadly have never had the opportunity to see it performed live. As much as I would love to sit here and discuss the theater with you, we have been hired for a job and one must have their priorities. Have you interacted with any of the hostile creatures or spirits in this graveyard. Could you perhaps give us some information to help us stop them and protect for the more distinguished residents like yourself?"
  3. OOC: Ooh, good game! "I'll take one of those remedies, you never know when one might come in handy." Jeaux handed the groundskeeper 10 gold pieces in exchange for the remedy leaving himself with only 15 gold remaining. Jeaux turned toward Stigveladi, "I'm ready to leave whenever you are, Have we decided where to venture first?"
  4. Jeaux glanced over the items. They were the same things he could get in the Eubric Marketplace for approximately the same prices. Jeaux thought there might be more this groundskeeper could provide than he was aware of. "I've heard the Mausoleum can be something of a maze. I don't suppose you might have a map of that area, being a grounds keeper and all."
  5. OOC: For lover's grove, will the creature return to a tree that was already disturbed? "I agree, the well might be a good place to start. After we visit Mr Timmin of course." Jeaux didn't like the idea of hunting spirits. The dead should be able to rest in peace, not spending the rest of eternity antagonizing the living. The entire idea of fighting those who had already lost their lives filled him with an immense sadness. With any luck, we may be able to return these spirits to their rest. OOC: If Lover's Grove and Tombstone Row are both random chance, then our odds don't look good for either. I figure we have a 50% chance of finding the monster before ruining Lover's Grove and a 41.7% chance in Tombstone Row.
  6. "We should wait for our fifth member to arrive before we take any immediate actions. If we were to go searching around the property, we might unwarily stumble into a fight unprepared or he may be unable to locate us once he arrives." Jeaux looked back to the horse, "We are not afraid of the dangers the night may pose, though I am concerned for you. What kind of master would leave his horse unguarded in such a dangerous place, and so close to sunset."
  7. OOC: He still has about 10 hours to confirm, so he may yet show. Otherwise, perhaps the most recent arrival to Heroica would be interested in joining the quest. "I am a human, the same as yourself, and while I haven't spent much time studying biology, I'm fairly certain I have a brain." The automaton had grown used to this sort of question, though he never quite understood why people continued to think he was something inhuman.
  8. "I agree with Stigveladi, once the fifth member of our party appears we should make our way inside the church."
  9. Jeaux heard the dwarf announce herself and turned around. He recognized the name, it was the dwarf Nessa had mentioned in her story. The one she had been following. Jeaux considered asking the dwarf what he knew about the elf, but decided to hold off for now. There were slightly more pressing concerns and he would rather get more acquainted with the dwarf before confronting her. "My name is Jeaux,". He then turned to the mage who had addressed only a short while ago, "with no titles or honorifics like Master or this Robot word. I was just asking our equine friend here where we might find our employer." Jeaux relayed what he had learned from the horse to the rest of his companions.
  10. "I'm afraid I'm all out of muffins. If I come across any I'll be sure to save one for you. Who is your master if not Father McCreary?" OOC: I should have 25 gold, I forgot to update it when I was adding the consumables.
  11. I like Reno more for a few reasons. A) He's a classical pirate which is kind of cool B) Reno is a cool name C) He believes in free trade which I happen to be a fan of Also, he's worked with the Ji Pei before, if he is in charge that may stop the rivalry between the two houses which could mean a good rep in both houses be good for Eubric.
  12. The art in all of the quests is looking top notch. I really like the water effects in the first image for quest 62. Also, that drawing program is pretty cool. I created Jeaux in it, which was actually fairly easy. I deleted about as much as I added.
  13. Jeaux cast his gaze about the cemetery. It would seem he was the first to arrive and their patron was nowhere in sight. Jeaux addressed the horse currently supporting the hearse. "Excuse me fine steed, but might you know the location of Father McCreary? I believe my party and I are supposed to be meeting with him."
  14. Jeaux watched as Nessa left the hall. He thought about her last words to him before departing. That was usually his plan, but it was nice to know that someone would miss him if he were to fail. He finished his drink before retiring for the night. The next morning, he noticed a peculiar message on the wall. It did not look like the work of a mortal being. The message seemed to indicate he had been chosen for the quest in the local graveyard, but who might have chosen him. The request was from a Father McCreary, but this hardly seemed like the work of a man of the cloth. Jeaux departed the hall, and made his way to the cemetary. Perhaps the father might be able to shine some light on the mysterious circumstances.
  15. Jeaux stops by Portia's Potion Shack to stock up on supplies for the upcoming quest. He picks up 4 Potions for 5 gold each and 3 Holy bombs for 10 gold each. Leaving the marketplace with 25 gold coins remaining. 75 gold - (5 * 4) - (3 * 10) = 25 gold
  16. There's a bonus boss fight, if they players want to engage in it, where having elemental weapons will be very useful.
  17. They wouldn't be in the middle of the battle. The quest has a fight about half-way through with color-coded enemies. Those enemies drop weapons associated with their colors. Then the enemies in the "Boss Battle" drop energizers to unlock the elemental properties of the weapons. The blue weapon would be water based, the purple weapon would be darkness, etc. That way I could drop the weapons earlier in the quest, where they made sense with the enemies being fought, drop some decent loot in the boss fight (make the weapons elemental), and not give out a tremendous amount of loot overall.
  18. I had a similar idea for a quest I am working on. I wanted to give out a few elemental weapons as they will be very useful in one of the battles, but the fight where I wanted to give out the weapons is a little ways before the boss fight. I thought it might be a good idea to drop color coded weapons as loot, and then drop a couple "engergizers" in the boss fight that would unlock the elemental properties of the weapons.
  19. Warlock looks pretty cool. I think it might work better if the demon's stats were something like Level = 30 + Master's level HP = 100 + Master's HP It would make the demon more powerful as the warlock improved, and once the demon broke free it wouldn't clobber the party quite so quickly, since it would no longer have a master Also, just running the numbers there is a 58% chance of not rolling something other than a shield 3 rounds in a row, which means most of the time a demon is summoned, the master would lose control of it. Even with the Grimoire of greater suffering summoning the odds drop to 33.5%, much better, but still a 1/3 shot of losing control. Edit: Fixed a typo
  20. It isn't foolish to gamble, as long as you do so for entertainment and not an investment. Now playing a game with a 50% payback like Triple Magic, that is a pretty foolish thing to do.
  21. Dr. Jekyll's Laboratory Designed for Mr. Good and Evil The first MOC I've done that I felt comfortable enough with to upload an image to the internet.
  22. "I hope they lead you down the right path, and if not at least you will know more about their intentions. If you find yourself overcome again, I'm always willing to provide an ear and a shoulder to lean on." "Um, no" A question mark formed on the automaton's face as he was quite honestly baffled by this question. "Don't mention it. Of all the atrocities the Apprentice committed that was by far the worst. His cousin mentioned that one should never steal a life, but stealing a life is nothing compared to stealing a will. I hope the Stealer does not employ the same despicable tactics"
  23. If an item or ability can be interpreted in more than one way, then I would say it is up to the discretion of the QM.
  24. "I'm afraid not. Since he is somewhat of a nomad, it was almost impossible for us to keep in touch after we parted ways. You mention you found something you were not looking for? I know what you were searching for, but you have not yet told me what it is you found."
  25. "About a year ago I was attacked and left for dead at the side of a road. A wizard that happened to be passing by managed to save me just before death and nursed me back to health over the next few months. During that time I learned much about magic. While I'll always be grateful to the wizard for saving me, the spell he used came at a great cost. I lost my memories and he lost his mind, or part of it anyway. I asked him about once and he said that he had found the missing piece, but it was no longer within his reach." Jeaux wondered how the old man was doing. It was hard for him to leave Nirlem like he did since that wizard was the only connection Jeaux had in life, but if the ranger wanted to find any answers to the questions that plagued his past, he wasn't going to find them with a traveling magician.
