  1. Thank you for the warm welcome, I'm looking forward to interacting with a few of the other players and participating in a quest, once one opens up. I don't know if steampunk would be the right term since there is no steam involved in his operation. I was thinking more along the lines of the automaton from the movie Hugo when I came up with the character. I have a couple ideas for the origin and behavior of the character that should make him fun to play and provide a few role playing opportunities.
  2. They could always read the 723 pages in the Rules & Discussion thread, and the 55 quest threads. I recently found this site and this game and I thought it looked like a blast. I've been reading through some of the early quests(up to quest 7 at the moment) to get a better idea of how the game is played, the only issue with that is some of the mechanics changing in those early quests, and some of the QMs were learning the rules along with the players. Most of the game seems fairly straight forward though. As for what elements are more useful, or what stats people need to focus on, that seems like it would depend on the quests being created, and would probably require people to spend a decent amount of time reading all of the quests so far. or a helpful player guide by one of the legendary experienced heroes that have been saving the world for years now.
  3. The doors to the hall opened as a mysterious figure passed through them. This man seemed to be made of metal and wood, and the sound of clicking gears could be heard as he stepped into the hall. He was painted a pale white color and dressed in a brown coat and black cloak, a sling of arrows hanging over his shoulder. He strode up to the bar and addressed the person serving drinks, "I've heard the stories and legends surrounding the heroes of heroica. I'd like to think I fit the bill when it comes to hero material. I don't suppose you would know if anyone was in need of my services at the moment." The bartender replied, "You can check the quest board downstairs, but I don't think there are any open requests at the moment." "Very well, I'll have G&T while I wait. I understand the first drink's free."

  5. I don't know why, but the little tardis actually reminds me of seeing the tardis appear in a lot of the old doctor who episodes. It might be the way the light reflects off the inside of the brick, or the transparent piece holding it up, either way it is a pretty cool effect. The intricacy of the building and the cliff face also do a lot to add to the scene. All very well done.
  6. Both this and the X-wing gundam are amazing. You did a great job of merging the giant robot style with the design of each ship to make them recognizable. I'm looking forward to see what comes next.
  7. I was trying to build a stand that would hold the ship at an angle, but I was having some trouble designing something stable enough to keep it up. Any ideas from some of the more experienced lego aficionados?
  8. I love the rifle on his back. The whole model is really well done and you did an amazing job of maintaining the scale between everything.
  9. I didn't realize the lighting was part of the MOC at first. It really completes the whole package.
  10. That is amazing, so many different representations of a chicken and all of them are terrific.
  11. I love the idea. If they want to bring back the original cast then I don't think they could hope for anything but this as a result :-). The minifigs look like a perfect fit for an old Han Solo and Leia.
  12. My first thought after seeing the whole thing was HOLY ****!!! I've seen some impressive lego displays, but I have never seen something that large with that level of detail and imagination. It is a work of art and I want to thank you for taking pictures and giving me the opportunity to glimpse it.
  13. I finally sorted all of my lego pieces just after Christmas this year. I was storing all of my character pieces (heads, bodies, accesories, etc.) in a freestyle bin, and all of my other legos were in 2 large tupperware bins. I went to the store and bought a set of sandwich and snack size ziplock bags then sorted the bricks by color and type into those. Those bags were then placed in gallon sized ziplocs sorted by color and placed back into the bins they started in. It was cheap and took the same amount of space after, but it is much easier to build things now, since I can actually find the pieces I'm looking for.
  14. After attempting to drive to my parent's house for christmas and turning around 2 hours into the trip due to a snow storm, I was passing through Walmart and decided Santa was going to get me something fun for Christmas. I picked up the Sith Interceptor, and had a wonderful time building it Christmas day.
  15. I recently joined the web-site and it seems this is the place to start! I was a big fan of lego growing up and while I never quite gave it up, I did start to focus on other things as I got older. I've toyed with the idea of picking it up again over the years, and after buying myself the sith interceptor for Christmas I decided to start playing with it again. I spent about 4 days sorting all of my legos into ziplock bags and I've started looking over the internet for good ideas and strategies for model building. After perusing the internet this seemed to be the best community for discussing lego and learning from people that have a strong grasp of the subject. So to sum it all up... Hi!
