Jeaux felt his life forced drained once more. This time to such an extent he could no longer remain conscious. As the darkness enveloped him, Jeaux felt a sharp tug pull him out of the inky black. He awoke with a start to find two other members of the party recovering from the violent attack. The automaton picked up his handcannon from where it had fallen and Fired a round at the remaining gnome once more from the back row. OOC: Can I get an action for Soryx, I'll post the battle order once I do or in ~6 hours otherwise. Also, if the shade deals its special damage, does that mean the round is immediately over since all of the heroes disappear? Or is "they" referring to the shade?

This is in reference to 98, but I figured I'd ask the question here rather than get too much more out of character responses. Since these two quotes directly contradict each other, I was wondering which one you want to go with.

OOC: Jeaux's thunder summon (Nilrem Thunder Mode) should have been used since it is first in the order (only one in the order actually), and Transcended would have restored the point of ether. Also, blessed doesn't seem to have worked. "Yeach!, ug that tasted like liquorice root. What was that thing." "You were consumed by some form of darkness, you are back to your usual self I suppose, and we are in battle once again." "You never just want to talk. Why isn't it, Hi Nilrem have a nice cup of tea. No, you always want me to come pull your megablocks out of the latest fire you've stepped into. I have half a mind to... hold the smoke signal. Isn't he with you?" "He also has been consumed by some form of darkness. Perhaps you can use your conversation skills to talk him down." "Sure, or possibly some other skills, whatever seems appropriate." Jeaux heads out with the rest of the party back to the Baron.

"Potions and concoctions seem to affect me just as they would any organic being. I suspect it is related the magical properties of the chemicals involved. We seem to have done a full sweep of the room. I do not expect to find more evidence regarding the disappearance. Perhaps we should move on to the next location, and see if there are any more clues to explain the kidnappings."

"If this device behaves similarly, then it may have painted what occurred here." Jeaux searched through the mechanical parts looking for any pieces of parchment.

Jeaux placed the Amethyst in his briefcase next to the Topaz Jeaux walked over to the crate of mechanical parts to take a closer look. "What exactly was this painting machine? What was its function?"

Jeaux notices the multiple dark spots on the wall. He takes a closer look at the wall to try and determine why those areas did not reflect any of the light from his spell.

"It is worth a shot, though I'm not sure how long the light will last. Lightning typically is not known for its duration." Jeaux withdrew the divine handcannon from a sling on his back, hoping the etherial energy produced by it would help him generate some sustained illumination. He then cast a lightning spell trying to focus his energy on the light output instead of the damage it dealt.

and after both sides watch the bridge and their armies fall in battle, not at the hand of their opponents, but as a direct result of their own lust for conflict and vengeance. The leaders meet to try and put an end to the fighting, deciding that enough people have already died as a result, finally achieving the peace that everyone has been working so hard for.

Jeaux continues to look around the shop for a light source. They must have had someway of lighting the shop, or they would not have had much business. As he sees Em walk outside with a stack of letters and papers, he calls out to the warden, "Anything in those documents that may help identify the culprits behind these disappearances?"

Jeaux searches for a window to open and let in some of the light from outside.

"Perhaps there is another alternative." Jeaux opens a small compartment in the side of his briefcase, placing his hand near the opening. A small fly buzzes out of the briefcase landing on his palm. <"Hello Turdwing, I am in need of your assistance."> <"I don't know big pooper, you coop me up in that cornhole for weeks without so much as a piece of shit to snack on. Why should I help you?"> <"The residents of this city have been disappearing. If that includes the sanitation workers, then there is likely plenty for you to snack on here."> <"Holy crap of the great feceles, you're right. I can smell it now!"> <"If you watch these two individuals while I scout around the town, you can have your pick of the waste when we're through."> <"You got it big pooper! I'll keep all my eye segments on em!"> <"If anything happens to them while I am away, come and notify me immediately."> "Unless one of you has an objection, this fly should be able to notify us if the kidnappers arrive, and in the event are unable to reach the baron in time, he should at least be able to give us more information regarding the kidnapper's appearance and methods."
