"I do not believe I am, but I may not be the best source of information about myself. It seems I am still learning what it is to be me. I would be willing to take a look if you would like."

Jeaux walks into the hall. Seeing Johon drinking alone, he approaches the table. "I believe these are yours", Jeaux says while holding out the Amethyst and Diamond Johon had lent him earlier, "Perhaps you might be willing to sell them, they seemed quite effective during the battle."

My impressions of the quest as a whole. The lack of a party leader was a problem. It made battles more confusing, the loot distribution ended up being first come first serve which is not a solid system in my book. If I am ever on a quest in the future that lacks a defined party leader, Jeaux will insist on one being declared at the beginning. The loot seemed quite un-even. Again, with a first come, first serve system the first people to post took the best pieces of loot and left the rest for later. Also the loot for investigating the housing area was significantly less than the loot for attacking Jetorix. After a 5-month quest Jeaux walked away with 2XP, 308 gold, 1 smelling salt, and 1 jinxy juice, and was down 1 phoenix essence from the Iris fight. It seemed there was some loot available for cracking the password on the locked chest, but from my perspective that would have been stealing from my employers and outside Jeaux's character. The lack of prior knowledge wasn't too harmful, as I typically just asked questions with Jeaux and made more sense since he knew almost as little as I did. It was a little disjointing when we met up with the rest of the party and were being pushed off towards another fight with someone, somewhere, for some reason, but part of that was my choosing to ignore the elements of the quest Jeaux was not present for. All in all, it was not your best quest. The story seems to have some decent elements and I look forward to the following quest where some of these elements will present themselves a bit further.

Jeaux places the 268 gold in his briefcase. "It is fortunate the leadership of the colony survived the attack. You should be able to rebuild from the damage quickly and have your colony up and running in a short while. If you are in need of assistance, remember to contact Heroica in the future."- 823 replies

We were payed to stop the attacks by humans and resolve the delays to construction. Neither of those tasks required the death of Iris. Jeaux picked up a couple remedies to replace the ones he had used in the battle, along with the vial of smelling salts and the second Jinxy Juice.- 823 replies

I tend to see an avatar as a visual representation of the poster, so these days I try to avoid changing it too frequently. My current one is a LEGO version of an avatar I made in 2005 if I recall correctly.

"As I said before, her life holds no significance at this point. She was a pawn, too clueless to even see her own status in the scheme of these plans. She will be of little use to us even if she does survive. I have no reason to kill her, but I also have no reason to save her at this point, so I leave my choice in the hands of Solon and Fydelle. If they feel it necessary to save the one who devastated this colony, then I will accept their judgement."- 823 replies

"Feel free to kill her. I doubt her life will have any significant impact on events to come, and as such, neither will her death. Perhaps Solon or Fydelle should weigh in on this decision. It was their colony that she attacked after all."- 823 replies

The problem with a short battle is it can be very volatile. Either the heroes get good rolls and stomp the boss, or they get bad rolls and are steamrolled as a result. If the fight is a bit longer, it can be more predictable since there will be more die rolls and it will more closely represent an even distribution. Nostrums just emphasize this all the more, as a short fight with lucky heroes can often mean 0 negative rolls in the entire battle.

OOC: Regret has fingers? As soon as Jeaux saw the scroll pass hands, an intense pain sparked in the deep recesses of his mind. He wasn't sure how, but he knew that scroll held the spell that had turned him into this, bound his soul to a machine and destroyed what once made him human. Perhaps it also contained the means by which he could return to his former self. He watched helplessly as the scroll disappeared from view feeling a sudden urge to attack regret, though after watching the display of power against Johon, Jeaux thought better. He may not be able to recover the scroll at the moment, but it would likely not be the last opportunity he would have. As the regret bragged about his self-proclaimed unlimited power, a comparison began to form in Jeaux's mind, "Do you know of someone called The Eternal Reaper?"- 823 replies

Jeaux dismisses the demonic beast that could only have been Nilrem, and observes the two creatures that had appeared after Iris's defeat. "You are another leader of the Oculoids and you are the "White Devil"? Why did you not aid your companion and what are your plans now?"- 823 replies

I thought hexed meant the hero would simply target a random hero with a normal attack. The hero himself (or herself) had no control over their actions.

OOC: If we go with my suggested battle order, the battle will be over with 0 risk of damage and we might save a phoenix essence thanks to roots of life. If Em is still unconscious, Jeaux uses a phoenix essence to revive him, otherwise Jeaux watches the carnage while Nilrem finishes off Iris with a swift swipe of his claw- 823 replies

As Jeaux aims to fire his cannon, an inky darkness appears on the field of battle. It almost looks less like something than nothing. A gap in the very fabric of reality. A beast clad in black with sharp thorns running down its side emerges from the hole shortly before the world fills the void. Jeaux can see a gray metal sphere near the front that looks familiar. "Nilrem? Is that you?" "Deeaatthh" Jeaux watches as the creature lashes out with his metallic claw at Iris. He hears Erdathcath attempting to shout orders, but there is a confusion to her voice. It seemed as if she had been hexed by Iris and did not know what she was doing. Jeaux reaches into his briefcase and withdraws his last remedy. Uncorking it and tossing it (the Remedy) at Erdathcath, before she has a chance to do anything she may regret.- 823 replies

OOC: Given that battle order, and if I understand the rules correctly, Iris will have 32SP when you attack her. Also, like I said earlier, you should put all attacks against the dark tentacles at the beginning to reduce the damage dealt by their special damage, and if we kill too many tentacles before taking down Iris we will be getting hexed on a regular basis when fighting her. Suggested Battle Order Fydelle attacks Dark Tentacle A (back) Sarge attacks Dark Tentacle B (back) Johon attacks Dark Tentacle B (back) Erdathcath attacks Tentacle A (back) Em attacks Tentacle B (back) Johon attacks Tentacle C (back) Sarge attacks Tentacle D (back) Erdathcath attacks Iris (back) Nilrem attacks Iris Jeaux dismisses Nilrem Punii creates destructive bomb of Darkness and gives it to Solon- 823 replies

"From the look of our enemies, it seems there are a few elements of a strategy we should focus on. Whoever attacks the Black Tentacles should be the first into the fray, as to limit the damage from their dark blast. It would be good for Fydelle to focus on one of them, as he might be able to steal one of those jinxy juices to use on Iris herself. All of the tentacles should be targetted before Iris, and probably by weaker heroes to prevent Iris from hexing anyone."- 823 replies
