Yeah, there's definitely some kind of sinister looking castle in the distance, and I'm a sucker for evil looking castles. There's also a white dragon that's missing, which we can assume is the captive dragon, and the black well is probably some sort of villainous marker or something. Really loving the dragons and the colours. The buildings look really good, too, especially the market which looks really nice. Can't wait to see this villainous castle!

Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
QM Note: Waiting on K-Nut. If he doesn't say anything soon, I'll roll this along. -
Quest 144 is now up! Sorry for the delay! "If you must." Karie takes a drink. "I joined this organization to find my fortune, not to back some political donkey's agenda." Karie backed her drink away as the crow landed on the table. "I think it wants something off of you."

It didn't take long for the party to distinguish which house was Ernesto's. Trees with marvellously coloured leaves grew out of one of the house's windows as tropical birds foreign to the area nested in it's branches. Strange animals ran around the front of the property, and what looked like water trickled out of a sealed window, the occasional fish darting past. It was a peculiar sight in it's own right, but sitting outside the front door a dirty young elf sat on a chair, scanning the street. He was well dressed, but his clothes were dirty with soot. When he saw the party, he waved them over. "Callooh, kallay, I'm relieved to see you've arrived!" The young elf jumps out of his chair and dusted himself off. "My name is Ernesto Homawae, but please call me Ernesto. I have much to discuss with you, but, um, is everyone here? I don't want to delve into my plight without someone from your group here!" QM Note: Welcome to 144! Check your stats and ensure everything is in order. If you bought items at the Marketplace, let me know. Sorry for the delay, but now that things are set in motion, we should hopeful have a good time. Let's get this party started!

Karie scoffs. "Well, I wouldn't say that about everyone here, but some of the people here aren't complete megablocks." Karie takes another drink of the rum, noting it's spice. "Who am I backing? None of them. I don't like any of them. I like the Zeigfrieds for the most part, but I can't stand dealing with the Hinckwells. I never cared for the Shadeux and their lot, and Ulric... I've got issues with Ulric, despite agreeing with some of his stances. It's complicated."

Throlar attempts to grab the torch, but finds it fastened into it's post. It wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. -
Karie picks the drink up off the table and uncorks it, taking a swig. "Agreed. I don't trust Ulric at all with his little Brigade, but I'm even more wary of people in this hall standing up to be king." Karie took another drink. "Name's Karie, Karie Alderflask."
-
Karie wandered back into the hall after a night out. She made her way up the stairs and stretched. "Tell me about it." Karie commented. She grabbed a seat and sat down next to the stranger. --- "Are you an expert in avian species, sir? I, um, am kind of wondering why there's a crow around here. We don't have a bird infestation, do we?" Annienal asked, looking up at the rafters.

Since October. I've gotten a lot more work done on it since I took the photo, but this is the best image I could find of it. I'll take more pictures and post them in the train tech forum when I get some time.

Annienal puts her book down and gestures the crow away. "This is no place for you, Mr. Crow. Shoo!"

"I"ll be following you shortly then. I'm going to ensure the guard is on alert. Don't do anything rash." von Zarovitch gives the party a judgemental look before galloping off. The party heads off to the Manor and finds the streets empty. There's not a soul to be found. Making it to the Manor Gates, the party look up to find the moon at it's peak. It's midnight. The gates to Lyudmila's estate had been unchained. The guard was no longer at his post, and the iron gates blew in the breeze, creaking loudly. Stepping beyond them, the party came to the front of the imposing home of Countess Lyudmila. The building seemed to have no light coming out of it, infant the area was unnaturally dark, with the exception being a single lit torch on the path leading to the building's front porch. Perhaps the party was finally going to get some answers as to what was going on here... -
So a little while ago I said I was working on a new train display, and I said I'd share some of the build when I had a chance. Well, you guys are getting a sneak peak before I post more to the Train thread! The Pen is Mightier than the Sword will start either tomorrow or Thursday. I've had some things come up that have forced me to put it aside, but now that I'm relatively free until Christmas I'm putting time in to get this stuff done.

Heroica RPG- Quest #137: Where the Dead Go to Live
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Sorrow and Vindsval head back to the ratty house to meet up with Throlar and Althior. By the time they do it's the middle of the evening. As the two approach, they find a familiar face outside of the house. He looks sternly at them from atop his horse. "Well, er, they're right over there, and the other two are in the house-" "Thank you, Derelict, you can leave now. I have business to attend to. Where are your other two companions, Sorrow, Vindsval? I seek to speak with them as well." -
Well the quest isn't up yet, so take some time. It'll be up either tonight or tomorrow, I wound up getting a little preoccupied today but I promise the quest will be up before the weekend.
-
Definitely on top. Wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean. Updates will be rolling out tomorrow both for Where the Dead Go to Live and The Pen is Mightier than the Sword. Apologies for the delay, I've been feeling really sick and haven't had a lot of time to sit down and get things done. Really sorry, guys.

Karie sits down with a cup of yuletide spirit as she begins penning her list to old Father Grogmas. Dear Grog the Red. I haven't done this... ever, so this is may be a little sloppy in executio pacing, so forgive me for that. I also find myself hating more people than I usually do, so please forgive me if things get a little irate. Okay, here we go. For Arthur, who never seems to be around, I figured you're lugging enough armour and stuff around so have a Bright Polish. I know you're going all armour and stuff so maybe it'd help. For Sorrow, my only direct living family (that I know of), a set of Robes of the Archmagi, seeing how you've gone all necromancer and stuff, which is cool. For Jinnipher, the prospective lover, I'd like something for both her and her lover boy, perhaps a Shackles of War, wink wink, nudge nudge. For Calamity, something for her to repent for her devilish ways, perhaps something along the lines of a Demon Repellant so that she can begin murdering demons instead of worshipping them. For Lawrence, because old habits die hard, a Syndicate Cowl, (SP: 2, provides immunity to the Doomed effect. Headwear.) For Lind Whisper, a new Trickster's Mask of the Elf. Make of it what though will. For Dyric Rone, a boot to the head. For Em, a Glass Eyeball (consumable, when consumed, the user can permanently see the stats of enemies before combat begins, usable by Em), mainly because I hate seeing him running around all mopey and depressed and he needs to stop wearing that garish eyepatch. For Skrall, a grating stone, hopefully as a sign that I get what he did back in Moone and although I was pissed off I totally understand the position you were in and I'm sorry for being angry with you and not saying it to your face. For Monk Pretzel, a new buddy of mine, I'd love to see you get some Demon Repellant for when you do finally come across some big old nasty demon and you can just shoo it away. Karie looked at her work and began tapping her pen on the page as she realized something. "Why has it never occurred to me that almost all of my friends are men?"

I have no real excitement for BvS to begin with, so this trailer did little for me. I will say that Ben Affleck looks great as Batman, but this film looks so densely packed with plot. Batman fighting Superman, Lex Luthor, Wonderwoman, Doomsday, Superman's personal army, the whole "should superheroes be allowed to operate"; this film looks to be all over the place and has no real focus. My theory is that DC and WB are clamouring to get the Justice League set up in universe so they can compete with Marvel, but they're not realizing what made Marvel successful. There were five movies before the Avengers which set up the universe and our heroes, so that when they do come together for the team up film we don't need to spend a lot of time introducing all of them. I have a lot more hope for Suicide Squad, actually, because that film seems to actually have a focus and actually has a followable plot, unlike BvS.
