Peering inside the party gets their first glimpse of Ernesto's house... or what remained of it. The entire house's insides didn't reflect its outside at all, almost as if his house's door was a portal to another realm of being. The floor was a cold stone with the odd piece of debris littering the stonework. What was most peculiar though was the various doors lining the walls and the decor that was creeping across the floors. Each door was surrounded by various pieces of scenery and objects to help distinguish each other. The only familiar item left in the room was a table with a lantern on it. To the party's right, a wooden door surrounded by wooden walls lay, water leaking from underneath it. A creaking noise seemed to emanate from behind the walls here. Close to it seemed to be the entrance to mine. It was hard to make out what lay behind the iron gate, but various wooden beams and crystals grew around the area surrounding the door. The door next to the cavern entrance seemed to be made out of sandstone, a large anubis head carved into it. Sand and various pieces of ruined rock littered the floor. The sand occasionally blew about, covering up the grass next to it which seemed to be stemming from the door next to it. A wooded area seemed to have cropped up, with flowers, mushrooms, and a tree stump surrounding it. Looking up, the party could see tree leaves covering the door. There didn't seem to be a ceiling. Several glossy pairs of eyes stared back at the party, all looking dull and white washed; except for a single pair that looked more dazed. Dark rims burrowed under a pale woman's eyes, her elegant dress seemingly tattered in various spots. Her hair looked messy and static despite apparent attempts at making it look presentable. She wielded a pointy rapier, seemingly ready to pounce. There was an almost feral aspect to her as she growled at the party. "Grrrr...." "If you wish to speak to the countess, you may. Although I doubt you'll get anything out of her. She was rather uncooperative before hand, but now that she's obedient, we've managed to make her cooperate, although she still seems to latch onto a vampires more aggressive traits." A strange shadow darts across the walls and to the vampire, seemingly lingering over her. "What's it going to be, heroes? It's your choice." -

A pleasure to make your acquaintance! Now that you're all here, I suppose I should explain my predicament. I'd ask you all to pull up a chair, but... well... that's kind of impossible at this moment so bear with me here. I'm not sure how familiar you are with my work, but I, Ernesto Homawae, am a well known writer of fiction, as well as a traveler of sorts. When I'm not penning my next novel I love to travel the world and take in the works of other cultures. The legends from Dastan and the epics from Xu are two very different, but both remarkable collections. I had just returned from one such travel when all of a sudden strange things began happening in my home. First it was small things, like leaks in the roof when it wasn't raining, or flowers sprouting out of the floorboards. Then, one day I was jostled out of bed as my entire house began warping and shifting around me! I began to spot things as I ran out of my abode, things that I had written about! Giant creatures that I had described, whole scenes playing out in my house as items flew around and object began to warp into different things! I saw it all stemming from my library, all the strange and weird magics stirring from within! Before I could do anything though, the library just vanished and my house rearranged itself! I don't know how, but what you see out here is not what is inside, but as you can see it's beginning to spill out and into the streets! Imagine, this whole block run being sieged by the forces of General Asougi, or worse, the Witches of Casonga Woods, or worse, the entire city being enveloped by a desert storm as in the Tower of Nac-Ri! If the source of this isn't stopped, who knows what might be unleashed!" Ernesto pulls a handkerchief out of his pocket and begins to breath heavily, wiping his brow. Annienal steps onto the dock and looks around, noticing Luke. It seemed he'd grown quite a bit since last winter. Annienal felt somewhat off noticing how quickly he'd grown. She was used to growing up around other elves, something that took a lot longer. "Hi, Luke. It's, um, been awhile. How've things been with you?" She takes note of Slate asking for a leader, intending to elect anyone but Calamity as she recalled her name being on the list. "Captain Slate, my name is Annienal Anavir, member of Heroica. If it means anything, I had formal training at a military academy for, um, awhile at least. Um, permission to come aboard, captain?" Thanks for having me, King!
