Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Kintobor replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
How did I miss this callout again? I did watch the first few episodes of Steven Universe, and I did rather enjoy them. I just need to sit down and catch up. Then again I keep saying that about all these shows and I never do. This, Gravity Falls, Star Wars: Rebels, TMNT, I mean is there a show I'm not watching right now? I really liked the laid back tone the show had. It had it's moments of action, and the action was good, but I think I like Steven Universe best when it's just hanging around and doing stuff. I know that seems weird, but this whole show has this sort of mellow vibe to it that's really rare, and really refreshing. Steven himself is a likeable kid character (gasp!), and the other Gems are also really interesting characters. What no one told me about though was the nightmare fuel. Fry-bo, Steven slowly turning into a swarming mass of cats; this is the stuff I'd expect out of Steven King on one of his weird days. Seriously though, I did enjoy it, and I just need to force myself back down and continue watching it. Speaking of stuff I've watched: MLP's season five finale. I enjoyed the time travel aspect of it as well as seeing what it would be like in worlds where certain villains won, but... technically wouldn't all of the villains won? Or at least Nightmare Moon would've? Imagine the alternate timeline where it's all the villains fighting for control over Equestria and different members of the Mane6 joined the different leaders? Oh, this is a time travel story and we're getting into nit picking. The alternate timelines were the best part about the episodes, as well as the different, often depressing roles the other characters had. This episode was surprisingly intense at moments, like the Equestrian army battling against Sombra's forces, and Chrysalis steam rolling Zecora, and I'm surprised just how dark the undertones were throughout. Actually, the Sombra timeline was probably my favourite. There was something so utterly bleak about it, and I loved seeing both the frontline and the industrial side of the war. Nightmare Moon's timeline was also pretty cool, what with Rarity as a maid and Rainbow Dash appearing to be in some sort of authoritative position (which looking back makes sense, she was tempted by the Shadow Bolts), and the Chrysalis run timeline was also surprisingly bleak. Red Scare/Enemy among us kind of stories fascinate me, and the paranoia aspect was pretty cool in those scenes. The alternate timeline stuff was top notch. Still wish we could've seen a Trixie run world and a Sunset Shimmer run world, but perhaps I'm pushing it for Sunset since her plan was kind of stupid. My one big gripe is Starlight Glimmer, and it's also a gripe with the show. Her redemption came to quick. I wish this show gave more time to allow Starlight to grow as a character instead of negating her to small background cameos every ten episodes. I think her becoming a reoccurring villain throughout the season and slowly learning about her through episodes like that would've made this episode stronger, but quick redemptions are a thing this show sort of does, and it's become more apparent here than anywhere else, besides maybe Equestria Girls. I love Starlight's backstory and her arc in theory, and how downright cruel she could be at times taunting Twilight, and I suppose her backstory makes sense, but the info dump kind of hampered her whole motive and redemption, and in the end the episode. Looking back, I enjoyed the episode a lot, and I commend it for doing something different. It was an all around interesting story and the timeline stuff was cool. It looks like Starlight Glimmer's sticking around, so here's to the Mane7. Next season it'll probably be the Mane8, with Evening Dazzle showing up or something. -

QM Note: It was my birthday today, so I had a bit of a busy day. I'll have an update tomorrow. -
Picked up Dust: an Elysian Tail for my laptop, and it's still one of my favourite games. Great soundtrack, fluid controls, and I normally don't go on about graphic, but it has really slick visuals. Unfortunately I also picked up Civilization 5, and I haven't really played a lot of D:aET. I download a few mods and I'm loving every minute of it!

Vanna picks up Throlar's card and looks at it. "Well... considering it's a pretty decent card, I can't see anyone just dropping it on the ground." QM Note: Can I get a heads up from you guys? We all still here? I know I haven't been updating as I should, but I'm going to put some effort in to get this quest finished before the end of the year. I need you all to determine where you're going and what you're doing. Are you splitting up again, or are you going to do something else? -

Sorry, I thought that was directed towards the group. I can have Vanna respond though. Give me a little bit. -

The more I see of this theme, the more I fall in love with it's campy charm. The figures are superb, the flying horse vehicles are awesome looking, and there's some excellent looking sets and pieces. I think my only desire out of the theme is a couple of buildings. I'd love to see some towers with the dark blue colour scheme or a volcano dungeon or something along those lines. Also, Lavaria's such an awesome figure. All the demons devils lava creatures are expertly designed. They're equal parts menacing and really fun looking, especially the little imps!

Well, the Oculoids are all dead, so that's technically only Proggs.

Annienal noticed the new people enter the hall. She continued reading her book and paid little mind to the approaching heroes.

"Yes. Captain is an automaton. He should stand out like a sore thumb around here, but I haven't seen or heard head or tail of him." "I don't know where you heard that, but I do not have a detached shadow." Vanna states, looking beguiled by all the questions. "I am the Decamon rep, ref, and sweetheart, Vanna Lotta. Since the Countess lost her title, no. The last event she was at was the Grogmas event last year. The Emerald Emperor hasn't talked about her, or received any real mail from her." -
I'd love to see a Dimensions Team Pack with Korra and Asami. Considering each character has three abilities, you could give Asami the fix-it ability, the electricity ability, and the technology ability. Korra would could probably use the target ability while utilizing the elements, but it'd be interesting see what the character could do. Some of the vehicles could be Asami's car and perhaps an Equalist mech or even an Earth Empire mech? I mean, there's a lot in the license to work off of. I don't see an issue getting it either, seeing how Korra's still relevant and still being talked about, and the license isn't being used by another company. I know I'd buy it in a heart beat.

Annienal, noticing that the creature standing in the hall is golem, removes herself from behind the bar and seats herself carefully on her stool. She realigns her incense and returns to her book.

"Arf arf! <Ooh! Oh! I think she may be my master! Maybe! I don't really know! She's, like, a person and she walks on two legs and she snuggles with me!>" "Okay, whoa there, one question at a time please!" Vanna states, holding her hands up and clearly noting Throlar's rapid fire comments. She grins playfully, trying to keep up her showman-like persona. "I've seen a pale faced man in a red cloak, but he's been sooking around the south gates. Pretty sure he was an elf. Can't say he had a weird shadow, but he was followed around by this kobold fellow. They both looked awful pissed. As for our Decamon Dispenser, Captain, he's gone missing. Can't find him anywhere. It's almost as he just got up off his plate and walked off, which is impossible seeing how Captain has no legs." "Precisely. I've never seen this before. Sure some of our Decamon Dispensers break down, but I've never seen one just get off it's plate and walk off!" -
Hey Pedguin, as one of the QMs, I'm going to try and help you out a little bit. When you purchase things from the Marketplace, you need to signify the amount of money you spend on each item (5 gold for the Bedroll and 5 for the Holy Bomb) and you also need to show the amount of money you spent in total, subtracted from your total gold count (5+5=10. 10-10=0 gold left.). That way there's no confusion over potentially buying things with money you don't own. Also, make sure to update your stats afterwards. This is crucial. As a QM, we look at your stats to determine what you have, and if they're not up to date, how are we to know that? If you need some help, feel free to ask. I've taken the liberty to update your stats for you as well. Cree (Pedguin) 27 Male Half - Moon Elven Knight Level 1 Power: 4 Defense: 2 Health: 10/10 Gold: 0 Equipment: Blade (WP 3, greatsword), Shield (SP 2, shield) Inventory: Potion, Holy Bomb, Bedroll

QM Note: We QMs are a picky lot. We like the name of the character and we like it bolded. Otherwise we can't tell who's signing up for quests.

Vanna looks at "Thrain" with a look of shock and dumbfound. "Um... yeah, you've approached me, for starters. Our Decamon Dispenser's been carried off somewhere, as well, but nope, you approaching me has been the highlight of odd today." "Arf arf!" The dog seems to take some amount of response to the name, but Vindsval isn't sure to what degree. -
