  1. Karie sighed. "Yeah, well... I wouldn't call myself a warrior. I never have been, and I have no real intention to become one." Karie looks around her, patting her sides. "So.. about meditating in here. What do I need to do?"
  2. "For once, no." Amber squeals as she's picked up. "Put me down! Ugh, really? You think I'm that treacherous? I'm... kind of flattered, really." "No, I'm not here for her. I'm here to get Sorrow and his friend out of here. I've heard over the past few days that you lot have been helping the good people here. Silivia's treachery did not go unheard, and I'm here to ensure that this town's saviours don't go to the axe. Now go. Flee!" The party rushes for the gates, as Vindsval's second smoke bomb covers their tracks even further. The party pushes their way past the mornings early risers as they make it to the East gates, for once unbarred and unmanned. A familiar face seems to be lingering around it, trying to close the gates. She turns around in panic as the party rushes past her. "Guards! Guards! These men are fleeing! Gu-" "Oh, shut it!" Amber shouts at the woman as the party flees the undead town and down the Red Brick Road. The town becomes gradually smaller, and it's not too long before Amber speaks. "Keep running to Dim Haven! If I remember correctly that bastard Zarovitch owned a horse. Stay off the main road and keep to the brush. If we're lucky we won't run into anything... especially mutants..." The party skirts off the road and beelines to Dim Haven. Their running crawls to an inevitable walk, as they make their way to Dim Haven... --- Two Weeks Later... --- The journey back to Eubric was uneventful. As a gesture of good faith, Amber Makepeace paid for the boat trip with the gold on her person. The boat sailed along the coast of Dastan and into the Crystalline Seas with little trouble, except a small spat of rain near Charis. Amber was uncharacteristically quiet throughout most of the journey, often keeping to herself and watching the passing lands from the ship's railing. She made no attempts to escape. Leaving the docks, the party made their way to the most reasonable place to look for Josiah McCreary: The Way's End Cathedral. Amber didn't say a word on the way to the building as they made their way through the streets to the old stone building. Opening the front doors, the party made their way through the pews to two individuals, their voices echoing through the room. They stopped their argument as they noticed the party. "Look what the cat dragged in. Looks like somebody slept in." The orc mumbled. The smell of alcohol flew off his breath as soon as he opened his mouth. "Jensen! I find your sarcastic attitude endearing at times, but now isn't the time for it!" Connor gave Jensen a surprisingly stern look before he turned on his heels to the party. "I'm glad you've finally made it. I was getting worried about you! We did have a group come out of the portal, but it wasn't you, er... five? Mind telling me who the dame is? And what happened in Fellcrest?" Jensen grabbed his flask and took a long swig.
  3. The bell ringing throughout the hall's of Eschaton startled Karie as well, causing her to look around. It seemed like these judgements would be quicker than she expected. "Uh, yes, hello! My name is Karie. It's a pleasure to meet you as well." Karie bows in response to Glaz's, trying her hardest to wrap her head around everything she was seeing. It suddenly dawned on her what Telethia meant by "kindest souls you'll ever meet". The notion of meditation perked Karie's interests, but she was more piqued by the glowing gem. "So, um... I'm new to all of this. Can you explain what exactly it is you're doing right now?"
  4. Karie, being left alone in the entrance hall, shoves her hands into her pockets and heads for the Reflection Room.
  5. I'll have a solid update for Pen is Mightier tomorrow. I've been trying to get some sets finished, but I simply haven't had the time, and they're kind of important for the next leg of the quest. Apologies. That being said, this just got announced, and I can finally find a legitimate reason to buy more MLP merch.
  6. Eh? I seem to be one of the few people who actually like Crystal Skull, and even I'm a little hesitant on Harrison in Indy 5. He's not getting any younger. I'm skeptical at best. I don't want Indy 5 to be Harrison Ford recounting stories to his fellow residents at the senior citizens home. An Indy 5 that managed to take his old age, acknowledge it, and work it to the character's favour, as in he has a protege with him or someone who does most of the heavy lifting while Jones continues being a smart alex and would be kind of interesting, though.
  7. Karie was glad Charon and Immortalis left as quickly as they did. Their presence put her on edge. Karie looked around at her fellow quest mates, knowing exactly who she did and didn't wish to be around at this moment in time. "So... Telethia... do you mind further explaining some of the areas on the map? An area called the Silent Hall and The Reflection Room bring up more questions than answers, honestly."
  8. Annienal draws her sword. "Um... I'll try and, um, focus on Traci. Um... I'll, um, try and make sure this doesn't hurt too much..." Annienal strikes Traci from the front row.
  9. "Precisely. I wouldn't even pay for your services a second time, count, seeing as how you didn't manage to do your job and kill these idiots. I mean, seriously?" At her comment, Zarovitch audibly growls. Amber shrinks back behind Althior. "I don't think you understand. It's my honour to dish out justice in this town, not you heroes. While I appreciate your sentiment in assisting the capture of Amber Makepeace, she ultimately falls within my jurisdiction. I will have her in my custody, or you can join her in a cell." "The countess is no condition to be seeing anyone. She's weak, and she needs bedrest. You've seen her condition yourself. Hand Makepeace over." "She has committed crimes her in the town of Fellcrest, and the town demands justice! I have no idea what will happen to Amber once she makes it back to Eubric, but here, I know she'll face the axe for her crimes." Amber audibly gulps as she holds her hand to her neck. "I think I've made my position clear enough as well. Guards! Seize the lot of them!" As the guards lower their spears on the party the sound of glass shattering erupts and a billow of smoke erupts as the guards surrounding the party let their stance up. A familiar robed figure emerges from the smoke, hand over his mouth, a frantic look in his eyes. "Gentlemen! Now's your chance! Run for the East Gates and don't look back!"
  10. "Lind, I should mention that I've burnt down a hall full of mercenaries that I disagreed with. Burnt everyone inside of it as well. Burnt it to the ground, salted the earth, and then ensured the bystanders remembered it by eating a baby on the front steps. I'm telling you this just as a heads up, since I'm considering doing the exact same thing to Heroica hall incase I disagree with it as well in the near future." Karie raised her eyebrows. "Beginning to see the picture?" "Let me put it like this: if Immortalis was mad at us, he'd probably make his opinion heard a long time ago."
  11. "I, um, don't really think that's going to help us. Like, um... at all." Annienal remarks.
  12. "And you've managed to come to this conclusion in the- what, two times you've met him? Once when you met him after murdering his son and the second after he blatantly threatens us?" Karie scowls. Eschaton's atmosphere wasn't helping. There was never anyone here. Only Charon and his dragon master. "I hope we can all recognize what that was back there, a threat. Immortalis is attempting to intimidate us with a show of force. Lind, does a kind, grand being do that?" Karie sighed. She had a feeling she was going to do something she was going to regret doing when it came to Lind. She turned her attention to Thormanil. "I don't think I've actually heard of you, Thormanil, which is weird because I've heard of just about everyone in the hall. What's your story?"
  13. "Tsk tsk. Such anger, Throlar. And not in the fun way, like Vindsval, here." The party heads to the surface, with Amber in tow, the party making sure she doesn't try and make a run for it. Making it to the top, Zarovitch and his men look upon the party with appreciation. "Gentlemen, I'm glad to see you've made it out alright. And.... I see you have Makepeace." "Oh, Zarovitch. Hey. Nice seeing you again. I see you managed to make a living after our last encounter." Amber grins sheepishly. Zarovitch seems less than thrilled at Amber's arrival, although his gaze soon returns to the party. "Now then, you will hand Amber Makepeace over to me, seeing how you haven't already dealt with-" "Ah, no, you're not. Heroicans, you promised to take me to my father, and you're doing that. You're not... seriously going to throw me to this dog?" There's a glint of panic in Amber's eyes. Zarovitch draws his hand closer to his sword. His men bolster their weapons. "You're handing her over. Now." QM Note: No matter your choice, I will allow Vindsval to find the gem in the geode.
  14. Nerwen places the mask on her face, and as she does so her body illuminates a heavenly light. She cannot feel them or use them, but wings prop up behind her, occasionally twitching and stretching. The area illuminates around them, and in front of them a tunnel appears, the various gemstones glowing along the trail, as if affected by Nerwen's radiant light.
  15. Both quests update tomorrow. I had an event to go to last night and I spent today recovering after a tiring day yesterday.
  16. "We'll see, Charon. I suppose it's up to your master to determine what happens, seeing how he has you so tightly wrapped around his fingers." Karie stated, rather sincerely. Karie's stance around Immortalis straightens, here hands idly around her weapons. "Some warm welcome." Karie comments, noting the atmosphere. She looks less than honoured to see Immortalis again.
  17. Karie blinked, not sure how to react to Siercon's response. "Um, thank you. I'm glad someone agrees with me." ---- Karie deeply frowned at Charon's arrival. She didn't bother take a step forward and merely crossed her arms, squinting her eyes and looking Charon over. "I see you haven't changed a bit." Karie looked over her shoulder to Umbra. "This little creep is Immortalis's pet. I'd watch yourself around him."
  18. Oh, wait, now I realize why. There's no such thing as a seven sided die.
  19. True. I probably should've noted lanterns or something. Actually, come to think of it, why aren't Lanterns Tools? I think for a cheap tool they could lead to interesting scenarios.
  20. I suppose. I'm just wanting some second opinions.
  21. "What? No. I'm just... rearing to get a move on, you know?" Amber rolled her eyes towards Vindsval, sounding irritated. "You're not nearly as fun when you're not aggressive, Vindy."
  22. Karie watches the group quickly disperse the scene before putting her guitar behind her back. She rolled her shoulders back a few times looking content. "I'm not really here to argue with you Henry, Umbra. I'm merely here to get you from point a to point b in the quickest amount of time. We could've stood around here fighting those men for a few more minutes and put your lives at risk, or we could've given them what they wanted with the hopes they'd learn a lesson and get the hell out of this crumbling city." Karie commented. She looked to Punii with an agitated look, not so much at him but the incompetence around her. Karie shrugged. "I've been in their position before. They needed a push. Hopefully they actually do something with that money and not go back." Loot Distribution: Karie: Mead Lind: Remedy x2, Mulled Wine Thormanil: Sam's Flask Siercon: Remedy x2, Mead x2 Jinnipher: Black and Blue Hair Dye
  23. Who made the Trickster's Mask of the Angel? I personally wouldn't allow this to happen, but I'm not the item creator. Zepher?
  24. Noticing the glares from the crowd, Karie groans. She rubs her temple before caving. "Alright then." Karie counts out two hundred and fifty gold and drops it on the ground, standing on it. "I'm not spilling over the amount of money you demanded because I don't take that kind of nonsense. Take this money and do something with it besides continually proving the idiots behind me that their opinions on you are right. Start a business. Get out of this city. Make a name for yourself." She drops a phoenix essence on the ground as well. "I'm not a murderer, not by choice. You can take these and do something with them, or you can continue to fight me and prove to the men and women behind me that you are exactly what they think you are." Karie tries to be reasonable with her diplomacy. "This is my choice to you. If I find you here in this same spot when I return, robbing people of their living... you're going to have a bad time."
  25. "Please, I'm going to have a particularly bad day, today, I can already feel it. I'm asking you to stand down to ensure it doesn't get even worse. Do you need money? Then robbing people isn't going to get you very far. Neither is murdering a bunch of people."
