  1. Karie watches in awe as energy swirls around the battlefield, surging into the bodies of the dead. As the sailors come to and the Miracle Worker calls out for the fighting to stop, Karie looks at the ex-Bonaparte sailors positioned on the wall before her. She put her guitar away. "Drop your weapons." Karie proclaims diplomatically to the sailors on the wall. "You heard the Miracle Worker. You drop your weapons and we'll follow suit. There's been enough violence for one day, and I think we all have a desire to go back home to our families and loved ones once this is over, wherever they might be."
  2. There's generally roles that are consistent throughout most games. You'll be given a role at random at the start of each game that's either Town or Mafia. Some games have a third party role, such as the Serial Killer. https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Game_of_Mafia This is a great starting place to learn Mafia. They have an extensive list of roles as well that you'll typically see in Mafia.
  3. "Just go do what you have to do, Atramor. Myself and everyone else up here will make sure this wall's cleared." Karie replies, watching as he drops down into the harbour as well.
  4. Good to hear that there's some interest still in Mafia games! No need to worry. At this point I don't think anyone's really picky about who has and hasn't finished a Mafia School game. My advice would be to read a game or two of Mafia School and see how the game is played, as well as doing some research into the game's roles and how it's played if you haven't done your own investigating already..
  5. Karie watched as Lawrence dropped down into the harbour with Eric. She grimaced at the sight of the Founders, and then returned focus on action above. With their group leader having effectively left, Karie felt a tide of responsibility well inside her. She wanted a shot at the Veterans, but she was needed here. "Clear out these sailors! We need to clear the ramparts! We can get behind the Veterans and pincer them in their megablocks!" Karie looked out to sea to see what the Bonaparte fleet is up to. Karie plays a Rapid March from the back row.
  6. Where's that tumbleweed gif when you need it? I'm thinking of running something in October, and I'm leaning heavily on an unofficial sequel to def's Cosplay Mafia School called Kintobor's Cosplay Mafia: The Unofficial Sequel. It'll be pretty light in plot similar to the last game I ran and the theme is more or less dressing for actual Mafia shenanigans. Anyone around here still interested in playing a game of Mafia?
  7. This is some fantastic work! The gazebo on the bank of the river is spectacular in its own right, but the entirety of it is coming along wonderful! Awesome stuff!
  8. As her vision clears up, Karie prepares to play another song from the one she had been playing before. She grins, knowing what she is about to unleash. "Alright, heads up, we're going on the offensive. You're going to get some pep in your step, so don't hold back. Feel free to put me high in the battle order so I can affect as many people as I can. I'd prefer not getting hit while I'm playing, so spread out with your attacks." Karie plays a Rapid March from the back row.
  9. Oh, this is awkward. Nobody here that I know of actually plays the officially Heroica game Lego released. The game that's run here is loosely, and I mean incredibly loosely, based off it. Our home-brewed rules completely ditches the board used, as well as the miniatures, dice and rules. We're actually in the middle of wrapping up seven years of adventuring, with over 100 quests completed. If you browse through a quest, you'll see the difference between the two games. Needlessly to say, this is a well put together MOC. The ship in particular is very cool, and the castle ruins are a lot more interesting than what Lego offered. The use of elevation is also really well done. Well done!
  10. That Goblin castle is gorgeous. The scale is impressive and the layout with the bridge equally more so.
  11. The old Rock Raider sets have a certain charm that you've really captured in the build. Good stuff!
  12. Autogyro's don't get enough love, and your's is really something else. Well done! I'm going to add on here and suggest you remove the top layer of 2 stud wide bricks with the exception being the edged ones at the centre of the rotor and replace those with flat plates. If you put plates on top of the ones currently on there you're rotor will look a little too thick.
  13. OOC: My intention was to get the blinded ability off of all of us so we can act more effectively. If you want me to play something different, let me know.
  14. My favourite movie of all time is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. I watched it again after a year or two of not seeing it, and I forget how much I love it each time I watch.
  15. Karie lands on the battlements, not sure where she is being let off. She holds her guitar out and finds the strings. She was momentarily blinded, but she didn't need her vision to belt out a song. "Am I the only one who can't see? Hold on, let me look into fixing that. Whoever's maintaining the battle order, let me go after Lawrence but before the rest of the group. I can get rid of this blindness." Karie performs a Serene Etude from the back row.
  16. Report it if you haven't already. We tend to get this on occasion, but the Heroica thread tends to not get hit. They've posted in a few other threads if their post count is to go by.
  17. CyberSix comes to mind. What a strange show with an even stranger source material? Who looked at the CyberSix comics and thought "You know where this belongs? The saturday morning cartoon block!" 1993's Sonic the Hedgehog is pretty good. It's not to be confused with the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, although I don't blame you if you do: Jaleel White voices Sonic in both shows. It's got a pretty standout cast of who's who voice actors from the nineties and onward, and it also has my favourite interpretation of the Doctor Robotnik character. Jim Cummings kills it every time Robotnik is on screen, and he still manages to freak me out a little. Danny Phantom's also great. At least, it's first two seasons are great. The third season can be thoroughly skipped, because it sucks. It's like if Spider-man met The Real Ghostbusters and they had a child: that's the best way to describe Danny Phantom.
  18. "We still making a run for that cannon? We need to get Kiray back on her feet." Karie mounts Torc.
  19. Vindsval strikes the White Mob D from the back row.
  20. I can most certainly. Give me a bit to post something for Vind.
  21. A bit. I'd even go so far as allow during character generation players to pick a Combat ability and an Out of Comat ability, sort of like being able to play a rogue in combat with the knight's diplomacy ability, or even being able to at first level pick up the black knight's intimidation ability. I haven't given it too much thought, and it probably has it's own set of problems, but the intention is to give players access to abilities that help them create a niche they want to fit into without creating a nightmare where combat turns into a slog.
  22. Palathadric Shakes Fist at Cloud I actually thought about a perk system, wherein instead of directly gaining classes that dictate what you do, you instead take "perks" which dictate what a character can do. The base classes stay the same, but instead of slapping on a new template, you gain a new perk every some on levels. I didn't think too much into it, but it's a thought I had. Perhaps each perk costs a certain amount of "levels", and your level dictates which perks open up to you? Food for thought, nonetheless.
  23. Karie shields herself as Torc is driven off by the winds. "Well this went to hell in a hand basket faster than I expected." Karie downs a grand tonic from the back row.
  24. OOC: If Karie was unsuccessful at mounting Torc, than why is she with the group assaulting the cannons?
  25. Hearing Lawrence mention her Karie looks at him. She didn't trust this for a moment, but she hoped everyone Lawrence was bringing was intelligent enough to realize there was more at play than a petty feud between Lawrence and her. "You really want me up there? Fine, I'm better suited to a smaller group anyways. Let's go."
