The person in question is Jeff Kaplan, who's well known within the Overwatch community as a bit of a spokesperson for the game when it comes to updates. I did a quick Google search to pull up an official image of Tracer to do a comparison between in-game graphics and the little, plastic, Danish replica. Not bad! The hair might've been a lighter shade of brown, and I would've loved dual moulding on the arms to get her ridiculous armour/gun holsters included, but it's pretty spot on. The detailing on her legs is also really well done. I'm used to seeing printing go across the legs and onto the joiner piece, but the exclusion of printing on the joiner piece really makes the figure pop. I'm interested in a better view of the chronal accelerator on her back, but if this is what we can expect for the quality of the mini figures in the theme, I can't wait to see what else Lego's got prepared!

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

Karie wasn't sure what to believe when Kayla stepped in front of her. She didn't know whether she was real or not, or if everything was a dream, but for just this moment she allowed herself to buy into it. She didn't know exactly if this is how Kayla looked, or if what was being presented to her was even an accurate representation of her sister, but it didn't matter to her right now. Karie grabbed her big sister in both arms and hugged her tightly, not wanting to let go. "I... I missed you, Kayla. I missed you a lot. I never thought I was going to see you again." -

Karie hugs Masson, surprised but happy to see him. She quizzically looks him and her daughter over. Had they been here before. "Masson! I'm happy to see you and Rachelle are safe." She gives her daughter a kiss on the forehead. "I've spent enough time loitering around this hall. If I'm being honest, I figured we could go and plan for something: I was thinking a trip to Charis or-" Karie is swiftly interrupted by a new arrival. One which gives her pause. She looks back to Dyric. She didn't know who this figure in the door was, but if it caused Dyric to pause, it must be worth of suspicion. She took in a deep breath. Something about all of this hadn't sat right with her. She looked at her family, at her daughter Rachelle. Something was standing in the way of her and her family: her daughter most especially. She could sense it. "Actually, you two, I have an idea. We'll plan the trip to Charis soon. Very soon. I have some business I need to attend to. There's someone I need to talk to. Can you wait outside for me?" Karie had a feeling the Masson and Rachelle in front of her weren't real. This wasn't the first time she was confronted by a fake Masson, but it felt like this time it hurt the most. She was so close to bringing the city to safety and securing a future for her daughter. With only a few seemingly off motions, it felt... fake. It felt idyllic. It felt like a dream. Karie returned looking towards Dyric with an aura of melancholy surrounding her. She didn't even know if what she intended to do could work, but she had to try. Now seemed like the only chance. "I was thinking... wouldn't it be a miracle if my sister, Kayla, could show up in this hall?" -

Karie finishes reading the paper and pours herself a small glass of rum before finishing it up and topping it off with another shot. She took it in quick succession, hoping to null a little of the pain. She didn't feel much resolution when it came to the fight with Rosier, but the city seemed safe for now. There was work to be done, but it could wait for some of the more important things in her life. "As much as I would enjoy revelling in the Hall, there's a group of people who I need to see: my family. My daughter and husband are probably worried sick after all this. I need to go and make sure they're alright." Karie got out of her seat and grabbed her crutches. It'd be a few weeks of rest before she figured she'd be better. "After that I'm going to into the Hanging Gardens and try and find my sister's grave. Atramor, you're more than welcome to visit. I'm certain there's a number of stories we could share good food and alcohol over." Karie took a look over the hall. Peaceful, sure, but for now, that seemed alright. She began to head for the door. -

Karie awakens at her corner spot in the bar, her table converted to a makeshift nightstand. As she comes to she feels a bandage woven tightly around her head, covering one eye. A small pouch sits on the table with her name scrawled onto a piece of parchment attached to it. Karie wearily picks up the pouch and opens it up. A glass eye stares back at her. Hastily closing the pouch and shoving it into a pocket, Karie gets up, hobbling her way over to Atramor: she grabs the crutches next to her chair and makes good use of them. "I don't care how early it is: I'll take whatever Atramor's having." She tells Scheherazade. "Funny, I don't remember any of it either, however it seems like I took a bit of a beating during it." Karie rests on a seat. She felt like she got ran over by a carriage. "Anyone got a newspaper? I'd like to catch up on what's happened since we were knocked out." -

Karie opened up her makeup kit and began a round of touch ups, potentially her final touch up. She didn't want to believe it was, but better to be prepared. She spoke through touching her face up. "As much as I want a break after all this... I doubt Ulric will. I know some of us here want Ulric on the throne that is inevitably coming, but for the time being, let's focus on getting the Rosier out of here and saving the Fae. Should Ulric make a move I'll take a crack at making him see things our way." Karie snapped her pocket mirror closed and shoved it into a pocket on her jacket. She turned to Atramor. "I'm somewhat shocked we've never quested before this, Atramor. Something makes me think we would've gotten along." -

"I'm pretty sure a Faerie eating archdemon needs to be evicted from this city before we even consider anyone for any position." Karie states. "Now, are we ready to kick this archdemon's or what?" -
I've been holding onto this for awhile, but now feels like the appropriate time to post this silly thing I threw together.

Karie got off the ship shaking herself off. "I never liked travelling around by boat." She looked behind her at Fort Bonaparte, or what was left of Fort Bonaparte. Smoke billowed into the late evening sky as the reflection of the fire danced across the water. The small silhouettes of Bonaparte ships could be seen moving away from the fort, clearly in disarray. "Well, I was going to address the crowd, but seems as if my points have already been made." Karie remarked. She felt herself coming back to normal after her adrenaline rush from earlier. She waited to hear if anyone was insistent on staying, although she doubted many of them wanted to. -

Karie walks to the shoreline as Lind catches up to her. "Proud of me?" Karie laughs softly as she smiled, although her reaction also stemmed from her deescalating adrenaline high and nearly slicing a woman's throat open. "Fair enough, Lind." -

"Do not question me on my actions!" Karie swung the dagger in front of her in refutal. "I was but a child when I was taken away, do you remember everything from your childhood? From the age of three? I was told to forget about her from my foster parents!" Karie allowed Patricia to speak as she slowly walked up to her, dropping her other items in the sand of the harbour. As she finished, Karie reached her. Karie forcefully grabbed Patricia by the back of her hair and held her Heirloom Dagger, the same Dagger Kayla gave to her when she was sent away, to Patricia's neck: adrenaline causing her to feel light headed. She breathed heavily as she did. This is it. Karie thought to herself, her hand trembling with anticipation. Kayla's going to be avenged. All it takes is a flick of the wrist. She steeled herself for what she was going to do, what she had wanted to do for five years after learning about what had happened at the Founder's Day Ball. She looked Patricia in the eyes, readying herself, anticipating the moment when she would slash at the Watch Captain's throat and watch the life drain from Patricia's eyes. Karie felt like she was in the spotlight, and all she had to do was complete this tragedy. Blood for blood. An eye for an eye. A life for a life. Karie inhaled sharply and exhaled sharply. She loosened her grip on Patricia's hair. It had only been a few seconds, but it felt like forever. She looked at her dagger, reflecting in the light, as it slowly came away from Patricia's throat. She was visibly still tense, but her voice had found resolve and her volume had lowered. She looked Patricia in the eyes. "Your right. Nothing will bring back my sister. Nothing I do will satisfy my rage. But this is ending here. This is over." Karie walked away from Patricia and didn't look back. She felt herself come down from her adrenaline high and made her way to a solitary spot near the edge of the water to think to herself about what she had done. As she did, she noticed Lind with his swords out. "Put them way, Lind. I'm done with Patricia." -

"I was three!" Karie exclaims. "I did not decide to keep her out of my life! She made a choice to make sure I had something, a future outside of the Hovels! There was good in her, and you cut her down!" Karie didn't realize it but she had been moving closer and closer to Patrica throughout the argument, her emotions and her guttural anger swelling forth. Karie couldn't remember being this hateful. "How dare you chide me and pin this on me! This has nothing to do with what others have done, Patricia! Just you and what you did to Kayla!" Karie drew her Heirloom Dagger and pointed it at Patricia. She wasn't within striking distance, but with a good enough run... one slash against the throat and she'd have done it. Kayla would be avenged. "Stay out of my way, Germ! This doesn't involve you." Karie doesn't even turn to look at Germ as she shouts at him. She continues to speak to Patricia, although it was more shouting at this point. "This doesn't involve anyone else but me and Cousland, and if anyone dares step between the two of us I'll personally shout you off the ramparts!" "You'd murder someone who's down and can't answer for themselves. You're a coward, Patricia. You're a snivelling, coward. How many people have you executed who stole to feed their families? How many people were executed because they were stuck in a cycle of greed you stood to uphold?" Karie could do it. She knew she could do it. All it would take is a flick of her wrist. She took a step forward. "You're lucky, Patricia, you're actually conscious and able to defend yourself. Why shouldn't you deserve to die?" -
Ho boy, is it just me, or are things escalating at a dangerous rate here?

Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return

"Do not speak to me about law and order, Patricia!" Karie snarled, raising the tone of her voice. The anger in her words boiled over like water boiling out of a pot. "You agreed to help the Founders install themselves as the Council of Peace and Prosperity. Where in those actions is there anything that resembles law and order? You actively worked outside of the law in order to install the Founders as the leaders of Eubric." Karie looked ready to jump on Patricia at any moment. "You're worse than a criminal in my book, Patricia. The common thief is more virtuous than you. You turned your back on this city and backed a foreign invader." She sharply points back to Eubric while still facing the murderer of her sister. "That explosion earlier, Patricia? The one from the city? That was the wall between the Hovels and the rest of the city being blown to kingdom come. Ulric and the Wolfgang have made more progress in stemming crime in this city by blowing up that wall and addressing the root cause of this cities criminal element than you have in your entire tenure as Captain of the City Watch." Karie breathed heavily. She was basically shouting at Patricia while she glared at her. "You butchered my sister in an alleyway when Arthur offered to hand her over to you, to allow them the opportunity to redeem themselves, and you denied it. Now, I'm going to ask you again, because you seem to have dodged my question. I don't want to be preached to about law and order from someone who doesn't believe in it. I want you to tell me why you killed my sister." -
Thank you! I looked into whether the crossbucks should be white and red or white and black, since I've seen both on train layouts, with red and white being more modern. I found this article clipping from an unknown newspaper seemingly from either 1986 or 1987 since the date scribbled onto the article is somewhat hard to read: Seems as if though that by 1989, the changeover from the old black and white Railway Crossing signs was switched to the more visible red and white. It's something I'm seemingly going to have to fix, Man with a hat. Watching the video, I can't help but notice the one guy on the moped speed through the crossing as the signal lights and siren are going. Best of luck with your crossing, Dragunov!

"Personally, there's no reason to blow this fort up. We're wasting time messing around here. I say we leave it." "Such as being complicit in building the wall?" Karie replies. "A decision that seemed to only embolden the Wolfgang and drive more to their cause. A woman who backed the Houses and saw their status quo cemented? I don't believe Patricia is fit to sit in a position of authority over the Watch." Karie turns to look at Patricia when she opens her mouth and begins to speak. This was Patricia. Here in the flesh. Her decorated uniform and her pursed lips. Right in front of her was the woman who killed her sister. She remembered what felt like ages ago when Arthur pieced it together, that she and Kayla were sisters. She remembered for years thinking about how she'd end Patricia's life should she ever be in a position to do so. She looked at Arthur as a rush of adrenaline began to surge through her body. She knew this decision crossed the line and then some, but this was it. This was the moment. "Patricia." There was a pause. She never expected to get this far. She never expected to get answers to this lingering question. "Why did you kill my sister? Why did you kill Violetta the Cat Burglar?" -
I won’t be here Saturday and most of Sunday. I’ll be off on a camping trip. Should a fight break out could some give Karie some actions? Thanks!

Karie heaves a exasperated huff. "I'm not going to condole the actions of Kayla, Pretzel, but if Patricia had decided not to take action into her own hands and run her through with a sword while she was down... Patricia has no no moral authority to be anywhere near the Watch. She seemingly didn't believe in us when the opportunity came to either reject the Founder's offer to join them or assist us. It's clear as day in my mind that Patricia needs to go, Pretzel." She tried not to make it all about Kayla, but she still wanted to see Cousland swing from a noose for her negligence and the death of her sister. "We are putting something together Lind. It's called Heroica. We're piecing the damn thing back together, and when it's finally finished you can no longer worry about division tearing Eubric apart. I won't let it happen." Karie comments to Lind. She could tell his heart was in the right place, but as usual, Lind seemed misguided. She looked at Lind patiently and continued. "Lind, you're not going to get any supporters that are going to ultimately help you in your vision of restoring the Crescent Union. It'll only attract those who want to return to a time when a bunch of feuding oligarchs managed to control a city by buying out the watch. Let it go, Lind, from one friend to another." "They won't." Karie replies. "I already asked them to assist us and they said they won't fly a white flag of surrender to the Bonapartes. Unless you want to try some other negotiation tactic, the sailors here said they're not going to fly anything. Speaking of which, why are we considering blowing up a fort with people still inside it? I mean, really?! We get a shot at showing off what this new Heroica can do, and you guys want to blow up a fort with sailors still in it?" Karie concernedly questions the rest of the group. She looks at Arthur in particular like he had grown a second head. -
I just notice I messed up on the pavement markings on the one side of the tracks. Going to have to fix that when I get the time to do so.

I thought I'd show off a bit of what I've been working on recently. This is part of a small portable switching layout that I've been working on for the past few years, and this part of the layout is the most recent section to be added: a Railroad Crossing. A bunch of the model railroaders I hung out with suggested I put a railroad crossing in, and eventually, after a bit of tearing apart scenery and track I'd installed, I managed to get what I hope is a convincing scene. Both of the vehicles and the camper trailer were inspired by builds I saw online, and I tried to reverse engineer them while still adding a bit of my own flourish to them, such as the police car and the fact that the camper and the sedan were initially two separate MOCs that I decided looked nice together with their white colour scheme so I added the hitch to the back of the sedan. Ignore Hera Syndulla, I'm currently trying to find a place for her elsewhere. Here's a picture with a boxcar on the track to give the scene a bit of scale. I specifically decided to go with four wide for the cars to make the train more of the focal point of the layout. I initially built the boxcar with a Toronto Hamilton Buffalo livery, but without any decals at the moment I put a printed tile on it for use as a railway company logo. You can also see the beech scene a little bit better, along with the sand castle some child has left. Here's a picture from the other side, and you can see that I decided to add some fencing to the beach scene while I was photographing this. I also threw my station wagon, another MOD of a MOC I found online that I thought would look good, on the layout instead of the police car, just to see how it'd look. \ The big reason I went through with tearing up this section of the layout was realizing that the new x-shaped tile pieces actually made it possible to easily do the crossbucks for the crossing. From there it was building up the scenery so I could get the road up to a point where a car could feasibly cross over it without someone spilling a drink in their lap. The crossing also helps transition between two scenes on opposite ends of it. To the right of the white sedan in the first photo is a harbour scene that was heavily influenced by michealozzie1's Ghent Harbour MOC over on Flickr. To the left of the white sedan is a beach scene with a lighthouse that ends with a tunnel for the train to go through. I wanted to use the crossing as a means to help differentiate the two scenes, but also help set the era in which my MOC is set in: the late 1980's. The cars I chose were done so on the basis that they would've been seen at the end of the decade, specifically 1989, as it's the last year Canadian Pacific operated with cabooses. Any comments or criticisms would appreciated, as I hope this addition will be displayed for the public at some point. Hopefully I can show off more of the layout in the future, as it's come quite a ways from when I first showed it off to the public two years ago. Thanks for taking the time to look at my MOC!

Karie lowered her brow and stubbornly squinted her eyes at the sailor. "Fine." Karie cursed under her breath as she left the sailors on the outer wall and descended to the Harbour via the stairs. She'd seen enough people leaping from the ramparts to come to the conclusion that a potential sprained ankle wasn't worth it. She considered talking to Dyric or Arthur, but the two seemed busy. Reluctantly, she approached Lawrence, coughing to get his attention. She spoke to him in a quieter tone, trying to not grab the attention of anyone else. "Look, Lawrence, I'm happy this whole negotiation thing's going smoothly, but we've got a problem. The Bonaparte fleet's on their way here, and they're not going to receive the negotiations in a positive manner. We need to get the Bonapartes to stand down. Do we still need the Magpie? I can take a small group to go and tell the Bonaparte's to hold position." Karie turned around to examine the condition of the Magpie and ensure it was still seaworthy. -
Guilty as charged. There was a letter? I never got a letter. Karie would've known if she got a letter from Arthur.

Karie sighed in relief as the sailors put their weapons away. As the sailor pointed to the approaching ships, Karie groaned. "Great, more complications!" She turned to the sailors, hoping they'd have an answer to help her. "Do you have some kind of means of telling the ships not to attack? You guys typically use flags or something for communication, right? They'll probably come in and storm the beaches since they don't know what's going on." Karie moved to the other side of the walls, questioning whether or not to inform the others immediately. She looked at the negotiations and back out to sea, knowing that what was about to happen could end all of this. -
Ho boy. We mainly came up with it on the fly, but me and Endgame did PM each other a lot over what we thought was appropriate for the characters in terms of motivations and we did RP some scenes that did get posted in the hall. Ultimately a lot of it was on the fly RP between the two of us. When it came to Masson being on quests, it was strictly on the fly, but when it wasn't on a quest we did do some back and forth PMs about what we thought the two would be up to, including the proposal, the wedding, and a few other scene which I might drag out after all this is over.
