Heroica RPG - Quest #159: An Unexpected Return - Sewers

Karie raises her hand, a confused look spread across her face. "I'm sorry, but you've lost me completely. Fairy Dust? What exactly is Fairy Dust, and why is it important?" -

Karie tried hard not snicker at Throlar's comment. She leaned into his ear and whispered. "I forgot about why I enjoyed having you around, Throlar." -

Karie lurched about, feeling ill from the trip to the Faerie. She stumbled forward but catches herself before falling to the ground. Looking around Karie expected bright lights and dazzling scenery, but the eerie quiet and looming shadows followed by the falling particles left her uneasy. This was not how the Faerie was described to her. Were they really in the land of the Fae? Noticing the group approach them, Karie allows her peers to take control for the moment, if only to allow her to reorient herself. As she did, she noticed a familiar face in the crowd, one which took her a moment to recognize. Karie hadn't spoken to Benji in what was more than likely years, yet she remembered her conversation with him well, if only the fact that he'd met Kayla. She seemed to be surrounded by people who had met her sister, but could never find out who had actually interacted with her. Karie never really thought of asking people what her sister was like, but she felt like that could wait until later. "Benji, long time no see, I guess. I'm glad life's been treating you well." Karie takes off her Trickster's mask of the Elf and replaces it with her Encore Plectrum as she takes note of her surroundings. Karie scowled. She had explained all this to Lind, and explaining it again merely reminded her how messed up the situation really was. "Benji, you might want to take a seat. I've got a lot to unpack to you. The House of Eubric have been dissolved, and the city's now under control by the original Founders of Heroica, sans one member. We don't know why they've returned, how, or even if they're actually the Founders, but they've come into an alliance with the Watch and the Paladin Order, and they've banished us from Heroica Hall. As of this moment, Heroica is no longer functional. The Nornalis isn't working for us, and we don't know why. Cain is dead, and the rest of the Veterans are in hiding, with Kukulkan and Jacques hiding with Ulric under the city and Asa's in hiding in one of the city's inns. Hestia's out at sea with her husband, and Semimaris is missing. Two other groups of Heroicans have went out looking for information. We've got a few leads on what's going on, one of which lead us here to the Faerie. We received a message from Byblos through the use of a sending stone. Ulric and the Wolfgang found it in the tunnels near a temple beneath the city." Karie shows Benji the stone written in Metasimian, reading the inscription him based off of her memory of it. "Blinding light now over-runA dark seed planted below the sunWhere once was joy and never glumThe flower grows, take care They come We figured the description of a blinding light now over run and where once was joy and never glum described the Faerie, so we came here... although this place is not at all what I assumed the Faerie would be like. I know this is a lot to unpack, Benji. A lot's happened since you've left, and very quickly as well." -

Karie breathed a sigh of relief. She still felt beat up, but she at least didn't feel like she was on death's door. "Thanks, Throlar. I appreciate it." As Giocanda shouts from the cellar, Karie prepares to bolt. "Time to go!" Karie flees with Throlar. Battle Order Throlar Karie Lind Skrall Kiray Pretzel Vindsval -

Karie regains her footing, halting her performance as she recovers from the Mountain's assault. She looks down at her bloody fingers as she moves to wipe away thick, crimson blood from her forehead. She morosely looks to Throlar and nods. "Throlar, do your best. It's all I can ask of you." Karie grins wearily at her friend as she moves her fingers back to her guitar strings. She continues to play a Rapid March from the back row. Battle Order Karie Lind Monk Pretzel Vindsval Throlar Skrall Kiray -

Allow me to expand on my point then. I don't trust anyone at this point. However, in terms of how scummy people are, Daala is low on my list. I don't find anything she's said too suspicious, and I'm not focusing on her at this time. We don't have a lot to go off of, but I'd prefer having information tomorrow based off of today, rather than fumbling through the motions tomorrow as we try and have some kind of Day 1 lynch on Day 2. If you're refusing to vote now, there's a reason for it. You're waiting for a bandwagon, or your waiting for the end of the day. That is scummy in my eyes, and doesn't help the town. Something that you have yet to do. Motti, if you had to vote for someone right now, who would you vote for, and why haven't you done so already? A vote is more than just explicitly wanting someone lynched. It can be a persuasive tool to get someone to speak up. My vote was initially on Ozzel as a placeholder since I disagree with Ozzel's point on waiting to lynch on Day 2, and he was the first to say so. It's anti town in my eyes, and reeks of scum trying to sway the town. Piett just so happens to be saying things I find suspicious, and I want his statement on what he's said I find just about everyone on the "no Day 1 lynch" train suspicious, but Piett's statements are more scummy in my eyes. We all need to cast a vote, Greer. You haven't cast a vote either, Greer. Waiting for something to come along and happen? A bandwagon perhaps? I'm asking you the same question I'm asking Motti: if you had to vote for someone right now, who would it be?

What would you classify as special enough that it needs to be brought up at this point? If the town's power roles did know anything, they'd be foolish to bring it up in a room with traitorous ears in it. Also, looking through the recordings of Day, I spotted this statement from you, Admiral: So you're not willing to stick your neck out? You're fine with joining a bandwagon? That to me sounds like you're trying to fly under the radar. Please, explain this to me, because at this point in time I find you the most suspicious person in this room, Admiral. Unvote: Admiral Ozzel (Actor Builder) Vote: Admiral Piett (Sandy) I would advise you to begin speaking, Admiral Piett.
-
I'll note that I don't suspect Daala at this point. Often times the first few votes is just getting the ball rolling, and I find nothing suspicious in Daala doing so.
-
Oooh, how scandalous. Nice knowing I'm worth being the first vote. I find this first remark incredibly off, and I doubt a newbie officer will be lynched unless they say something ridiculously stupid. I'm of another mind than Ozzel in our current predicament. I believe you should vote and lynch Day 1, as it gives the town something to go on Day 2. Throwing away a Day 1 vote for a no-lynch gives the scum ample opportunity to murder a guaranteed townie AND hide their trail easier amongst the town. Day Two with a coordinated no lynch just gives the scum more time to murder us off. You're also assuming we have a vigilante, and a trigger happy one at that. We don't know if they'll strike on the first night, so why rely on it to progress? Besides, the vigilante might murder a loyal townie by accident, or even worse, we might have a serial killer. There's a lot of "ifs" to this logic, and I don't buy into it. There's also the statement that Veers brought up. The implication is that you intend to be active tomorrow, but not today. I find that curious to say the least. For the time being I'm going to Vote: Ozzel (Actor Builder). I'm not wholly convinced of his scumminess, but I'd at least like others to know that I find this behaviour at best suspicious and at worst scummy. I expect this vote to move, but for now it'll stay if only to remind Ozzel that I'm questioning his logic and I want him to stick around. I'm going to answer this statement with another statement: what information will this line of questioning provide at this point in our investigation that can help the town?

As the Intelligence Director, the answer is yes. We do. Although Emperor Palpatine is still trying to determine what to do with it. There's a lot of lucrative franchises that needed to be weeded out. The House of Mouse probably doesn't want Alien attached to it's brand image. -

As a Colonel, Deelus, I don't expect you to understand the inner workings of the Emperor's Inner Council, just understand that if we question the House of Mouse, we lose funding for... some very important, very special projects coming down the line. The most I can say without being reprimanded for speaking about classified information to some with a rank as you, Deelus, is that unless you have a reason not to support an Imperial only space station sauna and spa that orbits the planet of Jaaku and has mascots based off of icon cartoon characters wandering about it to entertain guests, I'd suggest you not speak ill of the House of Mouse. After all, I'm the Intelligence Director, and our Emperor really doesn't like people who think this spa is a bad idea. -

Hey now, stick to canon stuff, Grand Moff. We don't want to get sued by Starfleet. As your Intelligence Director, I will remind everyone that you will be deducted brownie points if you reference properties not owned by the Galactic Emperor or the House of Mouse. -

Robert Muldoon was Jurassic Park's Game Warden. He met his fate while going to the Electricity Bunker with Ellie Sattler after realizing the velociraptor's had escaped. Robert wound up being outsmarted by them and was devoured by the velociraptors. Long story short: he's the guy that say's "clever girl".

Let's just hope Lego "spares no expense" on the Ian Malcolm figure. Speaking of figures, is no one going to give love to Robert Muldoon or John Hammond? I'd love to see figures of those two.
