  1. Karie felt uncomfortable talking about the Apprentice. "When the Apprentice hit me with the Harvester... It was like everything just shut off. I was alive, but only inside, like he had replaced me with... with someone else. There was a surge of pain, and then it went black. I can't remember anything about what happened during my trance." Karie was getting a little frantic. "What did he do me, after he hit me. What did I do, Arnulf? She asks, expecting the worst.
  2. "You were rather hush hush about your past back there. Care to explain?" She looked at Em intently.
  3. Don't worry, I will. Just wanting a general opinion before I jump head first into QMing.
  4. I intend for a friendly NPC to assist the party with a few things. And thank you for the advice on the Handy Suitcase. I actually like that better than the one I used. I have plans to throw a couple of bombs at the party, and I like the Dark idea better actually. Thank you Waterbrick Down!
  5. Since there's a lot of people loafing about the hall who have been waiting to go on a quest, I hope within a few weeks. I want to fine tune somethings and ensure that the enemies are a decent challenge.
  6. Right, so I'll have him heal his allies by 4. Alright, one more sneak peek and then it's off to work on this some more. Geoffrey, The Gentleman Level 6 Dark Humanoid HP: 30/30 SP:1 Special: Don’t Close Your Eyes Geoffrey shocks a person so badly they can’t see, causing the Blindness effect. Drops: 25 Gold, Potion (2), Gentleman’s Hat (Sp: 1, suitable for males, the wearer has a 1/2chance to avoid the Asleep effect) Gus, The Traveler Level 5 Dark Humanoid HP: 33/33 Special: Don’t Try To Hide Gus looks at the hero with his haunting eyes, causing the Slowed effect. Drops: Handy Suitcase (SP: -2, suitable for anyone. The hero may use one item instead of two. See, I told you it was handy!) Ivan, The Prisoner Level 4 Dark Humanoid HP: 35/35 Special: Silly Spook May Sit By Your Side Ivan appears out of thin air, scaring the hero and most likely turning their undergarments a lovely shade of yellow. The hero is now Afraid. Drops: Ball and Chain (WP: 4 Usable by Knights and Barbarians. Has a 1/2 chance to Stun the targeted opponent. I’ve got nothing clever for this one.) Feed back?
  7. "I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to Em!" She replied. "But he usually takes a while to come up with answers, so yeah, lets go talk." She takes him over to the crowded bar so she could talk with Em at the same time. "Alright, you've obviously got a lot on your mind, so lets hear it."
  8. Here's a sampling of a few of the vermin involved in Grim Grinning Ghosts: Dire Rat Level 5 Vermin HP: 12/12 Special: “For there are no cat’s in Eubric!” The Dire Rat sings a song of his people, healing his comrades by 4 hit points. “And the roads are paved with che-ese!” Drops: Potion Illuminating Widow Level 3 Vermin HP: 9/9 Special: “Now you see me!” The Illuminating Widow disappears for a round to recover 4 health. Drops: Tonic Angry Arachnid Level 4 Vermin HP: 11/11 Special: Seriously Ticked Off The Angry Arachnid bites the opponent for 6 damage. Drops: Remedy So that's only a sampling of some of the vermin involved. Feedback?
  9. Karie looked about her, then leaned into Arnulf. "Let's keep what happened there and the Stealer to ourselves." She sat up and went over to Em at the bar. She managed to grab a seat next to Em's. "So, you willing to talk now?" She wouldn't take no for an answer.
  10. Amnesiacs are always fun. I'm still waiting for that talk, by the way, so if you want to come over and just say "I don't know who I am." I can roll with that. I got some funny things I can quip about when it comes to characters with memory loss. Sometimes it takes a while to flesh out a character, and despite the trope having been done to death, and it gets old if everyone does it, it hasn't, so when you think you have a part of his past plotted down, put it in, and work from there. And yes, Handsome Jack is a great villain. He has a diamond pony. Cause he's rich!
  11. OOC: I'm going to assume this was all in your head, xxlrocka, if not, we're calling in paranormal investigators. Karie took note of the pointy hat mages comment about the pickpocket, and gives him a rather offbeat look. "Riiiiiight..." She then turned to Arnulf, who had just apologized for his outbreak. "Look, I understand why you're mad, I'm glad you expressed yourself, but next time don't go on a drunken ramble again. If you feel you want to talk about, then we'll go someplace else to talk about this." Karie looked about and sat properly in her chair. Pulling out her dagger she scratches "Karie's Table" into the tabletop. She then begins to fidget with her dagger.
  12. That still makes you a hero. Just in a QMing sense.
  13. "Said he was someone he wasn't, threw us into a cell, wound up getting his cousin involved. Killed his giant, ugly snake pet thing. You know, the usual. Or at least, I think that's the usual?" Karie hadn't been screwed over this badly since... well... now that she thinks about it, this is the worst she's been screwed over. "Consider it the worst time I've been screwed over. Wait, no... There was that time I wound up doing that Legends of Terra Chima play. Gah! Never again!" She wobbles in her chair, almost falling over, but manages to stabilize herself. "I'm okay, ladies and gentleman, I'm okay!"
  14. (applause) Well done! I must say, I'm incredibly pleased with the quest, and with my fellow team mates. I really have to thank you Endgame for creating a character who will certainly leave a lasting footprint on Karie. Then again, I left a lasting boot print in him, so... yeah. You don't know how freaked out I was when the Apprentice landed that Special on Karie. My mind exploded with both down right hatred for the botched roll, and sheer brilliance from a storytelling perspective to watch the Apprentice get what he wanted, and being able to role play that was truly memorable. I must thank you for the wonderful quest, Endgame, and I hope to be under your wing for another one of your romps in the near future. I think this quote fits nicely for the overall theme of the quest: (sarcastic) Wow. Bravo. Champagne. Cheers. High-five. Slow clap. You got the damn power core, didn’t you? (beat) You’ve been warned, the kid gloves are coming off. Tighten up the big-boy pants because things are gonna get really bad for you Vault Hunters. -Handsome Jack, Borderlands 2
  15. Karie eyes Brickington as he walks out. She leans back in her chair and puts her feet back on the table. "We got screwed over by our employer." She states. It wasn't the truth, but it wasn't a lie either.
  16. Don't worry Eric Su, undead make up only a portion of the battles. There will be vermin as well as beasts, and I intend for the undead to be a little easier to handle.
  17. "Change table? Are you mad? This table is mine, and I'm not moving. In fact, I consider it family now." She crosses her arms childishly.
  18. "Yeah, considering the amount of alcohol you've consumed, yeah, you should have a headache. I have nothing that'll help you, so I can't help you there, Arnulf." She turned to Brickington, a look of irritation in her eyes. "Look, not now, alright. I've got a lot on my mind."
  19. "Um... I'm still here." Karie was more than irritated at Arnulf's comment. "Look, if you want to be alone, you can simply move, since I claimed this table a while ago."
  20. I'm debating on the title for my quest. I've pinned it down to "Grim Grinning Ghosts" or "Going Ghost". If you get the second one, congrats you win a cookie. Any thoughts?
  21. "Well, I'm alive at least." She felt guilty about the guards, but didn't want to bring it up. "So, anyways, I've been thinking about the lack of theaters in Eubric. Jeez, makes you wonder what people do around here for entertainment, besides drink and pay heroes money."
  22. "Who is this blasted waiter?" Karie seems rather confused. "Whoever this person is, he's very sneaky."
  23. I haven't said anything about your quest yet only because I want to hear what you have to say about it first. And yeah, tough decisions are fun, but this quest is more or less a break from the heavy things that happened in yours. That's not to say their won't be decisions in mine, though.
  24. After Endgame's tough decision's from the previous quest, I wanted something more simple and yet still fun for the party. I'm uploading a few of the enemies right now just for a teaser. They'll be up shortly.
  25. "Around the city? I went to the library. Have I really been that long?" She steals Arnulf seat and puts her feet up on the table, leaning in her chair. "How's Arnulf doing anyways?" She notices the mage across the table. "Eh, a pointy hat guy? Karie, Karie Alderflask. Greatest pickpocket in the world." She puts her arm out, expecting a handshake.
