Heroica RPG - Quest #61: Grim Grinning Ghosts
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: Okay, Psy, any of Zoltan's actions will go to you for now. We most likely won't get into combat, but in case we do, you have control over his combat actions. Time to get this quest started. ("He's probably just picking up some supplies in the area. Oh, here he is now! If you guys do find any muffins, come back and see me, I'll be here tomorrow. See you in a bit!") The driver gets up on his wagon and drives off with Derpsy, and the two caskets. The party then makes their way to the church. Before they even reach the doorstep, the heavy wooden door swings open. A rather round man with a thick beard stands in the doorway, his hair tied back. He doesn't look as if he's in a pleasant mood. He eyes the party intently. He then speaks up: "The cemetery is closed in the evening and night until further notice. May I ask who you are, and why you are here?" -

Karie's face turned red with both anger and embarrassment, clearly visible under her make up. "Do you really wanna get me going? Perhaps we shouldn't forget that Mount Nessa exploded back at the hall a few days ago? So before you start harping on the "drunk girl", you consider the possibility that perhaps you need to relax, and listen to what I have to say. I don't want us offending any higher ups with snarky comments, especially with such a huge paycheck. And my badge is not silly, it's a status of authority!" Karie had a smug, and dignifying look about her. "If your so keen on me stepping up, fine. Bobby, what she just said, minus the nervous bit." She was much more laid back than the raging elf. -

OOC: I'm using my discretion to replace LTPro with LordoftheZempk, if he so chooses to join the quest. If not, I can just as easily run the quest with the four of you. The church's bell begins to ring, echoing through out the district. DONG! DONG! DONG! DONG! DONG! Derpsy begins to get a frantic. "Neigh-eh!" ("Looks like it's getting late. I've heard from some of the squirrels that hang around the stable that you don't wanna be around here when it gets dark...") The sun begins its descent below the horizon, the sky turning into a soft orange. -

OOC: Okay, sorry to slow this down so soon, but I'm currently trying to replace LTPro, due to his inactivity. I'm currently trying to get a replacement, so don't worry. Please remain in your seats, everything is under control. So far though, your all doing good, just keep role playing, and ignore the missing individual! -

Karie stopped messing around with her dagger at the sound of the elf's comment to the Hinckwell official. She looked at her with interest. She seemed familiar... She sternly looked at the elf. "Nessa, right? Look, see this thing here? This badge solidifies me as "Party Leader". And what you just said to... to... the guy you just insulted, what's your name again? Anyways, take me as a scum sucking rogue, or as the weird chick who paints her body white, I'm leading this little expedition into unknown markets, and I would appreciate, and so would Bobby over here, if you would keep sly comments like that to yourself. Okay?" -

Em looks about, trying to find a good place to use his shiny new shovel. The only problem is this is a cemetery, and digging around the area without permission could result in grave robbing charges. Perhaps digging around isn't the best idea. Looking around the front of the church, you don't notice anything unusual or off. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #61: Grim Grinning Ghosts
Kintobor replied to Kintobor's topic in The Heroica Archive
OOC: I'm glad your on my quest, PsyKater. I realized some heroes seemed to be loitering around the hall for a while, and this quest was supposed to change that, if only slightly. We only need to wait for LTPro, and then we can get this party started. Amma goes back to inspect the crates on the back of the wagon that the horse was talking about, only to find two wooden coffins. They aren't overly ornate, but they do seem sturdy and well made. The horse doesn't seem to have that great of a realization of what things are in the human world. The horse's eyes light up at the sound of potential muffins. "Ne-ee-eigh!" ("You'd do that for me? Thanks! Master is one of the members of the Carpenter's Guild. He works on the long wooden crates with his friends, and then I pull them up here with him. He's currently out. Somewhere. He said he'd be right back.") -
I love how Brothers-In-Arms, quite possibly one of the shortest quests in the history of Heroica could potentially have the greatest impact on Heroica to date. Also, I sort of goofed on the Forum title, just slightly. If a mod would fix it to coincide with the proper format for Heroica quests, it would be most appreciated.

The horse perks its ears up at the sound of Jeaux's voice. ("Wait, I can hear you? You must be one of those rangers I've heard about around the stables! My names Derpsy. Yeah, it's a silly name, I know, but whats a horse to do? Father McCreary? You mean the pudgy guy in robes? I think he's inside the Church, but I wouldn't disturb him right now, he blew up in master's face yesterday. There's been a lot less of these wooden crates I keep carrying here. Do you think that has something to do with it? Say, you wouldn't happen to have any food on you, would you? Perhaps a muffin? I really like muffins, despite only ever having six in my lifetime.") -
No, the quest doesn't contain Fenton Toast as an enemy drop.

Don't thank me, thank Sandy, he made it! But yes it is lovely!

At the East end of the cemetery is the Way's End Church, an old building with a protruding bell tower over the front entrance. It seems as if there's no one in at the moment. It's rather peaceful at this point in time. Few pedestrians are out and about, and the sound of birds can be heard on the breeze. On the side of the road a horse drawn cart waits with no driver. The wagon is loaded with two coffins, both laying side by side. The horse waits about, a lazy look in her eyes. "Neeeigh!" OOC: Wilkommen! For some of you, this will be your first quest. Let me give you a basic run down of how interacting out of battle works. If there is someone you wish to talk to, or something you wish to exam or interact with, simply bold your desired move, like so! Give it a try with the few objects I've given you! When considering your actions, think about your class's job trait. They can often be very helpful! If you ever need a refresher, you can always ask me, or consult the Rules and Discussion forum for a refresher on the different classes. Also, if I screw up, please let me know, because that way I can fix it up, and better the experience for both you and me. You have 24 hours to confirm, if not I'm going to assume the ghosts got you on the way to the church, and you will NOT be participating. Don't worry if you purchased any new goods, I have magical editing powers that change your stats. Let the role playing... COMMENCE!

Darkness falls over Eubric, as the moon nestles into the sky. The patrons of the Heroica bar either too drunk or drowsy to take notice of the ghastly image being scrawled out across the wall. When morning comes, a small crowd begins to form around the wall in the usually rather quiet foyer of the hall. "Great, first muddy tables, and now this! Where is that janitor? Do we even have a janitor?" The orcish barmaid walks off to find some cleaning supplies, leaving the astonished crowd to contemplate the message. The message scrawled across the wall reads as follows: "The following individuals have been invited to the Way's End Church this evening: Amma (PsyKater) PARTY LEADER Zoltan (LTPro) Jeaux (joeshmoe554) Em (emjajoas) Heckz (Eric Su) We're just dying to meet you!! -The Residence of the Eubric Cemetery" OOC: For those of you who have been chosen, I'd like to say congratulations! The quest should be up by the time you read this. You have 24 hours to confirm. If there is any problems, please let me know ahead of time either by PM or an OOC, or Out Of Character post in the Quest Forum. Alright 61ers, get your supplies ready, go shopping if need be, and finish anything you need to. The ghosts can't wait to make your acquaintance...

OOC: For all those who signed up for Quest 61, the Sign Ups end tonight at midnight. I'll have the list up shortly thereafter. Most of you will be asleep by that time, but that's alright. It'll allow you to wake up tomorrow to either the wonderous trumpeting blaze of "Yes! You're in!" or "No! You're not in!"

Heroica RPG - Quest #62: Insider Trading

"Yeah, I guess you could say that!" The poor vendor she aquirred it from obviously wasn't used to pickpockets. "And now, we wait!" She finds a nearby rock to sit on, and pulls out her Heirloom Dagger and begins to toss it up into the air, and fiddle with it. OOC: No problem! Just for future reference, Red is anything smart alec here says aloud, and anything in black is everything else. -

"You like it?" Karie fiddled with it, ensuring it was a aligned as straight as a ruler. "I got it off one of the vendor's on the way up." It seemed that the old saying is true: The best things in life are free! -

Karie finds her way to the Hinckwell employer, an aura of authority surrounding her. She fastens a badge onto her corset, crafted out of a cheap looking metal with the words "Party Leader" on it. She looks about the dock curiously. "So, where's the boat?" Karie is ready to lead her party into battle, hopefully not one where lives are at stake. -
I'm not sure actually. Where's Endgame when you need him?
-
Yes! Now that one's funny! The Apprentice's Skull (SP: 2, Allows to use Hex as if it was a class trait, so you may hex anyone, at any time to assist you both inside and outside of combat. "But of course, Mr A." Accessory) As a side note, what is up with you and Hexing people, Endgame? First the Apprentice, and now Eidolon.
-
Can it be used as an artefact?Wren's Skull (SP: 4, Solidifies your status as a badass. All players must refer to you as a one as long as Wren's Skull is equipped)

Karie walks up to Portia's, a grimacing look on her face. She obviously remembered their last encounter. Karie begins to browse through her wares, one hand behind her back, the other outstretched with her index finger swiftly pointing at different wares, Portia's eyes following its every move. Her other hand reaches for smoke bomb when Portia smacks it. "Look are you going to buy anything or do I have to call the guards?" Karie crossed her arms and sighed. "Party pooper." She mumbled under her breath. She purchased 2 smoke bombs, 4 potions, 2 remedies, 1 mead, 2 venoms, and 1 lightning bomb, adding up to the sum of 85 gold pieces, which after deducting from her 143, left her with 58 gold pieces. 10- 20- 20- 15- 10- 10= 85- 143= 58 She continued to wander through the market until she came across the gnome again. He kept a close eye on her, following her as she made her way through his wares. "How much is the telescope?" "For you, 40 gold pieces." "That's the original price though?" "I know." Karie dug into her pockets and counted out the 40 gold pieces, and handed them to the gnome, leaving her with 18 gold pieces. 58-40= 18 With her pouch of coins severely lighter,Karie carried took her new found items to the docks in search of the Hinckwell ship.
-
"Well, that's my cue." She stands up and tosses Heckz a silver coin. "Try not to get eaten, alright!" She smiles and winks at him before she makes her way out of the hall, and out to the market for a quick excursion to the market.

Alright, thanks for the heads up! That was just what I was looking for.
