  1. For me, the only reason I'm buying a Microfighter is to get a minifig on the cheap and part out the rest. At $16, the chances of that are less likely, especially for Mando, of which I have three already (4 if you count the advent Mando). Absolutely no interest in the Snubfighter.
  2. Especially obnoxious to tease something then periodically pop into and view the thread to admire the wild speculation...
  3. I missed out on previous UCS X-wing models so I'll likely be in on this unless they completely botch it. Might be an unpopular opinion around here but I'm glad they're revisiting it.
  4. Everything looks good but I think I'll limit my collecting to the spaceman, orc, t-rex, carrot, and falconer. The rest are nice but they don't really grab me. The koala is cute...hope to see that in other sets.
  5. It's literally the second photo on the "Top" category.
  6. Instagram is the easiest place to find them.
  7. Cautiously optimistic about the Orient Express. I hope it's in the rough scale of the Crocodile and they're able to keep it at or below $200. The new Hogwarts is just too big for my taste...and available display space.
  8. As others have stated, if recent history is any indicator, the first holiday GWP will be Black Friday weekend and the second will be early December. There is no reason to expect any different this year. 40564 Winter Elves & 40565 Santa's Workshop are the rumored names, no images yet.
  9. Yes, really. It has been considered a derogatory term for quite a while now.
  10. It's 2022 and you're still using the c-word? Really?
  11. No one said or acted like it was "the end of the world." Take your own advice...
  12. It sums up my thoughts very well. Underwhelming set.
  13. It's not that there are fewer details. For me, the simplicity of the builds is what's disappointing. The previous year's sets have had interesting and / or somewhat complex aspects to the build, be it the roof pitch or the elf bunk. This year's set lacks that and when it's marketed as 18+ I think that's a shame. This set could easily have 8+ on the box. With all that said, I think it has value as a WV set and I'll add it to my collection at some point but I'd be lying if i said it wasn't a letdown for me.
  14. Thanks for the compliments, guys! One thing of note: Honeydukes shop was a straight swap of colored pieces for white to make the roof more snowcovered, whereas I added eaves and gingerbread detail to the gable ends to the tavern. On the stock structure the roof ends abruptly at the side walls and didn't look terribly realistic. Adding a stud's width to either side gives the building a little more dimension.
  15. Re-upping my WV versions of the Hogsmeade set given the newfound interest...
  16. The trolley is great, the buildings are not. I'm indifferent to the facades...they're fine. But the methods of construction are not at all consistent with the Creator Expert line nor previous year's builds. We've come to expect something more than a glorified City building and this is a huge let down. Maybe they dumbed this theme down in order to market for a family build and if that's the case I'm not a fan.
  17. Hard to make a judgement on such a poor quality photo but it seems to be less festive? Looking forward to the official images. Part of the charm of the WV sets are the little details inside so I hope they're not lost on this edition. I've modded the Hogsmeade set for my WV so I think these will fit in but we'll see. Hopefully we see more tomorrow.
  18. Looking forward to seeing what you're doing. I've been kicking this around for my winter village.
  19. For me, trolley would be welcome. It would be a nice change of pace from the holiday train. I display my village on a fireplace mantle so there isn't enough room for a completed train track, instead my train just sits static. It's a fine way to display but the train itself takes up a fair amount of space. Looking forward to the new set.
  20. FYI in case you haven't seen it on all the outlets: Elf House going EOL. Get it while you can.
  21. Orange makes sense as there hasn't been an orange Creator vehicle yet and it's relatively iconic for that era of Camaro. I hope it has multiple build options the way the Mustang and 911 did.
  22. Agree 100%. They don't come close to matching the yellow 6060 arch profile to the brick built windshield and fascia. The result is clunky and sloppy looking.
  23. The open wagon cargo...is that an electric car charging station with a solar panels? The locomotive has a very strange look to the front. Not a fan of this at all. Hard pass on this one.
  24. I don't think so...the downward curve isn't quite the same. It looks like the yellow piece is a 6060 arch with a curved slope as infill. Hard to say for sure but it looks brick built to me.
  25. I'll wait for better photos but I think that's where I'm at, too. And basically where I was with the last cargo train.
