Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Phazon replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Everybody's reactions show how beautiful this is. I never exected this to become as large as it is right now and while I enjoyed the pictures from the first chapters, the castle exceded my expectations of what a Lego castle could look like. The diorama could almost be real. Congratulations with your masterpiece, please don't stop building. -
Amazing, everything fits so well together! This is an inspiring build, the microscope and the ringcase with the carriage, well done. I would rather buy this one than the Bakery or the Cottage. It seems like the roof was built with snow. Good luck in the contest, this is definitely one of the best entries so far.

It sure does, I didn't notice this form the pictures. Well, untill now.

Thanks for the review, I enjoyed reading every part of it! You amazed me with the good quality pictures. The picture of the back is what's bothering me. It's just that you can see some holes in a petrol tank, which would cause explosions if it was the real thing. I don't like the aesthetics of that part, the rest looks better than the older version. You can see that there is a gap between the botom section and the cab, just like the Lego version. I could be mistaken, but I think that this is part of the truck's suspension. Diesel Dave doesn't like to assemble the bumper after every bumpy ride.

Your city is really impressive! Beautiful MOC's and the modulars together and a big layout too, I like it. How large is your display table? That cinema looks like the artdeco cinema some of us expected to get. The town's size is what makes it stand out, because it gives the feel of a real city.

The instructionsmanual from the GE might help, because those windows look like the ones you built. Anyways if the entrance isn't too fragile and if you have no plans for the building other than displaying it at home, you won't have to change anything, but that's just my opinion. I don't exactly know how you built the entrance, but a small interior piece which is placed against the offset angular bricks is what I would use for more stability.

It was definitely worth the wait, I espacially love the second building. It resembles some buildings I liked to build myself, but are ofcourse, a bit too large for my layout. There are some interesting building techniques you've used, well done.

You just blew me away! Simply stunning, great job on all those details. The monster is recognisable and yet very original, I love it!

Me too, I saw the building in your signature and missed out on this topic. At first glance the three different floors were a bit strange together, a dojo, comicstore and a dentist in one modular! The building looks much better now you have modified it a little. I really like your signs, the words seemed to be too large for Lego signs, but they look great. I also like your entrance to the comicshop and the colors blend in really well, great job!

Brickshelf vs. Flickr vs. Something else
Phazon replied to 750ACE's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I chose Flickr as it is easy to use and I like the layout. The background isn't distracting and like some of you already said, a comment on a small area is just a great option. Brickshelf has its drawbacks, while the images don't appear immidiately and it's occasionally offline. Flickr is however lacking a proper zoom funcion for larger images, it tends to show the image in a smaller size or in the exact same size as the 'original' images. -
Welcome to Eurobricks 2013-lego! It seems like Brickshelf isn't working at all, so I'll have to wait to see the pictures.I am looking forward to see them!

I think that you might want to change those round pillars for some of these: http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/Part_43888. Some arches could work too, I guess.

That's a beautiful modular you've made Kristel! Apart form your brilliant interiors, I like the way you've kept the building from being to straight and square. My minor point of criticism is that the shops facade looks a bit boring, because it is just a bit too straight. It does not completely draw your attention to it, which you would expect from a shop. The show case, however is great. All in all, I really like this building.

These replies are very useful to me, so thanks! I tried the 14 wide angled wall, but I think that it stresses the bricks too much. I am therefore going to try something else like the turntable method. I used it before, but never managed to connect the angled wall to the rest of the building, although that was a couple of years back. I have one more question: Does anyone know how the Black Cat Cabaret was built? I can't figure it out with the pictures alone.

I like the Palace Cinema just like the other modular buildings. I think that it fits perfectly between the other modular buildings. The only thing I don't like is the car, but then again, I didn't like the firetruck from the Firebrigade, but I do now, now I own it. The same thing might happen with this car, although It seems unlikely. The thing is that TLG can not use a MOC as official set, because some of us have seen it before and would be disappointed. Moreover, TLG makes sets which are more solid than most of the MOC's we make. The reason for chosing an other building does certainly not depend on appearance of a set. Coming back to the sticker issue, I think that this building has stickers. Stickers can be applied on walls and on doors and this supports the thought behind the Creator line. But discussing this is useless anyways, because we will find out soon, I hope.

The gate is looks great already, I can't wait to see the full castle taking shape! -
My corner modular is in fact a modular cinema, just like the Palace Cinema. These are some views of how the building should be looking, remember it's still a WIP. Here is the link to my Flickr: http://www.flickr.co...hoto_8328657875 I hope that it makes more sense now.

Thanks for the replies! The one thing that didn't work out for me were those hinge bricks. I'll try to take a picture to show you why, but I need to rebuild that section first, as I broke it down yesterday. Ofcourse the building will be showed here on Eurobricks and I may add some pictures of a 16-wide modular this week.

Hello, after several years of browsing around this forum, I encoutered a problem during my latest modular building. I thought that there would be no better reason to sign in to this forum. Without further ado, my problem is that I don't know how I should build an angled wall. The first time I tried, the angle of the wall didn't match the angle of the plate. My main inspiration was RoxYourBlox' entry for the Modular Madness contest, the Black Cat Cabaret. I tried to use the same dimensions as his building has on the groundflour. With that I mean things as distance to the street, wall length, etc. However, I got stuck wit his angled wall and I couldn't find a guide or something about this subject. So does anyone know how I could solve this issue? Thanks in advance!
