Well the other day I ordered all the remaining parts I need to complete the rest. The only exception is the Chrome Gold hands I need to finish that (keyring) figure. But they are very rare. Some sellers on Bricklink have some torsos etc that aren't printed. Sure you'll pay more for them, but there y'go. This is not a cheap subsection of our hobby! I'll see about making the spreadsheet into some kind of format which is easy for others to use.
-
Thanks! There isn't an official list or anything, but I've made a spreadsheet of all the parts of all the different colours that are available, and I'm slowly ticking them all off. From that, I reckon there's a total of 41 currently able to be completed. Without removing prints is a different thing entirely, as it is possible to get torsos etc which haven't been printed, but which only come in sets as printed. In other words, they're very likely from a factory before they've been printed. None of the minifigs in the image I posted have had printing removed.

Yeah looking at the official pics I think they are DBG. Shame if it is Tan. Yeah the legs and arms are dual moulded, but the torso and hips aren't, which is a start!
-
Am I right in thinking that the Tin Man CMF has Flat Silver hands? :) Also, does the Scarecrow use a Bright Light Yellow head? And a torso and hips in Vibrant Coral!
-
I only need the torso for Magenta. I paid about $8 for the hips and legs. I have parts on order to complete the Bright Pink and Dark Orange figs (and I've ordered the Chrome Red keyring), and just need the following for the remaining ones: Old Brown hands Flesh hips and legs Old Light Grey torso, arms and hands Magenta torso Medium Azure head Oh and I've noticed today that Lavender hips are available in the Lego Movie 2 CMF series.
-
Hmm you're right, it doesn't. I guess I just thought that from looking at the photo, where the blue goes right to the edge of the legs on all sides - I've never seen printing that good before, so assumed they were dual-moulded. Especially when on the official 'set image', the printing clearly doesn't go right to the edges.
-
On the Bricklink entry they're dual-moulded: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?M=coltlbm42 I already have the head, torso, arms and hands.

Hi all, I've only just come across this topic! I started collecting monochrome figs about 3 months ago. Last week I got the latest batch of parts, which has got me up to 34, with 8 more (that I'm aware of) still able to be completed. With having so many, I also decided to build myself a modular display case for them: One thing I'm curious about, I didn't have Yellowish Green legs on my list as being available, until I saw this thread. Looking for them on BL, it seems that BL list that minifig as having dual-moulded legs, and the Yellowish Green ones simply don't seem to be available on BL. Anyone know what's going on there? Oh and is anyone else excited for the possibility of Vibrant Coral monochromes?

No they weren't. None of them were, with the possible exception of the Winter Village one.

Honestly, everyone is moaning too much. The only modular that I can't remember anyone moaning about was the Assembly Square, and that was only because no-one expected it to be 50% bigger. Every other modular since Pet Shop - every one - people have found something to moan about over them. Town Hall - Too big, too expensive. Palace Cinema - Bland interior Parisian Restaurant - Too small in comparison to other modulars Detective's Office - Too blocky exterior and 'only one side three floors high?' Brick Bank - Too short, only two floors, and 'what's with that laundrette?' Downtown Diner - wrong style, no smiley faces And yet 90% of you will have or want them all. They've grown on you. You've seen reviews, photos, seen them in the flesh, seen others get them, and you've realised you like them after all, despite all the moaning when they were released. And you'll do the same for this one.

In the UK: 2010 GE £132.99 2011 PS £119.99 2012 TH £149.99 2013 PC £129.99 2014 PR £142.99 2015 DO £142.99 2016 BB £129.99 2017 AS £179.99 2018 DD £129.99 2019 CG £159.99 To me, the last three years feel like outliers, priced quite a bit lower than they should really have been. If you take the PR and DO as the 'real' price of them, back in 2014/15, then another £17 in four years seems about right.

Regarding the price, it's gone up in all three markets, which makes me think they've finally adjusted the modulars for inflation - they've been around the same price (certainly in the UK) since Grand Emporium back in 2010. In fact, Downtown Diner is cheaper in the UK than Grand Emporium was, despite having 300 more pieces, which makes me think they've kept the prices artificially low for a few years now.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I suspect it's not the best photo angle of it. I think it'll look better from the left a bit more. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Paperballpark replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
He originally said he'd seen on instagram that there'd be a new modular. I took that to mean someone on instagram said 'there will be a new modular', with no details at all. From his posts above, that seems to be the case, but others have assumed he's actually seen it, when he hasn't. -
A 'free' service is never free - someone, somewhere, is always paying for it. I have about 4000 photos on Flickr, and as the person above says, there's simply no-one offering the amount of free space that Flickr currently does. According to their posts explaining it, only about 3% of free members have more than 1000 photos. Our LUG (Brickish) has a Flickr group, and only about 10% of the members will be affected. That said, having read the posts I can understand why they're doing it. $50 (£38) a year isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, and with 30% off it's even better. The time it'd take me to move all my photos to another service would be more costly (if I was being paid for that time!) than just upgrading, so that's what I've done. It actually does make sense, because those who gain the ability to store 5K photos will be Pro members, who will be paying for it... With only 3% of their free members affected, They will have calculated that this change won't do them any long-term harm.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Paperballpark replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
The trick to 'not revealing' something is to give certain bits of specific info about the set, which can be shown after the reveal to have been based on knowledge rather than just being a good guess. E.g. 'the vehicle has a red front and a black rear, and the set has two cyprus trees in it' EDIT: To be clear, the above is an example, NOT what is in the set. -

I honestly wouldn't mind if they just did a different design of cottage each year. After all, which village only has one house in it?! -
Do modern white bricks still turn yellow?
Paperballpark replied to ProducePrincess's topic in General LEGO Discussion
My understanding is that any exposure to light triggers the process of yellowing - so even if you then store them away in the dark, they'll still yellow as the process has already started. I think I also read that the more they're exposed to light, the worse it becomes, but that could be me misremembering. -
I was only saying that because the Lego trains FAQ says this: Can I use and connect the new LEGO® Powered Up Smarthub, motors and lights with my older LEGO Power Functions battery box and motors? Unfortunately, no. The change of technology between LEGO® Power Functions (infra-red signal) and LEGO® Powered Up (Bluetooth connection), combined with a change of the wire connectors, means the two systems are not compatible. Which strongly implies that they're not going to release a converter cable.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Paperballpark replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Ah, I wasn't sure what they meant by 'a while' -
Slighty off-topic, but does anyone know if it would be possible to connect PU motors to PF power? Obviously some kind of non-lego component would be needed to join the two wires, but fundamentally, can the PU motors be run using PF power? The reason I ask is that I've got into GBCs this year, and most GBCs use PF motors, powered by 9v train controllers, using the Lego adaptor lead. 9v tran controllers are used so that batteries don't have to be replaced, and the motors don't cut out at any point. PU is worrying in this respect, in that it appears there will be no official way to connect it to PF (and therefore to 9v). However, if it just needs a few wires spliced together, that's less of a worry (although still not ideal).
