These look great. How did you attach the cheese-wedge (bumper) parts?
  2. Your logic is quite appropriate. In legal terms, you cannot copyright the arrangement of Lego pieces, but you may copyright and maintain exclusive rights to building instructions for such arrangement, photos of the model, and other materials or content that you create yourself. Because of this, and the fact that most people in the "regular" world don't share the deep regard for Lego, and/or recognize the talent in our community, it would be very difficult to successfully challenge someone duplicating one's Lego design. I do find it despicable behavior, particularly since our community is so kindred, it is shameful and disrespectful to not even give credit to the designer (whom the seller is now making money from).
  3. Some items are the same price as the Lego store, these items are the ones to use these promotions with.
  4. Yes! I really wanted to hear an explanation of your technique you devised, but did not want to be impolite and pry. I am eagerly awaiting now. :)
  5. That is beautiful and wonderfully detailed. I only wish there were a hundred more photos of it.
  6. Those are fantastic. My fault for not recognizing what the black "Lincoln" and the red "Metropolitan" cabrio are from (that is what they looked like to me), but I like them all the same. Very clever techniques.
  7. I used it a couple of times now. I found it very handy, and am quite happy with it. If it had some additional features, it would be even better, but I don't mean to criticize, I think it is great program. Thanks so much for developing it and making it available!
  8. This looks like a great model, and I love the theme. I can't wait for it.
  9. You can use the a panel piece to get better precision. I think it is half the width of a tile.
  10. I deal with that aspect almost every build. My Dickens model was over 4000 pieces, and I had to come up with creative ways to make the bricks work in the colors available.
  11. I made a model of an iconic building in my hometown (The Dickens Opera House) and received only praise for it. The owners (after having seen the model) even supplied me with their graphics files to make the sign for the building to really authenticate it.
  12. Wow, good deal. How did you score that?
  13. I want to use this part in a model, but am unable to find it anywhere. I searched the forums for the topic already. but encountered lots of posts discussing Windows as an O\S in regards to LDD. Thanks for any insight.
  14. I tend to cast my votes for the non-licensed projects. I love the DC-10 model and the blimp.
  15. I am floored by this, it is so stunning. Your building techniques, like using clips and the 4L poles is such an awesome detail, and the SNOT techniques to capture the buildings in such small scale, I am just entirely impressed. I love the whole theme, it should be in a Library or a Museum. So incredible.
  16. That is awesome. One of the best Lego coasters I have ever seen. I would love to hear more details about the build process, and how you made the track.
  17. Awesome, I can't wait to see that built. I am also lacking sufficient pieces, and am making an order with the next pay check.
  18. Oh that looks good. I'm clearly struggling too hard. Thanks for posting that picture, it really helps embolden and inspire me. I was getting pretty frustrated a couple days ago.
  19. Wow, I think this might look better than the original.
  20. Very cool, do you have any more photos of it? I thumbed through your brichshelf and flickr pages, but didnt see them. Thanks.
  21. I've been playing with this set over the weekend and have some comments and tips to maybe help others out. I will consider taking pictures if there seems to be interest in it. My first attempt at building with this set was a failure. I began by building a tall structure, attaching the slips and ball ties, then trying to attach the rails. I broke several of the rare and critical tie rods with ball. This is due to the length and rigidness of the rails that pull and twist your parts apart. This is not the way to build this. I found success by attaching the slips to the rail, placing a ball-clip every few inches, closer together on corners and bends. TO make corners, I put the tie-clips very close together (on the inside rail of the corner) then attach the outside rail spacing the tie's further apart on that end. Then adjust the ball clips to align to the Lego system elements to attach without strain. This is still very tricky but I am starting to get the hang of it.
  22. Yes, I received mine today. I am very glad I ordered 2 sets since the part count isn't real large, and 2 appears to be enough to recreate most wooden coasters I've encountered. Can't wait to build something. Ok, there is an issue with the part count here. I started building something, and quickly realized that I am going to run out of the rail ties (with ball). There are 300 clips in the set, but only 100 rail ties. They should have come in complementary amounts since they are used exclusively to each-other. I should have noticed this before. Now I wish I had ordered 3.
  23. Wow, that is so detailed, and it looks spot-on! You are one talented Lego designer and builder.
  24. I needed a lot of rare colored pieces for a model (not so rare they were never released in a set), and Lego Brick Buy came through. They were rather expensive still, but they could get them in quantity.
