Judge Cain rushes back into the basement of the Town Hall. In the accessible areas, he finds no loose tiles. (Inaccessible areas would be the jail cells and the armory) Ralph and Valerie embrace each other lovingly. The townspeople finish exchanging information, when James notices something. "Where are all the wheels on the cars?" A quick check of all vehicles around the area supports this. James heads for the docks. "Who could do such a thing? And the boat's been ruined too!" Everyone nervously looks towards the Congressman. "This is a preliminary phase, to ensure that nobody leaves town. We cannot allow people to leave Alabatha, as we're going to have to catch the Communists. The National Guard blockade tomorrow will simply reinforce this. It's getting late, I advise everyone to return home and rest for the evening, before we have to wake up tomorrow morning to continue our searches. Lock your doors, windows, and other means of entry to your homes. Answer the door for no one. Be safe and careful, and I hope to see you all here bright and early tomorrow." the Congressman said. As the townspeople headed back to the respective homes for the evening, a figure was watching them from the rooftop. Something particularly nasty was going to happen tonight... End Chapter 3. This topic may now be locked. Attention all players! Please get those night actions in to me in the next 48 hours, or they will not be counted! Now is the time for everyone to send in an action!

It's a standard issue Soviet Army pistol. The group unites with the other group nearby the fountain. (All Chapter3-B people are now asked to post in Chapter3-A's topic.) (This topic can now be locked, please.)

"Yes." The group unites with the other group nearby the fountain. (All Chapter3-B people are now asked to post here.)

"I've known about this for three days, since the plan was finalized. You must understand, this is a last resort. Of course I couldn't tell you guys, it's classified at the highest level." The Congressman looks away briefly. "I do have an escape plan." he says "The CIA are the ones who finalized this project. The FBI were not informed of it." The Congressman says. "Once again, the plan is a last resort. However, I'd say about four days." "I cannot comment on the plan for implementation." The townsfolk leave the second floor, and head outside. Please note for fairness to future players that the Cargo Ship is not affiliated with the CIA and does not contain any aspects of X-K2P. They're a clueless bunch who were scheduled to arrive anyway to drop off cargo. (Please do not lock this topic yet.)

There's a pistol under the rug, and there's nothing between the clothes racks. There's nothing suspicious in the toy area. All windows are intact. "I believe we've done all we can here." Inspector Liebenston says. The group heads back to the Town Hall. (please do not lock this topic yet.)

Director Smith is the second director of the CIA. The document is dated two days ago. The group heads upstairs. It's the children's department, there's a few clothing racks nearby the windows, a toy area, and a giant chandelier over the staircases. Nothing is on the floor, other than a rug in the corner.

Mayor Bradford picks up the document. FROM THE DESK OF CIA DIRECTOR SMITH, EYES ONLY-PRESIDENT TRUMAN, CONGRESSMANS NIXON AND BOB, The Alabatha Situation can be solved via a few methods, one I'm most disturbed about is X-K2P. This plan would initiate one of the largest cover-ups that the United States Government has ever performed. This is meant to be used as a last resort, of course, only when the situation gets too bad, and the Communists there start killing. X-K2P, as you probably don't know, will annihilate everyone present in the town, despite their affiliation. It would be wise to avoid this, however, preparations are already underway. We've dispatched a CIA Agent to the town earlier yesterday, he probably landed this morning. Congressman Bob, you should be informed by him when he lands. He'll be destroying all means of communication in and outside of town, and I've been on the phone with the Governor of Delaware. He has informed me that the National Guard will be dispatched tomorrow in order to keep everyone in town. I understand, gentlemen, that we're taking extreme measures here, but we cannot risk the rest of the country to find out that we've let communists integrate into our society. Keep in note that a cargo ship will be landing in port tomorrow. Once again, I must stress to all of you that this is a last resort thing. X-K2P will only be used if we can't find the Reds in Alabatha. -Director Smith, CIA" "I put that there this morning after I arrived, and while you were eating breakfast." Congressman Bob says. "I'm still here." Congressman Bob says.

Will checks Chief Phelps desk, but it's not so full, as if he's emptying it. Will then checks inside the interrogation room under the seats, but finds nothing there either. James has a good idea about what X-K2P is... There weren't any floorboards in the basement, it's a tile. Dieter runs back to the correct topic. Mayor Bradford opens the safe using the combination. There's a few documents inside there all pertaining to X-K2P. With this knowledge, and the document found in Chapter Three-B, it would appear that all of the goals have been solved.

Officer Fields picks up the document, and starts to read it: "FROM THE DESK OF CIA DIRECTOR SMITH, EYES ONLY-PRESIDENT TRUMAN, CONGRESSMANS NIXON AND BOB, The Alabatha Situation can be solved via a few methods, one I'm most disturbed about is X-K2P. Farmer Simmons rereads the document, just for the effect.

Only a desk lamp and a few pens are on the Officers' desks. Judge Cain isn't in the basement, he's on the second floor. Will accidentally tips over the water cooler, sending water cascading across the floor. There's nothing odd about the cooler. Officer Harrison checks the inside of the railing, but there's nothing there. He then checks around the safe for the combination, but doesn't find it. Opening the top desk drawer, Chief Phelps finds the combination as 34, 21, 56. He then checks the rest of his office, but finds nothing else odd. Dieter posts in the wrong topic! However, there is no entrance into the grocery store from the tunnel.
-
It's not possible with this kind of lock. Is it at all possible that there's a paper around with the combination on it? "Long as I can remember." Chief Phelps says. James finds that the desks of Fields and Harrison are both locked. Will peeks under all six desks in the squad room. There's a garbage bin under each one, but they're all empty. He then walks into the interrogation room, which only has a table and two chairs. Other than that, it's devoid of anything else.
-
Looking on the floor for anything odd, Farmer Simmons finds a fallen document. There's a staircase leading upstairs, as well as a few display sets with the various housewares. Looking under the table, Gloria determines nothing is hidden in the room.
-
Chief Phelps enters the room carefully, securing it. It's empty. There are six desks in the center of the Squad Room, each belonging to an Officer. The Chief has his own office in the corner. There's a water cooler in one area, and an interrogation room in another corner. There's a safe nearby the door. There's no keys or notes in the drawers that Will goes through. James looks into the Council Chambers. Since the Councilmen don't have offices, James checks the seat where Councilman Ackerson sits. Going through his papers and personal effects, James determines that the Councilman is a loyal American, and not a spy. "I wonder what the combination to that safe is..." Congressman Bob says.

Dieter's does not have a trace of the passage, meaning that it does not enter Dieter's vicinity. "All these buildings you see downtown here were constructed during the Roaring' Twenties." Mayor Bradford says. "They were originally a lot smaller." You're overruled. Everyone proceeds upstairs to the second floor. It's getting late now, and it's probably about four o'clock in the afternoon. Everyone's stomach grumbles due to the lack of a lunch. "It's getting late." Congressman Bob says. "After we search this floor, we should probably regroup with the others to see what they found out."
-
There is no basement to this establishment. You don't have a radio. "You first." Farmer Simmons says. Officer Fields gives him a dirty look, and then climbs up the stairs, gun out. The others follow. Everyone ascends to the second floor.
-
James pulls Dieter's blueprints, but the Simmons Farm blueprints are not present. The hotel blueprints have no trace of a secret passage. Will and James have searched both offices. The basement and the first floor are the same size, so the secret entrance should be somewhere in the basement. Dr.Lloyd moves the furniture around, but there's nothing underneath or hidden.

Since the hat you found is a popular hat, there is a hat like that on the hat rack. Will then looks at the papers, but there's nothing of interest. Opening the drawers, you find a few keys. The window is locked, and the lamp is an ordinary lamp. The tunnel continues North, towards Dieter's, the Hotel, and the Farm. The Jail Cells could be a safer place, but the armory is still likely secured. And I can't tell you where the tunnel is near.

Patrick tells the different clothing sizes of his family. None of them would fit inside the wet suit. There is a definite connection Farmer Alan looks for water tracks leading away from the wet suit, but they've all dried up. Dolores goes Christmas Shopping. Noting the jewelery and perfume, there's nothing out of place or odd.
-
"I don't recognize the hat exactly, but it's very common." The Congressman says. Will looks at the two offices remaining here. One belongs to the Zoning Commissioner, and the other belongs to the Archive Collector. Both offices are identical, with a hat rack near the door, a desk, a few drawers, a lamp, and a window in the back looking out towards the river that's in the back of the Town Hall. Will then checks the desk of the first office, the Zoning Commissioners, and finds a few papers.

Stevie checks for an identification. It has the insignia of the U.S. Marines. Officer Fields checks the size of the diving suit. It's a mens large. Officer Fields should have reworded that statement...
-
Farmer Alan walks slowly towards the front of the store. There's a footprint nearby the front of the store, and the floor is devoid of papers. The changing room could serve as a hiding spot. Stevie once again has fun hitting the walls, but he can't find any hollow walls. There's nothing hidden under the hats or wigs. Officer Fields takes out his pistol, and then opens the changing room. It's empty save for a wet diving suit. Gloria inspects the cash register, but finds nothing out of place. Ralph can't find anything out of place as he approaches the dressing room.

"There sure are!" the Congressman says. Officer Harrison checks the reception area for the blueprints, but they're not there. Valerie searches the reception area for these items, but they aren't there. The name of the receptionist is Claire. James looks for the blueprints in the records room, and finds them. He looks for the secret passages on the map, and finds that part of the blueprints have been ripped off in the top. It's impossible to tell where the passage starts, but the tunnel continues on out of the blueprints. "I know of an old prohibition tunnel from the corrupt administration that used to control the city." The Congressman says. Mayor Bradford goes looking for the blueprints on the Department Store, the Lighthouse, and the Hospital. The hospital and lighthouse blueprints are present, but the Department Store's blueprints have been taken already. Mayor Bradford then reads the papers on the receptionist's desk, but there's nothing of interest written there. James has a good idea, but the town plan isn't present either. It appears to have been taken. Dr.Lloyd checks the walls for secret entrances, but can't find any. "I'm sure we'll come upon the passage later, but for now, shall we head upstairs?" Congressman Bob asks.

There's a checkout counter and a changing room towards the back. In the front is an assortment of hats and scarfs for sale. Nearby the other front are a few mannequins modeling various clothing articles. In the middle is a display of perfumes and jewelery. There's also a staircase upstairs. Patrick pockets the key. There is an insignia on the key, which says "ADS", standing for Alabatha Department Store.

James picks up the note. It says: "Hope you don't mind me borrowing this. We're all on the same side here." He then looks at the deeds to the Simmons Farm and the Jefferson House, but there's no signs of forgery. As Chief Phelps locks the Armory, the group heads upstairs to the Reception Area. There's a few chairs in front of a desk marked "Reception". There's a few papers on the desk as well. The armory is a sealed room. Perhaps there's a secret entrance to the Town Hall...Would it be wise to check the blueprints to the Town Hall? Julie opens the trash bin, but there's nothing in there, as though it was recently emptied out.
