  1. The trash bin is empty, as though it has been recently emptied. The filing cabinets have the birth and death records of everyone in town, where would you like to go first? Finally, Valerie checks the jail cells. Nothing is out of place. Please be more specific.
  2. Gloria has already looked at the doorway, but Will looks again. There's nothing suspicious or odd there. The townsfolk decide to move from bottom up. They enter the Town Hall, and proceed into the basement. There's a desk for the warden, and six jail cells, three on the right side of the wall, and three on the left side of the wall. Further down is an obviously locked door. There are no prisoners inside the jail cells. Next to the desk is a lamp, a garbage bin, and a file cabinet. Chief Phelps then checks the prisoner records, but finds that nobody was supposed to be in jail. Now that you have access to the jail cells, with a majority vote of 10, you may put someone in jail for a chapter, so long as this is not abused.
  3. Valerie suggests the group work their way down. Farmer Simmons suggests that the group work their way up. The Hospital and the Fire Department are across the street. The lifeguard is getting ready for your date. Gloria looks in the archways of the door, there's nothing there.
  4. Everyone converges on Town Hall. "Let me teach you about the Town Hall. All you'll find on the basement floor are jail cells and the police armory. The first floor is reception, records, and a few offices. The second floor is the squad room and the Town Council Chambers. The third floor is the courtroom and my office. The fourth floor is the smallest, and it's storage, as well as access to the roof." Mayor Bradford explains. The rest of the town is eerily silent, and the townsfolk can't shake the feeling they're being watched as they enter the building. Which floor would you like to go to first?
  5. Nothing else but pieces of wood remain in the water. Phelps gives Harrison ammunition from the suitcase. "I'll have you know," the Congressman starts. "That what I was told was classified by the U.S. Gover-" he stops himself quickly, controlling his anger. It's a brown fedora, from a classy Manhattan store. There's nothing else important or revealing about it.
  6. As you've already visited the lighthouse, that leaves three places. The Jefferson Household The Farm The Town Hall Everyone must pick one location. The lifeguard rushes off to get dressed. "I'm afraid I don't know anything." Investigator Liebenston said. The Congressman just looked off, knowingly. Gloria retrieves the hat for James.
  7. The lifeguard is deeply moved by James' feelings, and tells him to meet her at eight tonight. Ralph looks inside the light, but finds nothing, once again. The lifeguard hands him a towel, and Stevie then opens the letter. It says simply: "Land at Dawn, Move Quickly. Inform VIPs of Situation. Then prep-" The rest of the letter is ripped. Officer Harrison hands the items over to Chief Phelps. Stevie has already read the note. Gloria reads the papers, but they're just copies of the map. Gloria looks at the pistol, using the knowledge of what her father taught her to combat burglars. It again, is used by the U.S. Army. Chief Phelps holds all of the items.
  8. Ralph is alone traveling up the ladder, as everyone is outside of the lighthouse. He reaches the top, and carefully opens the rooftop access. There's nothing up here except for the light. Gloria climbs up the rocks, and opens the suitcase. There's a few papers, a pistol with a silencer on it, and ammo for the rifle.
  9. Stevie grabs a paddle, and jumps from the ledge towards the boat. He misses, and falls in the water, getting wet. He manages to climb into the boat. Using the paddle, he's able to grab the letter and the map. Gloria takes a more direct approach, jumping into the water, and retrieving the suitcase, as her brother had already taken the other items. The Older Valerie jumps into the water as well, grabbing the rifle, the knife, and the crate to keep afloat. Officer Harrison grabs the rifle from Valerie, and helps her into the boat. He determines that it's usable, it's fully loaded, it's a military grade rifle, the type the U.S. Military uses. The only engraving is the Serial Number, 423-431. Officer Harrison hits Officer Fields on the back of the head. He then grabs the knife from Valerie, making her jump into the water somewhat useless.
  10. Officer Fields hops into the Harborside Raft, and slides down the rock wall until he's in the water. Without a paddle, however, he's unable to get to the wreckage. He does, however, succeed in creating waves, which may cause the objects to fall into the water. "My attacker was all in black. He took me to the Alabatha Department Store, and I was joined later by the Mayor, who was escorted into the Department Store in a similar way as me. He then tried tying us up, but then quickly retreated out of the Department Store. Mayor Bradford and I escaped after that. He's somewhere in town, I believe...lurking..." Stevie cannot reach the map either. Ralph rushes into the lighthouse. It's empty, save for a ladder to the roof where the light is. It's recommended that one of the younger people jump into the water to try and save the items.
  11. The map is dry, having been on pieces of wood. It would be smart to take it out of the water before it gets ruined. James can't seem to be able to reach the hat from his position on land. Someone on the water can, though. It is also very dangerous to attempt to go on the rocks and grab the hat. James does, however, manage to grab the life vest. It's from the same store as the toiletries from the hotel room. A small store in Virginia. "I believe I've answered that." the Congressman says. Valerie manages to lift the raft out of the water. It is yellow in color, and has a patch that says "Harborside Boats". Other than that, there's no other distinguishing characteristics. Until someone grabs it from the water, the letter, the knife, the rifle, the map, and the hat aren't able to be used. Stevie could only read the map earlier because it was very familiar.
  12. Gloria doesn't have arms long enough to reach the letter or the suitcase from land. Someone from the water certainly does. "We were abducted by someone." the Congressman says. "We barely managed to escape with our lives."
  13. Everyone is quite aware of the wreckage is that's what you're asking. It's a map of Alabatha with the Jefferson Household, the Farm, the Town Hall, and the lighthouse all circled in red.
  14. You are at the lighthouse.
  15. As the group travels to the lighthouse peak, this sight becomes visible: The rock from the hotel matches the one from the lighthouse. Valerie, Gloria, and the others approach the wreckage from the land, as Dieter, Matt, Chief Phelps, and Officer Harrison inspect it from the water. Pieces of wood float in the water, most likely from a boat which broke up. Next to the wreckage is a washed up raft and life jacket. There's a map resting safely on a few pieces of wood, as well as a rifle, and a knife on another few pieces. A suitcase also lies safely above the water. Finally, there's a letter on a crate. While the boat itself doesn't look familiar, the amount of wood there points that the boat was only ten feet long, and was most likely towing the raft. A noise comes up from behind the people on the lighthouse peak. It's Congressman Bob and Mayor Bradford! Mayor Bradford (Walter Kovacs) may now post again.
  16. "I couldn't tell. He was wearing all black." She blushes again when asked for her phone number. Ralph Jenkins and his dog get behind Inspector Liebenston. "Shall we go?" the lifeguard asks. "Wait a second." Chief Phelps says. "Why are regular townsfolk going, and not the police?" "I don't think we can fit all of us at the lighthouse..." the lifeguard says. "Well, you're going to have too. Let's go everyone." Chief Phelps says. The group departs for the lighthouse, which isn't that far away.
  17. Dr.Lloyd gets behind Inspector Liebenston. "I've always been here, I just work at the lighthouse, watching for swimmers." the lifeguard says. Farmer Simmons gets behind Inspector Liebenston. Gloria Jefferson gets behind Inspector Liebenston. James Falzone gets behind Inspector Liebenston. The lifeguard blushes. "Looks like somethin' crashed against the rocks. There's a lotta items in the wreckage." she says. "I haven't seen the Congressman since he came to town a few days before Election Day, but I saw the Mayor being taken by some guy earlier today." "We're looking for one more person." Matt says.
  18. Chapter Two - Suspicious Seaside As the townsfolk rush to the lighthouse, they're hastily stopped by the Lifeguard, one of the few remaining townsfolk. "There's something mighty suspicious over by the rocks." she reports. "Right, we can't take too many people up to the lighthouse, so I'm looking for five brave volunteers who'd like to go with me." Matt says. The sound of things crashing against the shore is still heard, but it is not as loud. The Lifeguard joins the group as an NPC! There are 18 participants. If you commit to the game you are committing to contributing to the story and sticking with it to the end. I am trusting you all not to drop out halfway through, as that is never any fun. 2. You must search for clues. This means that an action must be specified. For example, you wish to search a room for hidden objects. The following is an example of how not to go about this: "I wish to look for suspicious or hidden objects in this room". Instead, you must be able to specify what you want to do. For example: "I would like to open the drawers of the cabinet." It is not required for you to specify exactly what you are doing and what you are looking for, but a generalized statement will not find you anything. Act like a detective and you will be fine. 3. This game is meant to be fun, so enjoy yourselves! 4. Please be patient with me between chapters, I will try to put up the chapter topics as quickly as possible, but, this might not be so all the time. 5. Please try to avoid editing your posts, as it can lead to suspicion against you. Just consider what you want to say before you say it, and you'll be fine. 6. Please remember that this is the early 1950’s. No iPods, digital cameras, cell phones, printers, computers, fax machines, or otherwise. No events past the current date either, or else people will view you as insane. 7. I won’t keep you in a certain room if you don’t want me too. You’ll always have the option of backtracking or researching the same place. 8. The host is usually always right. If you think I’ve made an error, then please discuss this in the discussion thread or feel free to PM me. 9. Failure to follow these rules will result in a warning. A second failure will result in the death of your character. 10. Remember that although a chapter has ended, that doesn’t mean that the day has concluded, and night actions can be used. 10b. There are also chapter actions. Those of you with chapter actions have the ability to use them at the end of each chapter. 11. No Metagaming please. Also, don’t base suspicions on how the person looks. Rules may be added or deleted as the game goes on based on game play. 12. This is the 1950’s, the middle of the Cold War. You’re under constant worry of potential nuclear Armageddon, so act like it. The Communists are your enemies in this game, don’t forget that. Also, anytime historical facts from the 1950’s are brought in is a big plus.
  19. That's what I thought as well, which is why I started the game on Friday in the evening, rather than starting earlier. I figured that most people would be home/returning home on Friday, when the game started. Chapter Two should be up in about an hour, due to the speedy delivery of Chapter Actions.
  20. ATTENTION ALL PLAYERS! Night has not yet begun! This is just then end of the chapter, not the end of the day! I will let you know when the night begins, and you can use your night actions. Until then, only those with Chapter Actions may use them.
  21. Dr.Lloyd picks up the note from the cabinet. "Ted- This is the last note I've written, as I'm writing this as I'm leaving. That...guy on the second floor he knows things, he knows lots of things. He said to be wary, because the commies have implanted themselves into our society. I know you're coming in tomorrow, and I'm giving you a warning. -Frank" Dr.Lloyd takes out the box, and searches it. It's empty. He then goes down the ladder, and looks around. There's nothing suspicious around, except for the crashing noise. The group listens to Ralph, and departs for lighthouse. End Chapter One, if someone would lock this topic, it would be greatly approved. All those with Chapter Actions, please send them in.
  22. Officer Fields taps the rock (?), and then returns upstairs. Chief Phelps takes the radio. Upon tuning it to the same station, he hears static. It appears that this station is no longer broadcasting. Valerie looks under the rug. There's nothing there. Valerie then checks in the drawers to find a note. Finally, Valerie checks under the bed to find a box.
  23. The lighthouse is at the edge of town, at the end of the beach. Ralph and Officer Harrison start walking towards the lighthouse, but are stopped by the rest of the group. "I don't think we're finished here." someone says. You will need a majority approval before you leave for the lighthouse.
  24. Brave Officer Fields climbs down the unstable ladder, and jumps from the awning to the street. He then picks up the rock and examines it. Rushing down the stairs, Farmer Simmons reaches the bottom a few seconds after Officer Fields, and inspects the rock. It's a medium sized rock, with no distinguishing characteristics. There's nothing particularly special about it. The sound of crashing objects continues nearby the lighthouse...
  25. There is no blood on the street. Also, there is no blood on the glass. There are four windows in the room, one of them has the glass broken. It is possible to climb out of the window. Looking out of the window, there is a ladder and a rock lying in the street. It appears whoever snuck out used a ladder to climb out of the Cafe Corner. There is a the sound of crashing objects nearby the lighthouse...
