  1. Iron Man has such distinct armour in the film's but these minifigs all look the same...
  2. It's Lego being cheap. Look at the effort they make in their own properties, where they have to fight for attention.
  3. What's with all the basic minifig designs? Winter Soldier is clearly a step down from the polybag too...
  4. I think the comments have provided a consensus - we're not impressed. It's not really good enough for Lego to just repackage old sets. The price means only serious collectors will be after this set...and there won't be many of us that don't already have a lot of these parts. I'm also left a bit miffed about the figures - there needs to be some obvious 'uplift' in these premium sets. We now have figures in cheap sets with more printing than the ones in the expensive sets!
  5. Hey! Stop going off topic or I'll snitch on you to the mods! ;) Ashoka dressed like a teen prostitute, had infuriating catch phrases and was the ultimate Mary Sue...and that's when I stopped watching the Clone Wars show and any other Star Wars media that I feared she might appear in. I'll be in dire straights if she's ever set to appear in Episode 8 or 9... On topic... Where in the blazes is Echo Base? I can't recall another set - from any line - that's been 'confirmed' for so long without being seen, it's been 12 months surely?
  6. Anyone else irked that Lego is phoning in some of these new figures? Look at the new Ecto-1, those figures represent so much time and attention on the part of the designer...and here we get pyjama Spider-Man for the 20th time and figures that don't even get leg printing. Far too few - if any - of these figures have that 'knocked out of the park' quality that the silver centurion (for instance) have. Complacency is always a risk when, as a business, you start making the profits that Lego are.
  7. Such an amazing set - that's D2C quality there. Lego have thrown everything at this - from the playability, extras, detailed figures - very pleasing
  8. Some odd design choices in that bridge set - we run the guantlet from ultra detailed (Goblin) to minimalist (well, the rest really...) - it's as if multiple designers were fighting for creative control...
  9. ....and suddenly I can see myself buying some of those sets and adding in proper legs... The majority of the new DC figures are superb and a couple (Katanna, Deadshot, Scarecrow) are sublime. Can't see myself not acquiring all of these sets at some point...
  10. Oh indeed, it's phenomenal - we even get the dual moulded arms! This should be the standard for all figures - but instead we're getting figures in the coming weeks that have no more printing than a figure from the early 90's. Progress, Lego. Actually, he did have that printing :)
  11. The printing on the silver centurion? That. That's what I expect on more figures, factoring prices, it's the least we should expect
  12. Damn, Brickset totally overhyped these mediocre sets
  13. Lego have given us a cannibal (Lone Ranger wave), character streaked in blood (twice, Star Wars) and a 'burn the character alive' play feature (Star Wars again)... ...so kindly hush up with your daft understanding of political correctness
  14. Aww, was hoping the Turbo Tank would improve on the wheel assembly, it's not very accurate. Reissues are starting to get a bit lazy. As we saw with the Falcon, it's a bit too easy to take the last version, add in the new firing bricks and reissue the set again...
  15. Surely you could make your own? Lego is only going to slap an existing hair, head and torso piece on to some plain black legs and give him some kind of walkie-talkie gun. When was the last time a 'suit' character wasn't astonishingly generic *cough* Lex *cough*?
  16. Enough with rants about prices! Either you can or you can't afford the set - but that's your issue. No one else cares, we're not buying it for you! Anyway, ever noticed that with leaked pictures the quality is always so poor? Isn't that strange in an era where we all carry hi-tech cameras with us 24/7? Isn't it always convenient that these pictures are bad enough to scupper attempts by Chinese crooks to release knockoffs - but not so bad that we can't get a pretty good idea of the set? There's a game being played here.
  17. Wow, that would be an awesome feature, I can't wait to find out if it's in place
  18. Indeed it does, I am well chuffed the summer wave has some larger sets - something to sink my teeth in and something to display. There's really only so much interest one can show in a speeder bike from the Rebels tv show virtually no one even knows exists...
  19. Crud, a steampunk AT-TE. I'd like a proper one, not some gimmick...
  20. Shame the figures don't have the same level of printing the characters in the show have - especially when that level of detail is regularly included in the collectible minifigs series
  21. When I first saw the pictures for the Red Skull's submarine and Avengers jet I thought they looked awful - but having built them both I'm absolutely delighted and strongly recommend both. Usually these sets are all about the figures but here we get sets that are worth owning too, well done Lego...if only I hadn't seen the dire Civil War sets I'd have said the Superheroes line was really showing some maturity with quality sets and not just cash grabs...
  22. Wolverine-style claw parts would surely have worked. If nothing else, it would add some interest to a character design that Lego have otherwise given little attention too.
  23. Doesn't look like printed legs on the majority of the figures - I just can't fathom why. When every Chima and Nexo Knights figure has it I'm left baffled why beloved characters like Black Panther get less love.
  24. Sometimes, just sometimes you can just accept what Lucasfilm, the film and about 60 tie in books say...just saying
  25. Don't care for the micros myself...but kids will love them and their wacky races gimmick. Have to give credit for a good idea.
