  1. 1000 - 1300 bricks should transalte to about £70-£79.99 if we go according to last years prices The economy hasnt changed THAT much for Lego...and if it has, surely it pushing prices DOWN (i.e oil prices down, consumer spending down etc) I am just stunned by this price - i think the Venator is very average, but i'd pay £79.99 for it - I've got the money....but i just feel like i'm being cheated out of £97, esp when the Space Police sets are so much more reasonable in price...
  2. how come none of u r outraged by the Venator's £97 price tag? I usually just shut up about prices but - this is clearly...wrong How can it be £20 more than the gunship (oh wait - the gunship's price has gone up too!) Do u think it might be a pricing error as with the Death Star?
  3. Magic ..or MAYBE, because Lego publishes sales from its website Deal with it Some of us are adults (the rules do say that u need to be too...) - that means we can afford Lego (which is CHEAP, try a mortgage if you want to know what expensive is) Some of us dont give a damn about the price. Its a hobby - a dozen sets a year barely dents $1000 dollars. So its cheaper to buy AT-TE's? What kind of argument is that? If cost is the determining factor then dont waste money on a childrens toy!! I'm not intrested in the number of bricks i get or the exact number of mini figs it comes with - just whether I like the set
  4. We get 1700 bricks for the AT-OP and Dropship why couldnt we have got a PROPER Venator? The AT-OP has been one of Lego's biggest sellers - there is a market for big sets This Venator seems like a budget version that satisfies no one Make it huge and if it costs £200 - so be it, dont give a monkees about the cost - only what i'm getting for it Atleast give us a Venator in proportion! Imagine what it would look like done right....
  5. Why does Palptine's office have a hole in the floor? I presume some kind of star trek style oribital skydive is planned for the clones
  6. Those Senate Commandos are stunning - its no joke to say i'm getting the Venator primarily for them - and then its off to bricklink to make a legion of them! The helmet looks superb - should be able to moc a Senate Guard from this chappie
  7. I think people are bang on - the Palptine arrest set has just been rolled into the Venator design ...an office for the chancellor is not something i'd have come up with for this set....an...odd choice
  8. Its difficult to come up with anything more than 'meh' when describing this Its better than the poorly designed ROTS version - but its not the set we deserve Compare this with the AAT...
  9. Ouch! I liked the look of this set from the box art - but i can see now, this is pretty poor stuff You've saved me quite a bit of money sir!
  10. i like the new AT-ST - but this set is not particularily inspired ..all told, there isnt much of it...
  11. One of the best sets I've ever seen - love the design, love the figs (5!) ...shame about the price, but I could say the same for any lego set I will deff get this...maybe two....
  12. C'mon, use your eyes 4504 is clearly better, its the difference between the set a kid might make and the set a world class builder would make
  13. Its 4 minifigs and conceivable £20 price tag are the attractions for me Its not the set I had hoped it would be - we did need a new Corporate alliance tank but this one seems rather bland
  14. All the yellows have been purged from my Star Wars collection I have no trouble with fleshies and clone wars fleshies mixed together - but fleshies and yellow - no! Personally, with the exception of the awful Anakain CW fig, I find CW figs go perfectly with standard SW figs - always though regular SW faces were a bit bland, I prefer the CW look - more distinctive
  15. Oh my - if i love a set....for some reason one isnt enough My 5 AAT's and far, far too many AT-AT's are proof of that
  16. The worst Star Wars set ever made I could build something better It baffles me that people can defend it 'its one of the early sets the designers were still learning to build...' Absurd - this was a set built in a single sitting, part of an entire line rushed out to cash in on Ep 1. Look at the old MTT and the new one - one was built by a pro, the other was not As we can see from the new Republic Dropship set - Lego is more intrested in quality these days (and vast margins!)
  17. The dropship is so big - i dont have anywhere to put it on display! Really growing on me this set - esp the dropship, the designers have spent most of their time here and its a very strong design
  18. Yey got mine! I'd always dreamed about getting an AT OP and a dropship for the AT TE - to bundle them to together is just - wow Not quite as amazing a set as i'd initially thought though - getting it attached to the AT-TE is very annoying and does require a mod to the AT TE (though its the removal of a part of the handle) Its still a dream come true to have these sets in Lego form!
  19. Very impresive sets An excellent first wave Love 5973 - two excellent models, great playability and figs. Nice to have a ready made play set not reduced to a hero vessel and some after though bad guy craft The bad guys hot rod is such a great look, not sure how they came up with the idea - but well done! Like 5974 - needs some trans blue at the back to balance it out, might have to mod that
  20. God damnit I knew March was too good to be true
  21. All superb ideas - done to a proper size they would be mouth wateringly good! What I really want is the Outrider and/or Otana....they would rock
  22. Eh? I said there was ''fairly limited scope'' There is some scope - but its limited. They grew up in the same building, ate the same food, socialised with the same people, had the same training - obviously they will vary but realistically - by how much? ...and to the person that said clones took 10 years to make... ...evidently they dont, because the Clone Wars lasts just 3 years and they are evidently pretty good at replacing them!
  23. I got the money and time for lego - but not the room! I can buy sets that I can no longer display - damnit!
  24. Agree 100% with the thread starter Thre are so many daft little sub groups and then sub groups within sub groups one wonders if there is actually a singular 'Clone Army' at all! exactly - the Clone Wars series really wnds me up for the way each Clone is treated as an individual as opposed to cannon fodder Episodes where they risk life and limb to rescue Clones just strikes me as madness (and frankly, poor writing) Each clone has the same genetics, training and experience - there should be fairly limited scope for any individualistic differences - hell, most clones are only a matter of months old!!!!
  25. I actually prefer the gunship without the pods The pods always looked a bit odd with those strange beam laser things
