  1. The clone wars y wing has flick fire missiles? Have I just missed that feature? Maybe I'm not paying enough attention to my sets... Dissapoitment wise - how about no printed legs? Every other theme has them - it adds so much character to a minifig, stormtroopers with printed legs just look sooo much better
  2. The jan wave seems a bit weak - summer wave is much stronger, I imagine I'll get all the summer sets bar Koon's fighter (it's third release, I'll bricklink that droid) all the sets look good, they don't blow me away but the minifigs do - we just get better and better minifigs all the time, every set these days comes with key characters Turbo tanks wheels are too thin, sure hope it has those concealed missiles on the sides. Wonder if the second clone shown was a mistake? I'd love the tank and shuttle to come with more troops but got about 400 here I can use so I suppose it's an irrelevance...
  3. Had the designers even seen episode 1 when they cobbled this mess together?! 3 cockpits? Did they just guess at the design?
  4. Need's Modding I fear (and don't like doing that) - good few bits are undeveloped. Gun deck would be empty without those cannons and the brig is just a door. It's twice the bricks of the BSB, but not sure where those extra 800 bricks went though? Some proper rigging wouldn't have hurt It's certainly a good 'canvas' to start work on though
  5. We're getting another Snowspeeder?! Will we finally get an accurate one? Why do we get so many snowspeeders and yet its been 5 years since the last minifig Falcon and 10 years since the last Padame!!
  6. This thing can easily be modded to 14 guns, check the gaps between the guns where the crates go. Arch brick fits nicely, add the gun port flap and sorted! I just can't mod sets I buy - so I'll need to get a second one, thus preserving the first ones purity, OCD FTW!
  7. Just saw this I almost fainted I have dreamed of an Imperial ship worthy of the name for 20 years, something that can go up against the huge pirate vessels... ...and its finally been done, after all these years of waiting It has an interior too I'm hoping to get two and customise the second - the 2010 SW sets are so poor I have freed up plenty of funds by not going after them Only gripe - midships is a bit bland, take out the cannons and its all but empty. I'll need to think of something to put there - and naturally i'll need more cannons
  8. I love the figs - Lego makes more and more intresting figs all the time, just wish we could get more and faster - so many more we need! Looks like Bricklink for the figures - cos I cant see myself buying many, if any, of the sets Space to display these things has forced me to be more demanding of sets I buy TIE Defender looks awful - like the Interceptor, and the one TIE that actually is blue they got wrong! Freco speeder has me asking - why? Not really anything to do with this set. Same goes for the Tri Fighter - its barely changed, and I have 23 rocket droids anyway, they dont need a commander, they can get shoot to bits all by themselves! I'll get the ARC because....well, I need I set in January, I do love building sets after all!
  9. Printed legs are par for the course in other new themes - Power Miners, Agents, Atalantis ...but not Star Wars where its reserved for a handful of sets Why? The licence? - why would the licence prevent printed legs? Cost? - why would it cost more to print a stormtroopers legs? Thoughts?
  10. amazing mini figs - just wow Fair few of them will make new Jedi for the Star Wars theme...
  11. oh so easy - sets i will kill for 1. Outrider w/Dash - with a proper interior 2. Otana 3. Millenium Falcon - Endor version with Lando and Niem Numb
  12. I am always intrested by those who express fondness for the early Star Wars sets 1999-2003 I look at them and I see sets build by the lego designers kids - not professionals. Most look nothing like the vehicle they should be (Gungan sub?) and the colours are ludicrous (AAT with a fancy BLUE theme?) I've always thought this was deliberately aiming at 8 year olds with a new <insert that tiresome argument> ''basic'' theme - quick to design, cheap to produce and for an undemanding market From 2004 onwards we start to see the designers get involved but its 2005 untill we have professional sets Just look at the difference between the original and reissued sets - Falcon, Sith Infiltrator, MTT - the originals were not designed by a lover of Lego So anything before 2004 should stay in the past - and as i have every good set anyway i dont need any theme restored... ...but to play along - 2006 had some lovely sets with some real care and attention shown, and i wouldnt mind getting another copy of a few of those sets
  13. The Tri Fighter is almost identical to the last one... ...but atleast the battlepack has a proper speederbike - battlepacks have always had some crappy mini vehicle, glad they have done it properly
  14. Someone said the original MTT? The number one set is obvioulsy the Death Star - anyone that owns it has to agree
  15. A Trade Federation Control Ship would be incredible - it wouldnt be cheap if done right - 2000-3000 bricks would be required Has such an awesome design - would love to see it done (but not if its done on the cheap)
  16. So sick of these kids who's pocket money cant cover this set and so cry about it Its a great set - just because your too cheap dont sour the the mood for the rest of us Its got a fairly token interior but its UCS quality from the outside - its a great display piece They have learnt from the Republic Cruiser which was good but not awesome Its an impresive size and has good minifigs - sure they could have included more, but there isnt room for them to fit inside All told,
  17. Wouldnt take the landspeeder if you gave it to me - not a single new fig, just dull - if i get another C3PO i will scream! TIE Defender looks incredible - just massive (is that a new fig I see?) Odd that Lego always makes TIE's blue...yet the one TIE that is blue is done in grey (i prefer grey) Overall, nothing to really get too excited about - but better than last January's releases
  18. Dropship and AT-OP None of us ever expected it to be made but i think we all had dreamed about it - carrying our AT-TE armies into battle The 2 sets in 1 idea was new and it really felt like a reward from TLC - this was a set for us
  19. How can the Mon Calamari star cruiser be £88 but the Tantive 4 is £97 - when one has twice the bricks? I am convinced pricing is now done at random
  20. Crystal Crawler (made with 8961 + 8959) is the set of the line Great look which reminds me of the Thundertank Superb idea too this whole combining sets thing - gets people buying sets they normally wont or two copies of those sets to have both models
  21. Gotta saw a TIE Defender gets my blood pumping Vaders Tie Advanced was (finally) a correct looking TIE - so maybe the days of the dreadful version we've been fed so far are over ...Lego can do it in blue and it wont matter... ...knowing them they'll do it in red
  22. Senate Commando - despite them being about £15-£20 each managed about £200 quids worth. Love em
  23. Love the coffee maker! ...some of these power miners sets cost more per brick than even the Star Wars sets This is getting very odd...
  24. this set is an april fools joke Lego has released it to test buyers 'limits'....
  25. dreadful set - looks nothing like the actual thing ..and the bizarre colour scheme! New AT-TE still isnt quite...right...but its a hundred times better than this, 4482 is almost as bad as the original MTT Early SW Lego was our friends at Lego trying to cut costs everywhere - this thing is rushed and, frankly, tacky
