Its here! I have the Death Star. Arrived in the post today from Lego The box is vast! ...and this thing weighs a ton! The greatest lego set ever released hands down! ..why did i pay for the fast shipping - cant build it till the weekend anyway, d'oh!!!

Lack of Original Trilogy Sets this year.
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Millacol88's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Lol - people are getting the Death Star (the frikin Death Star!) and they complain about not getting enough OT sets?!? The Death Star is more bricks than an entire new line of OT sets!!! 20 odd minifigs, amazing design, tons of playability - the Death Star is the equivelent of about 10 sets! -
wish i'd ordered two - at the original price I could have taken 1 to ebay and made a cool £40-50 quid profit selling em off for £250....
-
Grey and black...really? and $40 would make the set £50 in the UK - thats $110 - see my point?
-
11 - they are so much better than the old style phase 1 clones
-
Darth Vader's TIE has too much black what the hell is wrong with Lego? First it was blue, now black Why cant we get it in the same colours as the film?? Worried about the droid bomber - that needs stickers! ...and 6 minifigs for the AAT, how much will this cost?! - i cant imagine the brick count will justify it
-
Any one ever thought of doing this? Milleniun MOD'ing
TheBrickHitHouse replied to lfadn's topic in LEGO Star Wars
remarkable, just remarkable - and despite all its modding it looks indistinguishable from the normal thing from the outside? Just amazing -
I got the same email, even though i ordered at the lower price I suspect its just a automatic email to everyone - after all we have the recipt, they cant change the price now
-
Exactly - and all we got was a crappy door!
-
Dubious $60 for Tantive 4 - unlikely, for $60 we wouldn't get the escape pod!

AT-TE Comparison - 4482 vs. 7675.
TheBrickHitHouse replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I briefly owned both old and new AT -TE's ...then sold the old AT TE to buy another of the new AT TE's Ah good bless disposable income! The new one is a vast improvment I still have a few issues about the film accuracy of the new one, even so its far more accurate, sturdier and a more professional construction Not to mention bluish grey looks so much better than the old AT-TE colours -
I'm amazed there is so little in this thread - so little said about the 08 MM sets They are incredible - and anyone that owns them will know
-
The open top walker from Ep 3 would be a welcome addition - would 10 Clone Troopers be unreasonable? I'd love an L/AAT capable of carrying an AT TE.... ...so much they could do, I'd kill for the design skills the lego designers posses....not to mention the bricks to build in the first place...

They have just about done all the vehicles so I'd like to see locations I've always wanted the Jedi Council - a really detailled room showing off the designers skills featuring all 12 Jedi Masters - through in Anakin and Palpatine and you'd be sorted I'd also love the bridge of the Executor - pack it full of Imperial Officers, have Vader's meditation chamber adjacent If they were to do it they couldn't skimp on the bricks - I dont want a Hoth base style set, each set would need several thousand bricks - but with UCS and new Death Star there is clearly a market for larger sets for the serious collector with money to spend ...and dont forget about the expanded universe - I'd die for an Outrider, that could be sensational. Why not the Otana as well from the X Wing game Great designs - so difficult to customise yourself

Yes, my Cody is missing some of the markings on his helmet

Quiet you 2008 has seen the best Lego sets ever released - its absurd how many great sets there has been this year. Batman, Mars Mission, Clone Wars, City - how many great sets do you need in a year? The developers have produced art - not toys ..and no printed pieces? Your too lazy / indept to apply half a dozen stickers? And no printed pieces means we can use the parts for our own creations and prices? Lego has been absurdly priced for decades - some of us that actually meet this site's 18+ age limit will remember sets being expensive for decades If you cant afford a a $100 toy - then you shouldnt be buying toys anyway! For your wage demographic they have frizbees On topic - of course the licence will be renewed if there is a new series film/ to make sets from They have three more years - that really should cover 100% of the remaining sets from all 7 films, and give them some scope for revamps too
-
As a rule I buy every Lego Star Wars set that comes out (unless its unbelievably sub bar - i.e Hoth Base) None of those sets look any good to be honest.... Very kiddy and <insert that tiresome argument> ..which is odd as I would say 2008 was the best year for Lego ever - and the Death Star hasnt even been released yet! Looks like Lego got complacent again - the pirate sets arent much better
-
I'm desperate for a new AAT ...the rest hardly blows me away Now i prefer sets based on the prequals (more intresting designs), but - some of these sets seem to be REALLY scrapping the barrel Doesnt seem to be many 'big' sets either ..and an Endor set will be another lazy Hoth base set: door + AT ST....not much to cheer about
-
Lego will renew the licence - they are playing hard to get to get a better renewal price ''oh we cant afford to renew....unles......''
-
He doesnt fit in there If you use your head its fairly obvious....
-
Vert film accurate - I bought it the day it came out Its not a bad set, the interior has so many modding opps....if you can actually get to the interior.....
-
Congrats, u got a tacky door and a new protocol droid u could have just swiped off ebay... Try not to have to much fun with the sets so many features
-
The throne room scene comes with cuffs and the Emperor's force lightning - thats a ridiculous level of detail God bless Lego ..and hurrah for the fact I ordered this set at the reduced (i.e American) price
-
No, you know full well that doesnt explain that level of difference Once again £274 for 3000 bricks £199 for 6000 I could well believe the price difference if the number of bricks was the same Lucasfilm are only going to have a cut to a max of 30%
-
Will someone explain to me why the Taj Mahal Lego set with 6000 bricks is £74 ($150) CHEAPER than the Death Star with 3000 bricks? Its times like this that make me so angry with Lego - no wonder they are struggling, total rip off merchants They charge any old price with no relation to actual cost
