[M4-25 - Rebellion] When the trees start speaking Rebel
Artizan replied to Artizan's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Thanks MKJoshA! I really appreciate the kind words about the ship. As for the terrain, I know it might seem a bit bare, but that was a deliberate choice. I was aiming for a Vietnam-style deployment zone vibe: rough, and a bit chaotic. I also wanted it to have that unexplored RTS game feel, like the start of a mission where the map’s still mostly hidden beyond the fog of war. It’s meant to support the mood without pulling focus from the landing scene. -
[MOC] Imperial Landing Craft (Sentinel-class Shuttle)
Artizan replied to Artizan's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Thanks, yeah it is pretty underrepresented ship both in Lego form or any other form in the Star Wars universe lately. I will leave designing a UCS version to someone else, this was quite challenging for me honestly. Thanks for noticing the small details and some challenging techniques I came up with! Speaking of the cockpit design, I think Lego attempted the Sentinel cockpit design by lazily slapping a wedge plate on an otherwise Lambda cockpit. For comparison: -
I decided to share the Imperial landing craft ship design seperately which I originally created for this year's May 4th contest entry. Hope you enjoy! I used the EU/Legends version(s) as my reference.

The curvature of the platform is perfectly shaped! Also the idea of a roofless floating tibanna platform turning into a bar is great.

The embedding doesn't work anymore, if you just simply copy and paste the url that would work. -
[M4-25 - Rebellion] When the trees start speaking Rebel
Artizan replied to Artizan's topic in Watto's Junkyard
Thanks a lot! I totally get what you mean, the Rebels version looks closer to the one we see in ANH Special Edition, however, I grew up with playing all the Star Wars RTS games, Force Commander, Empire at War so I have been always fascinated with how the shuttle looked in those games. Even then, there were inconsistencies of the look of the ship. I’m really glad you liked the cockpit! That was probably the trickiest part to get right. As for the war crime part, I don't want to drag this topic further. As I said I took inspiration from the Vietnam war mainly. Perhaps we can simply consider it as a nod to the "war crimes" we have seen committed in the Clone Wars , Rebels, Rogue One and Andor. -
My entry for the Rebellion category:

Thank you so much for the kind words, I really appreciate you taking the time to share such detailed feedback! You bring up a very valid point about the Rebel Alliance’s moral stance. I absolutely agree that, as an organization, they would strongly oppose and condemn actions that cross ethical lines. That said, warcrimes happen in any large-scale conflict, both in real life and in Star Wars. These guys could be former partisans who left Scariff, or individuals driven more by vengeance and personal loss than by the Alliance’s ideals. I think it’s important to explore these uncomfortable edges of the Star Wars universe from time to time, not to glorify them, but to remind us of the cost of war and the fragility of moral high ground in desperate times. Edit: Also, we haven't seen Rebels commit the particular warcrime so maybe all assumptions are wrong and they will just take the wounded as prisoners -
After the destruction of Death Star, Empire soon began deploying ground forces on Yavin 4 to capture the Rebel base. Even though the majority of the Rebel leadership and fighters were able to evacuate, small bands of Rebel commandos stayed behind to delay the Imperial forces as much as possible. They often ambushed Imperial landing zones to lower Imperial morale and inflict maximum damage. Note: My diorama is inspired by George Lucas comparing Star Wars to Vietnam War, where USA represents the technologically advantageous Empire and Rebels are the anti-colonial guerrillas. This was also the perfect opportunity to create a scene with the Imperial landing craft/Sentinel class shuttle. Rebels about to commit war crimes:

I see some very unique and great techniques used around, great shaping on the wings. I also noticed that you placed my old Nar Eurbrikka character -
[MOC] "Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?"

Thanks people! No need for reverse engineering, I can take a pic of the disassembled chair:) The empty seat is slightly different than the ones Anakin and Palpatine are sitting on. -

Thanks guys! The "jellyfish stuff" are actually Mon Calamari ballet dancers of the Squid Lake opera :) -
No Rots category?

Great midi-scale mocs with very interesting part usages, the castle helmets for n-1 is ingenious. The shaping of the snowspeeder is also perfect. That said, the non-lego cockpit kinda bothers me, perhaps you can use this technique here for the cockpits? https://www.flickr.com/photos/inthert/54240054821/in/feed-143187022-1735754234-1-72157721747857142

Yeah the print is very similar to regular Vader head, which is based off Shaw, but less evil and no scars:

Ghost Anakin(Sebastian Shaw), Yoda and Obi-wan Kenobi from the ending of Return of the Jedi. I never liked Sebastian Shaw replaced by young Hayden Christensen in the Blue-ray version, with the release of Jedi Vader from Dark Falcon, now it is possible to have official Sebastian Shaw Anakin version:

One of the best mocs I have seen lately. Every detail seems to be thought given.

Overall great entries, my favourite is the monastry. The little details on the snowfighter such as the white helmet and tooth piece on the shield are nice touches. Good luck!
