Oh wow, a really fantastic entry, the water under the bridge and the stars all lit up being the highlights of this build! Definitely an interesting approach to the space limitations, and works perfectly, great job on this

EB Xmas Raffle 2016 - Your ideal Snow entry thread
Legofin2012 replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
Any day now, can't wait to find out ! Also can't rem if I thanked CopMike, but anyway a huge thank you to him for setting it all up! -
Thank you, the focus for CCC might have been the figures, but I also wanted a nice place to display them Thank you very much, glad people like the base design Thanks, and I know, had it not strayed too close to civilisation this would not have been necessary... (although I do plan on making the rest of the beast one day ) Thank you Thanks, bleak northern landscapes are pretty fun to build, but for Challenge V I'm hoping to venture further into the different landscape of Historica (except for the first one, that's another Mitgardian landscape) Thank you, the path was needed to break up the snow a bit, and that's what I was going for with the figure, a true northerner almost viking-y Thanks, the trees are simple but look good to add a bit of colour, I was lucky to get lots of the cheese slopes from a pick-a-brick wall along with the travis bricks @Muakhah it wouldnt let me quote you like with the others, but thank you just as much nevertheless

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Legofin2012 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Quite a few nice builds and a cool looking WIP from Mitgardia the past few weeks! A sort of intro/prelude to my first Challenge V builds, The Northern Huntsman: -
Many creatures roam the North, most posing no threat unless you are unfortunate enough to wander into their territory. But sometimes these creatures roam too close to civilization, and when that happens, they become the unfortunate ones. Northern Huntsman usually hunt in small groups, protecting small remote villages from possible predators, but a mere dire-wolf can be dealt with by a lone Huntsman if needed to. And just the figs and wolf head: So first off apologies for not being particularly active in the last month or so, mostly life got in the way, but I'm trying to make more time for lego-related stuff, especially for Challenge V with hopefully a 2 part story build And also this is a build from 2 months ago, for CCCXIV, but for my Challenge V builds and story, my "new" sig-fig is going to be present so I thought it best to introduce him a bit first. But of course without giving any spoilers for my character story ( Pt.1, Pt.2, Pt.3 and Pt.4 ), which I'm hoping to continue some time soon. -Thanks for looking!

Thank you, I didn't want it o be too square as some of my older builds had been, so "unusual" shapes were an aim for this build Thanks!
-
Thank you, well I got a bit of money for Christmas, so I'll be placing a rather large BL order sometime soon, plenty of foliage and new parts Thanks, yeah I'll be sure to add all my new foliage to future trees! And photography is an area in still trying to improve, thanks for the tip! Thank you, speaking of the photo something seems to have gone wrong with the first one I'll have to re-paste the BBCode when I get to a computer

Well I personally think the colours are wonderful, almost gives a surrealistic feel with the bright red. The shaping of the little roofs above the windows are very nicely done, and I always love a good build with a nice interior, and yours never disappoint! Although now I think of it, maybe light grey rocks would of been nice? Either way, a truly wonderful build!

I always enjoy your landscape, even just flat ground like this still looks very nice. The two different stands are both wonderfully done, with bright colours! I like the idea too, I feel like coming up with an original idea is a big part of contest like CCC, and this one is nicely done, and well executed

Wonderful vessel! The shaping is very nicely done, and I just love those sails

Book II Challenge V Prelude: Alguroran
Legofin2012 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love the way the stories are all coming together, the challenges are going to be really interesting! Not to mention the wonderful build, the use of grey rocks works nicely with the dark grey castle, the build almost feels cold, fantastic work! -

EB Xmas Raffle 2016 - Your ideal Snow entry thread
Legofin2012 replied to CopMike's topic in LEGO Town
I actually won Third time lucky, huge thanks to Copmike for setting this all up once again! -
Thank you, I did try to curve the trees over, but they wouldn't stay, and after Christmas I'm planning on making a Bricklink order, so foliage is definitely on the to buy list hm, yeah, 1x2 would probably work, I used snot for this waterfall whereas the last one was studs up, I'll just have to find the perfect balance, and thanks again! The outpost was set up many many years ago, the elves have always been weary of the Rangers, but no trouble has been caused as of today. But the elves most certainly keep a close eye on the outpost though Thank you, well like I said the last one was built from the bottom up, and this was was built on a plate and layered up with trans-clear pieces, but I'll continue to try and improve
-
Wow fantastic posters, the builds and colours have been perfectly chosen Logo looks great too, wonder how they'll be given out. Definitely looking forward to the 5 year anniversary challenges! Is the logo free to use (in the corner of photos, on in signatures)?

When you check the calendar and get all excited cause you see the first 5 letters of your name, then realise the last letters aren't the same and it's someone completely different congrats to everyone so far though, the prizes are looking extremely promising! -
Thank you, I don't often build interiors, generally due to lack of bricks, so I was pleased to be able to include one here Thanks, the trees were particularly difficult for some reason, and admittedly I'm not really happy with the smaller ones either Thank you, I was hoping to improve the waterfall from my last build, so glad it worked out. And I wanted to make it particularly Avalonian, so lush vegetation was a requirement
-
Very nice, the wall looks really old and crumbly, and the well is nicely done too. The arrow signs are a nice touch as well, just not sure about the tree on the wall, or maybe it's just rather tall behind the wall

Very nice build, I always enjoy builds which evolve through the seasons, and the colors here are beautiful! The field of olive green plants by the water is wonderful too The only minor thing i would change would maybe cover up the pin holes on the base plates used under the house somehow? But great build nevertheless

My latest freebuild, and my first time building in Avalonia M.I.S. Avalonian Outpost: -
Deep in Avalonian forest, the M.I.S. keeps eye on potential threats. Although remaining peaceful for many years, the Black Spire uprising in Nocturnus is a major concern, so men everywhere could serve it's purpose. The location of the outpost on a small cliff keeps the lower section hidden and the wooden lookout is built to blend in with the dense forest. Rangers train in their spare time The rocks provide a cool storage place for reserves and of course, Mitgardian ale Originally built for CCCXIV, but hoping to enter into AoM too, but as a later phase. -Thanks for looking :) They are watching
-
Thank you, glad it turned out alright Thanks, I wasn't sure if the sled was almost too "cartoonish" Thank you, well I'll be using the taun taun in future build, seems like a perfect Mitgardian creature Thanks, the bag and sword were last minute additions cause it looked a bit bare
-
Thank you, I did spend quite a while on the rocks, glad you like them, still just kinda disappointed how the photos turned out Thanks, contrary to the rocks, the tower was built first, something I've been wanting to try for a while
-
I see what you meant when you said about the stone and wood walls on my build But really apart from building wood and stone they're quite different. This build is fantastic! The tower looks great, but the landscape steals the show, the unusual cliff/mountain side is incredible, very nice snow and rock work. The tree on the edge is a nice touch too, great build!
