**Book II Challenge V Official Announcment**
Legofin2012 replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Just a quick question before finalising my storyboard for Cat C, but do we need to end on a definitive note? As in giving a clear victor, or can we say leave historica in war? -
[Mid-River] Northern Clan Homestead
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, glad you like it Thanks, the house I took inspiration from for this was all wood, but that didn't seem very wise with all the snow and possible damp for this build, so stone foundation seemed like a good idea for realism Thanks, the covered area is what really made me want to build this Thank you, maybe a different coloured door would have worked, although I wouldn't of had the parts necessary in the colors you suggested And yes, worry not, future Mid-River builds do have steeper roofs planned When I was researching for Norse/viking architecture, I found this nice little house (what I assume was a reconstruction), and it had a roof like this, and I just thought it would be nice to try in a build Thank you, I feel like that may mostly be due to me getting carried away with the snow on the ground, as I didn't intend to have as much snow when I built the roof But hopefully I won't disappoint for future builds -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Legofin2012 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
The start of a new Northern village/town, Mid-River: Northern Clan Homestead Also for AoM, house Phase I And on another side note, does anyone else have a really long story planned out for Cat C? -
Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)
Legofin2012 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
Getting back to the AoM builds Town, House Phase I: Northern Clan Homestead Also this challenge will (hopefully) continue after Book II, right? -
AoM, Town: House Phase I A traditional Northern home, found far north in the Wolf Clan lands, here in the ever growing village of Mid-River under leadership of Clan leader Finn. The children get used to the icy cold from a young age, until they are ready to become men and true clan members. While fairly uninspired for Cat B of Challenge V (but nearly a full story-board for Cat C ), I thought why not go back to building for AoM again, as there's still plenty to build, and also a good opportunity to start building for a new village/town. I'll give more information later on but I'm hoping to locate it at the base of the mountain in the North Wolf Clan territory, between the two rivers flowing from the mountain (hence the "imaginative" name, Mid-River ), with a traditional Northern, viking-esk, architecture style. - Thanks for looking

Book 2 Challenge V Cat B: The Trojan Camel
Legofin2012 replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very clever idea! I was wondering when the first Cat B entries would start coming in the shaping on the camel is nice, and the layered rockwork looks great, the Arizona-type western rocks not often seen in historica builds, great work!- 20 replies

Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -ClearFalls Encounter (Pt.1)
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, I quite like the smaller trees too, the right balance of simple and effective the bridge took a few alliterations to get right, so I'm glad it turned out alright Thanks, guess you saw them in the wrong order then, but oh well That was really the main idea behind both builds, two separate builds for both sides, where both sides "succeed" in a way Thanks, glad the story was enjoyed, gotta practice story writing skills for Cat C- 17 replies

Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -A Welcome Message (Pt.2)
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you LJ, glad it doesn't look too overcrowded Thank you very much Thanks, I was worried the landscape was going to be too basic here compared to the last build, as the focus for this one was more on the structure, but happy it looks ok I've been hoping people will look at the builds in the right order to notice, even if they don't read the story to notice a continuation, and thanks! Thank you, I'm hoping to make this style into a new northern Mitgardia village, maybe start off with a few separate builds, but hopefully one day a large full town Thanks SK, it seemed logical to not just have the logs resting on the wall, so that is how I image the wall would be built That little roof took way too long it figure out Thank you, I don't know whether story comes into the judging, but it was fun to come up with and write- 14 replies

Oh wow, that eagle is a stunning creature! Although the wall is very nice too, and the way they're both connected is particularly clever, there's really nothing to criticise here, fantastic work!

Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -ClearFalls Encounter (Pt.1)
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yeah, I get what you mean, but the tauntaun fits nicely in Mitgardia, in fact far up north I almost feel like they're more suited than horses And thank you Thank you, the focus for this build was more the landscape, whereas for Part 2 the focus was more on the architecture- 17 replies

Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -A Welcome Message (Pt.2)
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, the angled roof was awkward to to a point I was happy with, although it's rather fragile Thanks, this build was almost to test the architecture for a possible future Nordic village build/new location in Mitgardia Thank you, that's what I was aiming for, a sort of continuation between this and my Spire build- 14 replies

**Book II Challenge V Official Announcment**
Legofin2012 replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
My second Challenge V build, this time for the Resistance/Alliance: Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -A Welcome Message (Pt.2): -
( Part 1 (Spire) ) When the ice begins to melt, and the springs start to flow again, it's not uncommon to use these fresh sources as water supply. However packages floating down river are a bit more peculiar... A young boy sent out to collect water, nothing strange, until a leather satchel floats through the metal bars, getting stuck for a few seconds before washing up by his feet. At first curious, he then notices blood stains on the bag, and quickly runs off to alert a guard of his discovery, who spread the word to the town leader... (Guard) -Sir! A young boy found this satchel floating own the stream, we opened it to take a look and inside is a message, and an important one too... (Finn) -Well then, what does it say? -The message got a bit wet during its voyage, but we've managed to decipher it, it's concerning the heir sir! -The heir? The king has returned? Rightful ruler of all Historica, the only one who can unite the guilds! -Yes, well... debatable, but there's a meeting, in Cedrica, it calls to all leaders in all the guilds, to discuss the oncoming threat of Raavage and The Spire... Also something about another helm, but the ink smudged down there with the water... -Very well, prepare a small travelling party, I shall head to Cedrica. As for the message it must be spread across the land, send out multiple messengers, with guards, don't want the same to happen to them... We must also attempt to find the original messenger, send a group of men up stream, they might find something... -Very well sir. So this is part 2, for the resistance, I wanted to enter a build for each side and have them linked, not just two completely separate builds -Thanks for stopping by!

Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -ClearFalls Encounter (Pt.1)
Legofin2012 replied to Legofin2012's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thank you, glad people still like the base Thanks, the tree nearly didn't make it due to an awkward connection point, but I'm pleased it was worth including Thanks, I'm happy the base doesn't get old, as the alternative would just be no base, a border wouldn't work well with the rocks Thank you, the Tauntaun fits perfectly in Mitgardia, I think it's a shame it doesn't get used more, horses are too mainstream nowadays Thanks, and hm, I see what you mean... although there wasn't really much space left, but honestly if this was still intact I would probably do that, but I needed parts for Part 2 Thanks SK, glad you like my builds, and Mitgardia is especially fun to build in so this definitely won't be the last!- 17 replies

I know I recen commented on this through flickr, but I didn't really get "into" the build much. Firstly great build, the colours and shaping are fantastic, especially the base of the mill, an almost simple technique, but really works and looks worn, realistic. The landscape is very nice too, the only part I'm not too keen about is the tilted dark tan plates on the rocks, it almost seems too "gappy", but it could work. The difference between the grey landscape rocks, and the dark grey cobblestone base is nicely done as well. Lastly the working feature is a brilliant addition, at first I couldn't figure out why the blades would spin the opposite direction to the knob, but after noticing the bottom part spinning too, it really is a fantastic detail that could of been left out, but the inclusion really adds a lot to the build, great build!

I remember commenting on this before somewhere, but the colours used are just wonderful, almost warm, welcoming colours, but with a little bit of creepy Nocturnus vibe added in! Favourite parts have to be the balcony in the back, and the windows in the roof, they're just nice details that break up the consistency, but in a great way Fantastic work

**Book II Challenge V Official Announcment**
Legofin2012 replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
My first Challenge V entry, this one for The Spire: Book II, Challenge V: Cat A -ClearFalls Encounter (Pt.1): So many fantastic entries so far! -
Somewhere in the Mitgardian mountains. Travelling alone can get lonely, but sometimes unwanted company can be worse... Messengers have been sent out all over Historica announcing the return of the heir, and an important meeting of free-Historica's leaders to plan the next move against Raavage and his advancing forces. But naturally The Spire could not sit back and let this happen, as many messengers as possible must be stopped. Walking across a rocky path through Mitgardian mountains, the lone messenger never expected to see much more than a bear or two. But arriving at a small bridge in the path, all of a sudden an icy wind starts to pick up, most peculiar, ice storms are usually reserved for the depths of winter, not the beginning of spring, the snow had even started to melt and the streams flow again... But it did not take long for the messenger to realize this was no ordinary snow storm as the frozen wind started to swirl around him, the beast he used to carry supplies quickly bucked, running off into the storm. He was alone, on the small wooden bridge, with the raging storm swirling around him, leaving a clearing in what seemed to be the eye of a tornado. Although this was only the beginning, when out of he storm came two men, charging at him. It began to make sense, the men were Spire soldiers, and for the storm? An unlikely alliance, it must have been conjured using magic to stop the messenger, the Algus had joined the Spire. With the surrounding storm he had nowhere to run, knowing the importance of the message he was carrying in his satchel, the only option was to fight. It was a valiant effort, but eventually he was outnumbered. Knowing he had lost, seconds before the final blow was dealt, he cast the leather satchel into the flowing stream below, down the waterfalls, in the hopes that someone, somewhere would find it... The surviving Spire men walked away from the scene, as the swirling storm died down, leaving behind them only bloodied bodies, and a lost message... So that was my first entry for Category A of Challenge V, this one for The Spire, stopping Historica from uniting against Raavage at all cost. This was fun to build, and I was happy yo use the Tauntaun in a Mitgardia build again -Thanks for looking!

Thank you Thanks, as the main characters in my story and sig fig, I thought it best they were interesting Thank you, I wasn't sure how to do the edge of the path, but working it in with the snot seemed like the best option Thank you very much Thanks, glad people like the bases, I almost don't like the way borders "limit" a build, and wanted to be able to imagine the surrounding landscape Thanks, well hopefully one day my character story will catch up to this point (being present day), but that might take a while Unfortunately this build didn't get anywhere in CCC, but it was worth the build just to introduce my present sig fig. Should have my Challenge V, cat A entries up tomorrow (part 1 and 2)

Challenge: "A safe haven"- Celebrating five years of GoH!
Legofin2012 replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
A very interesting challenge indeed, look forward to seeing all the new styles and architectures we'll get through the first category As soon as Challenge V is over, can't wait to get stuck into this! -
Very nice, definitely gives off the fantasy elvish vibe, perfect for Avalonia! The unusual shape is great, and the lush forest landscape is the perfect setting. Fantastic build all around!
