LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
weavil replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Or highlight the piece(s) the removed part came off of. -
Just tried it on my Droid X and it worked with one of th models. Used Firefox of course (the new version of chrome doesn't work on my phone). But while I was there I decided to see if Mecabricks would let me build or not. It did! But for movement and rotation I had to use the controls on the side of the page. It was a bit laggy, but that might be because I need to update Firefox.

I just thought of something. With the design of the EV3 system, it fits in. -
Firgelli actuators

I have seen them in a couple of MOC's before. I think they used them for the reach, because the rest of the MOC look like it was pure Lego. I'm a purest too, but sometimes you might need 1 or 2 for a to scale mock. -
They probably changed the at the last minute before shipping first started. Also take in mind the sticker , it depends on what warehouses have what version. Some might go through their initial stock slower than others. And how many warehouses they have for that country. For example TRU has several here in the USA and the northeast might go through all of the model first. So the warehouse would get a newer version first.

I also read on Wikipedia that ABS can have a different hardness depending on the temperature and the time till it's cooled, if I remember right. Its hard to put a link in a post on my phone.

But they would have to change their machines, because doesn't nylon have a different heating and cooling during molding?

Funny Figuers
weavil replied to weavil's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Put a fabuland head on one and put him in a crawler. The ankle of the figures loosen easy and don't hold them up as good. Mine all (bout one) suffered accidents while at the technic test facility. -
Funny Figuers

Found some on BrickShelf while looking for something else. He e-mailed me back and said I could post his pictures. His brickshelf of figures, but here are some of Martin's figures. Some of them are too big to post, but here are some. -
So the set comes with a phone or the set is for building a phone?..... LOL.

New Technic Part
weavil replied to nychase's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The only thing that its been used for is with a minifig as opera binoculars. It was either a MOC and/or an official set. Or as regular binoculars. -
Idler gear sliding about?
weavil replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You could try the old grey one if you got one. The axle part is tighter in gears and lift arms. -
Lost art of orienting bushings?
weavil replied to torso's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I'm like torso. Can't shake the old school habbit. But it doesn't matter with the new bushings. As you can see, the old on the left and the new on the right, there is a ridge. And on the other side... (old still on left, new still on right) So we now see the big question. The old is smoother on the rounded side. The ridge just fits into the recess of the beam/lift arm or most anything with a round whole. Yet the new one doesn't look as smooth on either end as the old one. As for pins: Its all up to the builder. I like to arrange them to be a little more structuraly sound. Like this: \ / \ They will fail with too much load, but at least my mind feels better till it fails. I like to use as many of my older pins because they are thicker.
