  1. Oh my god, I've found my true love. And it's called Quest 44. How beautiful. How incredible. What a well shot and narrated scene. Gets the heart pumping. I've never been more excited for the fate of Eubric.
  2. Without being rude - stop apologizing and just fix the issues. Search through the topics. There is a great index that will tell you where to go for different things pinned to the top of this sub-forum. Read all the topics there that you want to know about, and commit the information to memory. Also, read old Quests. Quest 6 is a good example, and a short read. Quest 41 is also short and fun and more recent, so it includes some of the newer mechanics (though I'm bias). Finally, if you have more time, read 32, it's got a lot of new mechanics, but is also straight forward and concerns the classes you'll be dealing with for the time being. One of my personal favorite sayings is this: "If you keep apologizing for the same thing, it can't mean you're that sorry." No one minds new people in the game. We love it, actually. Seriously. But when the new people don't put forward an effort, that bothers us, because we've put a lot of work into the game, and also because we've done a lot of work to make it accessible. So read up, and look at the topics before asking things here.
  3. Um.... it pretty clearly states how attacking the angel works in the post with the battle. I know it's there because Corny read it and clarified it for you. Attacking the angel will drain it's ether. I don't know how to say it simpler than that, so I hope that makes sense? As for the WP used... this is probably why we're not allowed to make unique weapons . I'd say that the rules apply as stated (backrow 21, front row 15).
  4. The Angel looks at Cronk. "You have darkness in you. You are no true Paladin. You have let evil go. You serve in a corrupt Hall, with corrupt allies." The Angel takes a long pause. "But you are the only one here with a glimmer of light in you. I would like to spare you and save you and train in in the true ways of Ennoc. If you sit out this battle, I will bless you on your way. Do not ask for your friends to be spared. They have darkness in them. They are too far from salvation." OoC: If Cronk sits out this battle, he will be given the blessed effect for the next battle, and also be gifted with two somas. Also, I still need an action/battle order, even if you're blind and doing nothing this round, Scorpiox.
  5. "Well then, that wasn't so awful, was it?" Boomingham looks at the things the sea creatures had left behind. "Ellaria, I think you might have been a bit slighted last time we gave out things, since you didn't like that banana I gave you. The Aquamarine is your's, though if you wouldn't mind loaning it to Nyx until we're back in Eubric and you can put it to good use, I'd be most obliged. Smelling Salts are your's, Atramor. Thanks for working with us instead of near us this time around. Ogre, you could do with a Grand Potion, you seem to take damage more often than not. Finally, for my dearest Madam Mage, I present thou with this here fishstick. Put it to good use. I know it don't smell good, but you're the only one here who can wield it. As for the gold, 5 for the Ogre, 5 for Atramor, 10 for Nyx, 40 for Rufindel, and I'll keep the final 40. Fair? This loot distribution is a headache. Back in the Orcish Invasion, it used to be that you got what you picked up."
  6. Charles Darwin! BAWK! Wait, Charles Darwin lives in this universe too?! During the Age of the Eagle? That raises so many questions! Like... how'd he fail to notice giant animals?! Where the hell do we fit in with the rest of evolution? And don't try to pretend we're normal sized animals who have secretly built houses and shit! I saw those force ghosts of the Baker and his wife in that.... time period before the first day of this....... game...... of life........ So, yeah, Marcellus. Also, how did Charles Darwin totally disregard magic in his studies. Your little gem staff thing is magic, right? Or is it evolution. Sorry, parrots are naturally dickish towards monkeys in the wild.
  7. Tesni and Alexis both climb the rickety old stairs and pluck the flower, and once more, the heroes see a vision of the past before them. ------------------------------------------------------------- "We are getting closer to the Eye. It's time that we stop hugging the edge of the valley and head in." "This is a place of wonder! Look, a great battle was fought here. I wish to one day fight in a truly noble battle." "Wren, a word?" Roderick and Wren peel off as the other two continue to walk. "You know that we cannot keep--" The heroes, both in the vision and viewing it, are blinded as an Angel appears. "You should not be here, in the home of Ennoc! This is his holy land on Olegia! You will perish!" The party barely has time to react before the Angel fires a blast of white light at Wren. Only Triad is quick enough, quickly flicking her blade so that it becomes it takes larger than life shuriken form. She steps in front of Wren and her blade and she absorb the blow. She is flung backwards and lays still, wisps of smoke rising out from her robes. Roderick swings at the Angel, but it catches his blade and flings it back, lighting up his chest with another spell that sends him to his knees, coughing. Wren chants a few quick words and fire spews forth. The Angel walks through it unscathed. Wren shoots a ball of darkness at it as well, but it continues it's advance on her, totally unharmed. Wren begins to stumble back in fear. "You cannot hurt my friends!!!" screams the little bear-like creature as it digs it's twin sword into the Angel's shoulders. The Angel falls backwards, and the little creature drive his blades into it's chest countless times until it disappears in another flash of light. THe little bear-like creature tries to help Wren to her feet. "I'm sorry it took me so long to climb above it. I slipped once and almost fell. Are you alright?" Wren nods dumbly as the bear-like creature walks towards Roderick and helps him to his feet as well. "Are you alright too, Roderick. I'm sorry that it took me so long, I will only improve from here, I'm sure!" Roderick does not say a word. He gets to his feet steadily, and then with one quick decisive motion cuts open the small creature's chest. The bear-like creature falls to the ground, unconscious already. Wren gasps and rushes to its side. "Bal!" she cries out. "Roderick," she follows with a whimper. "What have you done?" "You knew what had to be done, Wren. You knew we'd have to kill them off before we got to the Eye. What'd you expect? They're narrow minded. They'll try to stop us from summoning Zoot to his own slaughter. They'll act just as Sasha did. For that, they must all die before we get there. We can't have them defending the God of Chaos." Roderick spits on the body. "Bal got what was coming to him. Go see if Triad's dead. If she is, all the better. If not... well, we could still use her until we get to the Eye. Don't know what else might be hiding out in these woods." Roderick walks away. Wren waits until he is out of sight before whispering to Bal. "Bal... I can't save you now. Roderick would only cut you down again, and besides... I know you'd try to stop us. You are too brave Bal. But... I will seal you here. And others may come and save you. Maybe. Hopefully. Roderick does not understand, Bal. He does not love the light, but he does not love Chaos either. He will get what is coming to him. He forgets that even Chaos gives everyone what they deserve." Wren seals the little creature and then turns to Triad. She feels her pulse and sighs with relief. "You get to live a little longer, at least," she says. "Perhaps you'll have the wisdom to run before we arrive at the Eye. Please run before then, Triad. We cannot be stopped. Zoot wants us to come. Please." Wren reaches into her robes and extracts a Phoenix Essence. She pours it down Triad's throat, and slowly the Ranger comes back to life. She takes one look at Bal. Wren simply shakes her head and helps Triad up. "Roderick is waiting for us up ahead." -------------------------------------------------------- The heroes are rushed into their own reality and are greeted by a powerful light. The Angel is upon them already. Only Tesni and Alexis, high above, shield their eyes from the glow. "You will perish. You have darkness in you, all of you. Ennoc will not allow it." 8. OoC: Have you been adding in the +4 bonus I get from my hood? I don't see it in the calculations.
  9. Does e-mail not require the internet? If I had a flash-drive.... but of course, it's the things we forget to pack....
  10. I love Nur all the time. He's such a funny and intriguing character. He makes little comments about leaving the girls to waste, but also lets Sylph think he's bending the tree himself. How fun is that? Very. Also, sorry again to the 38ers. The computer I have my pictures on randomly can't connect to the internet right now. Why? Who knows! My Mac can do it fine! College internet has 0 rules of consistency, apparently.
  11. Glad to see I got a mention in the Heroica part of your profile. Lamest moment in Heroica! Woooo!

  12. You guys want to keep going with the Quest? But don't you know that makes your QM do work?! What if he had a lot of classes today and is tired. Doesn't that just make you feel awful? The party marches for an hour or so, each lost in their own thoughts, before arriving at the ruins of what must have at one point been a garrison for the Paladin Order. "There is so much carnage everywhere we look. The Gray Wizard is right when he says that those who do not see the Gray and see only White and Black lead us to our doom... oh poor Roderick." It does not take long for the heroes to spot the Flower of Sybil. Would one of them like to pick it?
  13. Wren's backstory has been in place for a long time, but it is intriguing to see the similarities. Wren and Arthur share many, and now it looks like Sasha, Arthur, and Alexis share some too. I'm glad to have the extra role-play and story! Yeah, I admittedly shot myself in the foot a little by having her come from the North, because I don't know too much about it in real life, and know... actually, probably more about it in Heroica, but still not a whole lot. I figured the north north north would be extremely unruly and not too charted with lots of little tribes who wouldn't have to have the same traditions as each other, so I placed her there. I put RPing over strategy always, though luckily Boomingham actually is a strategical thinker, so MOST of the times I have him make the best choice. And your right, but Boomingham is always more of a "back-up" healer. He's got four healers on the team of 6, so he only heals when he really needs to. I've never come close to running out of ether.... I think I used a grand total of 1 ether in all of Quest 28, and that was only because Boomingham had knocked out Haldor. I do put myself first in the battle order nearly always, it's again something Boomingham would insist on. He gets hit first if anyone gets hit, that's his motto. These are his troops. He must protect them. Sorry if I seem defensive, I'm just commenting on your analysis, which I appreciate and love (I give lots of QM feedback, so clearly I love it when others do the same). I am really excited to see where Boomingham goes. Before he leaves Paladin, the Barty storyline must develop a bit further. Barty holds a secret that's important to Boomingham. (Fun fact - Boomingham didn't sign up for this quest, it was written in italics that the quill floated and signed his name for him). Finally, I'm extremely pleased that you like Boomingham! I like him too! I was worried, because he and Guts don't exactly get along if memory serves. I think it would be interesting if the two of them went on a quest together. They would agree on some things extremely heavily, and disagree on other things extremely heavily. That's always the most fun to roleplay. I think that's why Nyx and Boomingham play so well together - they clearly really like each other while still having extremely distinct disagreements.
  14. I don't read the mail I deliver! BAWK! Is downstream north? I'm sorry, I have a terrible sense of direction.
  15. NPC index..... that's a project for when this quest ends. I have a list of what I need to add to it. It is scarily long.
  16. Um.... are you serious? Shawna has twice pointed out why she believes the axe murderer is the SK.... And I apologize Shawna, you did point out your thoughts on the scum killer. You think it took Ernie setting himself on fire for them to earn a kill. Thank you, it is at the very least a interesting (and extremely worrisome) theory. Is that clearer now? BAWK! Oh, Shawna, your grandma sent you a postcard from Autumn Safety-Depoisit-Box, the village to the north!! She says that they've started to eat each other up there and they're also voting people to be killed. I mean.... I don't read the mail I deliver. BAWK!
  17. Boomingham smiles and tries to heal himself. Assuming he succeeds, he attacks the Naga, but assuming he fails, he tries to heal himself again. "Madam Mage, if you would be so very kind as to assist the good Sir Lord Ogre in putting that darling little crab to sleep, I'd be much obliged. Perhaps while you're doing it, Atramor and I will have the pleasure of trading blows with this lovely Naga over here. Is that polite enough for you, m'lady?" Boomingham winked at his young friend. Battle Order Boomingham Ellaria Atramor Nyx Skrall Seaweed!
  18. "I'm sorry to say that I do not recognize that name. My people simply believe in the Gods of the North, who are Chaotic Gods, but not Gods of Chaos. We believe that Chaos is everywhere, but it is an agent of change and growth, not destruction." "My Gods have no names, my fellow Nord. I come from the far north, where a night without a fire may mean a night of death. I do not know from where you hail, but no doubt our peoples have much of the same blood. We may not worship the same gods, or perhaps we do, and your's are simply named versions of our's, but we are family just the same. I have found that many places worship the same ideals under different titles and appearances."
  19. Please tell me somebody else also finds BAWK! I agree they're ridiculous, but they are the only scenarios I can think of, assuming Shawna is right in her logical insistence that the axe murderer is the SK. I agree their crazy... but they are also apparently true. BAWK! Do you feel foolish now for pretending I was the only one making that assumption. Also, since you seem to have all the answers Shawna, please answer my question. Which side do you believe the trap-setter is on, assuming, as you do, that the axe murderer is a SK? And finally, First Lady, please please please explain your vote against Horace. If you feel strongly about it, which you must because you voted, it is EXTREMELY important you tell the town what you know.
  20. I got nipple clamps, pure and simple. BAWK! I'm sorry, you're right in saying I've done a poor job in responding. I believe only one out of Pennie or Casey are scum, they squabble too much without the need to meat-shield each other to be on the same team. I have found Pennie more suspect so far, as I outlined before I voted her, before I voted for you. I think also she'd be more helpful to vote out, because she'd put to rest the question of her and Gordon's strange partnership day one. If she's scum, he might be worth gunning for, and if she's not, while far from in the clear, perhaps there would be other leads worth looking into more.
  21. OoC: Stats updated to reflect ether Cronk spent on himself, Tesni, Haldor, and Triad.
  22. BAWK! I might go catch some fish from the river... I'm sorry, I meant to put that little sarcastic emotion... on my face... after saying "of course I'm directing votes away from Casey". It was supposed to be an (again sarcastic) "of course the only reason I'd vote for you was because I want Casey out of hot water, the idea that I might find you suspect is outlandish!!" I'm sorry for my "sudden attack". I saw something I found suspect, so I voted. People need to be more active in this town. Just as you "used your vote" to get Casey to explain, so I "used my vote" to delve deeper into what I found suspicious about you. Or is it only okay when you do it? BAWK!
  23. I'd feel a lot safer with more sheep around. BAWK! Hm, the evidence you bring forth does point the other way. I've been assuming the SK was the trap killer because they killed a cultist, an assumption I thought many people were making. The alternative was that it was a vigilante and that the axe murderer was the serial killer, which left the cultists without a kill, something that seemed strange to me, but now you're saying that the clues point that way, unless the cultists randomly killed off one of their own the first night. The third option was that the axe killer was the cultist kill, and the trap setter a vigilante, but I think our God is pretty BAWK! fond of third parties, so I figured there would be one floating around. I hope you see why I'd assume the first option to be true. However, with this new theory coming to light... what do people think? Axe murderer is apparently a SK, which means that either the cultists killed one of their own the first night, or have no kill? Which one do we think it is?
  24. sleep... I want to sleep... so sleepy in winter... BAWK! If she is very high on your list and you were willing to vote for her yesterday when she was NOT likely to be lynched, please explain your hesitation to do so today. Also, please address your speech today, casually voting for Casey and then making a whole speech against Pennie. It is your clear push for Casey while still pretending to be against Pennie (for reasons that make no sense if you're voting Casey) that made me look at your voting pattern, not the other way around. Please address the actual indicators of your guilt. I'm asking you why you aren't putting your money where you mouth is. Simple as that. It's strange to not do it. And yes, of course I'm desperate to direct votes away from Casey. Another classic cultist tell, attack the attacker immediately, even before there's pressure. Cultists are just more fiery and likely to panic, I guess. And as for your meat-shield explanation... do you really think that they're both against each other, or that this early in the day either of them would try to meat-shield the other. I find that highly improbable. They are far from the need of cultists to vote cultists. I'm aware of the cultist's tactics, but they don't need that one yet.
  25. "I promise you, Cronk, you and I will trade questions and answers when the time is right." "I do not doubt your prowess as a warrior, Tesni. You have shown that countless times to me already, taking on a challenge my more seasoned team was unable of combatting. When I refer to the green heroes, I refer to those who have not forgotten the darkness that they left behind, and fail to strive forward to correct the wrongs before them. I talk of heroes that have yet to understand the grayness of the world, and that they must make difficult choices, and sometimes people will be hurt. You are perhaps, not green in that way either, however. You speak with wisdom." "We are just.... barely..... we have little strength to talk..... who is there?" "Hi there Triad. It's Sasha, and the Gray Wizard is with me." Cronk heals Triad. She sits up a little stronger, but it is clear that she is still in pain. "We are very...... pleased that you both still live...... but we have little..... time for talk............... we must travel to the west for a half of a mile..... or so..... there you will find the rogue.............. he will be hurt..........." Sasha's face goes pale. "I'm sorry, Triad, but he's long dead. We have been here for seven years, these brave heroes have only now saved us." "We know how long it has been, we--" "Look, I don't know much, I've only been out of my little town one, and I've never met an Acurrism before, but I know the way things work. How are you still alive after seven years? Not be be ungrateful, but still, how do we know you aren't some trick? You should by all rights have perished one way or another. Even if you survived your wounds, you need food and water." "Acerpusculums are an old species. We do...... not die easily........ we have suffered great...... pain before..... when in situations of distress, we may retreat within our mind and....... hide there. Our bodies die in many ways, but live in......... the least functional way, waiting for us to return to them........ mentally we disappear into another realm........ shared by all Acerpusculums........... but e still experience bodily pain......... and may still be killed if enough damage is done........ or if we do not eat within ten years............... we were growing worried that we would run out of time before.......... anyone came to get us.......... or that the pain would overwhelm us..... and we would choose to die fighting the beast instead of enduring........ the torture....... the torture........" "I'm so sorry, Triad. This was my party. I knew that Wren and Roderick could not be trusted." "We do not blame you..... there is nothing that you could do for us......... everyone knew the dangers of the valley and of the duo............ they were friends and also enemies...... a dangerous combination that is even harder to combat............. you did no wrong....... but now we must go save the rogue....... he is too frozen in time, as you were......... Wren spared him, I believe.........." "You cannot come with us." "We wish we could, but we know you speak truly. You must stay with us and attend to our wounds........ and we will be ready to fight once more when Sasha returns......... this tunnel is the only entrance to the Eye....... which is perched on a hill above........ we will lead the way when we are ready....... finally, mage, come forth......" Arthur steps forward. "You hold our blade now.......... if you flick it, it will become a large shuriken..... that only the strongest may throw...... it serves us no good now........ hold it until we are well......... save the rogue....... and be careful....... of the angel......." Acerpusculum Blade (Acerpusculum Shuriken) - A weapon gifted to young and gifted Acerpusculum warriors. (WP: 15 [21, Retrievable], suitable for rangers/rogues) OoC: A unique weapon, yay! It functions like this. The user may either choose to use it as a blade (halved damage from back row, normal from front row) or a Shuriken (full damage from the back row, but as retreivable). "I will remain here and assist the Gray Wizard in his healing. He is still feeble, and he may need someone to protect him. I did not bring a weapon into this valley because I am an Ennoc loving man, but I am sure if the worse comes to worse, I can use the Gray Wizard's staff to ward off attackers." The heroes nod and Sasha leads them off. OoC: Not the "official roleplay until you drop section, but if you want to say anything to Sasha, now would be a good time!
