  1. Very funny! It's a four page comic without words and a twist, while still being funny. That's pretty impressive story-telling!
  2. OoC: Ether counts have been updated for Arthur and Alexis because they were shockingly high, and I went back to correct them. Round Five Priest of Ennoc Battle Cronk v. Priest E - Critical Hit (0) Tesni v. Priest A - Special Damage Alexis v. Priest - Damage Alexis v. Priest - Critical Hit ([([10x2]+21)x2]x2=164) (-1 ether Alexis) Arthur v. Priest - Special Damage (+75 health) (-1 ether Priest) Haldor v. Priest - Confuses (-1 ether Arthur) Gray heals Priest - Heal (76x2 = 144) Cronk swings at a apparition and loses his balance. All the apparitions fly at the party and explode in a burst of light. When the heroes regain their eye sight, Cronk's Angel stands proudly, and one Priest stands alone. He shoots a spell at Alexis, which the Angel absorbs easily. Alexis fires off yet another successful light spell. The Priest tries in vain to heal himself, but the Gray Wizard heals him to death. The Priest falls to his feet, but does not disappear like the Knight before him. 3. BAWK! I'm tired of everyone calling me that rat bird! Talk about something else. Like your suspects. Our goal hasn't changed since the first day. The more we talk, the more we have to evaluate! Town should be panicking a little. We had one kill so far, and we don't know if we've had any successful votes. Let's get one today. Share any and all suspects, thoughts, etc. COMMUNIBAWK!CATE! And remember to send postcards to your loving families outside of our lovely and deadly village! I'l deliver them when the whole ordeal is over.
  4. No, they alternate, I'm not that evil.
  5. Ralphy, stop calling me bad names! I'm no dirty bird! I'm a bird of paradise! Just ask my beautiful wife! BAWK! On a side note, you have now won the award for worst defense "I'd realy hate it if you lynched me, but on the other hand, I just don't give a shit" AND least subtle attempt to try to get night actions out in the open "hey, people with night actions, say something". BAWK! I can't tell if you're just a townie who could care less, or a cultist. And you never ever send anyone any letters. A parrot's got to eat, ya know.
  6. OoC: Wait... when did I agree to this being a valid strategy? I'm sorry, but you can't do that... or else as soon as one of you hit him you'd all be allowed to attack him, every round...
  7. OoC: Patricia should read up on her geography. Cathargo does indeed have a King. Boomingham doesn't appear even remotely put off by the strict woman's response. "As you say, m'lady. I am ready to lead my merry band out whenever your men are ready to sail!"
  8. A holy bomb will hit the real priest for sure, but won't make the apparitions disappear. Also, in case it is not clear, ALL apparitions will be used when Special Damage is rolled. The attack spends all of them, and does damage equal to 2xtheir current number.
  9. Boomingham raises an eyebrow at Captain, and the sides of his mouth curl up. He pulls himself up slightly and confidently paces the room with even more confidence and flourish than usual. "Hello, m'lady. I don't believe we've had the pleasure yet. King Lawrence Boomingham, General during the Orcish Invasion, given the title the King of the Desert by the King of Cathargo, Slayer of Balthazar the Blue. How do you do?" Boomingham takes Patricia's hand and kisses it lightly. "Forgive our absence, we ran into your recruit, who insisted that we go collect the documents he was to bring to you. I of course obliged. Couldn't show up empty handed. We dispatched of some Metsamians waiting in ambush for us easily enough, and we picked up these papers. What would you have us do next? Your wish is my command. i live to serve, now, m'lady."

  11. Alright, so let's just BAWK! synthesize the information that we have so far. -The trap setter is either a vigilante or a third party killer. There is no way that it is a scum killer. -The trap setter has not been blocked yet. -There was an axe killer on night one. We have no BAWK! idea who's action it is. It is either a vigilante, third party, or scum. We do know, however, that it did not occur tonight, which means that it either belonged to Carly, OR it was booked, a option most people are oddly seeming to disregard. -There has not been a third kill yet. This may mean a poisoner, or it may mean that there is no third party killer. If there is no third party killer, then that means by default our axe murderer is the cultist killer, and the trap setter is a vigilante. If there is a poisoner today, it may be any of the three parties. Does everyone agree with this? Please tell me if I missed something. It is intriguing to me that many people have flown to the option of "Carly must have been the scum killer". Why are we assuming that? There could be a myriad of other reasons there was no axe kill tonight. It's also interesting to see who is assuming the axe kill belongs to the cultists. These two comments jumped out to me the most: Sure, he throws in the "but that's rather unlikely", but he still flings out the idea BAWK! early in the day that perhaps the scum killed one of their own, and perhaps the trap setter is scum. Why is he introducing this idea to us? To get us thinking about it. EVEN THOUGH IT MAKES NO SENSE BAWK! Sorry, I got excited. Why in the world are you assuming that? There are literally tens of other possibilities of why there was no kill. And you say a lack of a scum kill. You're assuming quite a lot, on very little. a) you assume that the axe murderer is a cultist and b) you assume that the axe murderer was killed and not blocked. Why are you assuming these things? Do you know things we don't? Or are you perhaps attempting to pretend that the axe murderer was killed so that we're al the most shocked when one of us ends up poisoned in a few hours. There are too many people drawing axe murderer to the cultists for my liking. I feel that these people are trying to have us be surprised when someone dies later, and I also feel that they will then follow the logic "oh, the axe murderer was scum, so this poisoner must be a third party or vigilante, we should trust them". They're planting the seeds of deception right now. BAWK! Be quiet Ralphy! I'm a parrot, so don't kick at me, I deliver mail on my own time! I heard you whispering. I'M NO BAWK!ING PIGEON! And don't think we've forgotten about you. You're close to the lynch block, please stop being helpful.
  12. "Will you wait for us to receive our reward before paying you back?" Boominham eyed the Sharkling with interest. "Last time I did not take you up on your offer, and I regretted it. Tell you what. If you'll wait for us to collect our reward, I'll borrow 80 gold from you happily. If not, well then we'll be off, unless any of the others want some extra spending money."

Only Alexis seems able to once more land a solid hit, sending the priest flying back, and the Gray Wizard is actually able to heal her. Ennoc would never allow you to sssserve him. You are a liar!" "Good to see this old thing still works. Who's next?" Ever the stern tactician, McColt yells out commands even while supporting the Gray Wizard. "Heroes, no one else drink a Nostrum! I know it sounds foolish, but you must get him to use his ability against you before there are so many of him that the blast created by them will knock you out regardless. If any of you have Smelling Salts, you should take them now. The more often you trigger the special, the better off you'll be to take the damage and heal yourselves between the blows."
  14. OoC: Sorry, Skrall should have the banana, and yes, Elaria should have the scroll. Bomingham smiles to see the Sharkling and gives him a quick salute of recognition. "Sorry about the mess, chap. I'm afraid we've already looted the bodies as well, so that won't do you much good. Thanks for holding on to those scrolls for us, but I think it's about time that we were on our merry way." Boomingham turns to the recruit. "Alright, chappo, let's see this Patricia of your's."
  15. BAWK! Hey Marcellus! Thanks for using me to deliver your Mod Notes to everyone in town. I really appreciate the business. Sometimes I mail stuff to myself because no one else is mailing anything. What's a parrot to do? Other than nibble on his beautiful wife's large ears. BAWK! You may notice that I'm bawking more quietly. That's because it's night time and I don't want to wake anyone up. Don't worry, during the day I'll continue to BAWK! boldly. To boldly BAWK! where no parrot has BAWK!'d before.
  16. ROGER THAT!! I like Boomingham as a party leader, especially with a party like this. I've never really shown his "General" side, but before he joined Heroica, he really was a good one, I think, back in the Orcish Invasion, so it's fun to play that up and see what he does. It's also interesting to me that this quest I'm suddenly struck by the fact that many of the characters are a lot younger than him, and he's much more tired than they are. It's an interesting age gap in the group with Skrall, Boomingham and Rufindel as older and more tired characters, and Nyx, Atramor and Ellaria much more fiery and passionate. Aka when we said this party looked good, we were right.
  17. Boomingham raises an eyebrow. "You'll be wanting to get yourself in line as well, little lady. If you don't appreciate the share you get, then discuss it like an adult instead of tossing food all over the place. If you're not pleased with the banana, hang on to this scroll instead, but I expect it back at the end of our adventures unless it proves to be a particularly good fit for you." Boomingham turns to Atramor and nods respectfully. "Thanks for helping me to allot the resources properly. That's the type of thinking I'd like to see from here on in, chappo."
  18. Boomingham laughs a laugh of relief as the final enemy is stabbed in the gut. He pats his forehead with his kerchief nods respectfully at the Ogre as he gets to his feet. "Good to have you back on the field of combat. You too, Ellaria." Boomingham looks at the spoils. "Clearly, Monkey Bar goes to my dearest Nyx, who has once more proved she's invaluable to have around when push comes to shove. Ellaria, you can have the Banana. You've got more ether to spare, and Rufindel has got some extra protection. If you don't want it, you can gift it to him. Rufindel, you get the Deadly Venom, put it to good use, alright?" Boomingham looks at the remaining goods. A scroll, flail, shield, and some gold. "Alrighty, well, sadly, no one but me can use the shield, so that baby is mine. Ogre, you may have 50 gold, not much else that will do you good. Rufindel, you ought to take 50 gold too. Nyx, you get 25, Ellaria, you get 24. Atramor, we need to have a word, chappo. You want your hands on the flail, but I need to make sure you'll use it when I ask you to. Can't have you hacking at enemies that it would make more sense for others to put down. I'm giving it to you on the condition that you do what's best for our unit. If you don't do that, you will not receive more toys to play with for the rest of the quest. That includes gold." Boomingham pockets the scroll and one gold, and then picks up the shield, strapping the Shadeux one to his back under his cloak. "Righto, you all have free reign to try to figure out what in hel was going on here." EASY LIST (For Scuba! ) Boomingham - Shield, Scroll, 1 gold Rufindel - Deadly Venom, 50 Gold Skrall - 50 gold Nyx - 25 gold, Monkey Bar Atters - Flail Ellaria - Banana, 24 gold PS Fellow Players - I will try to be fair with the loot distribution, but will also stick to Boomingham's greedy and bias nature of RP. PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU ARE FEELING SLIGHTED! Of course, if I stuck to total RP, he'd give Skrall nothing and split everything actually good between himself and Nyx, but that would suck for you guys. Still, I might be slightly unfair, but only for RP, so if things start to really look like you've been getting the bad end of the stick, tell me and I'll correct it from there on in! And sorry for the OoC, won't write this much OoC again in the quest.
  19. Quite a different tune than the one you were singing when items that weren't related to you were under scrutiny. I'm teasing. I know the debates are so that we can all hash the best rule set. Here's my suggestion: weapons that are usable by MAGES and their advanced classes may use their effects while spells are being used through them. It makes logical and RP sense, and solves the issue with the Book and the Cultist Staff. AS ALWAYS: Flipz, Scuba, Sandy, anyone else I may or may not be butting heads with in this debate, you all know you have my utmost respect, or else I wouldn't even bother arguing the points with you.
  20. I think this pretty much says that's not allowed...
  21. ...oh, thanks for that thorough explanation... Why, exactly, is it different? The ruling was that "weapon special effects DO NOT take place when spells are used". So what about this one weapon makes it different from all other weapons? I'm also, as always, not trying to be rude. I'm just confused because you said you understood the ruling, and were really pro it, and yet aren't following what Sandy said. Just trying to get clarification!
  22. Me too. Also, Scuba, according to the rules that you said you've always understood, Nyx's book should not have rolled for a summon any of the times she's used a spell with it.
  23. I can't tell if this is calling me out for being silly or not, but I've only ever really hosted a mage with the book of a thousand creatures, which I was told worked on spells. I can see how the lullaby wand would seem over-powered if it was like that, I just haven't ever seen it before. Like I said, I'm supportive of this rule clarification. In his defense, a lot of QMs, including the one who created the item in question, did not play the game this way until this point. Again, I'm pro this clarification, but a weapon that was designed one way that now does not work that way is actually unfair in my mind. As I said above, he is only considering changing it because he created it with a different understanding. He meant it to work one way, that is now changed. I personally think that it should be allowed to be changed, to serve the function it was meant to serve. Again, I am nitpicking, I'm pro this clarification entirely. If these direwolves keep spawning, it truly will be the unlimited quest.
  24. Boomingham stumbles back and grunts. He watches as the Ogre falls next to him. Boomingham's voice grows gruff and urgent, and yet seems to have an excitement in it unknown to the other heroes. He searches his pockets very quickly and pulls out a Phoenix Essence, stares at it, and drops in back into the depths of his clothing. "We'll need those more later. Ellaria, save your's, and I don't want to hear any complaints about it. I hold it no secret that I have little love for his kind, but he is an ally, and if I believed it beneficial, I would rouse him. He's got a mind like that too, he'll understand. Best thing we can do for him is defeat these chaps quickly." Boomingham sucks in his breath, and under his scraggly beard, he grins broadly. "Ellaria, Atramor, take care of Scim. He can't hurt you, and if we're lucky, he'll get some poison in his blood. Nyx dear, I had to impose, but you must take on Slim. Those of us in the front can't take another swipe from that weapon of his. Of course, that leaves me to brave Scim. If I get cut down, I expect the same treatment I'm giving the Ogre." Boomingham swings his King of the Desert from the front row. Battle Order Rufindel Boomingham Nyx Ellaria Atramor
  25. Boomingham continues his dangerous dance with the Metasimian as he turns to talk to Atramor. "You and I are actual healers now, chap. Best get used to the fact. While you serve under me, you'll use your skills in the most beneficial way to the unit, not in whichever willy nilly way you feel like. Your a healer, so you heal. Safer than sending you into combat and potentially having you knocked out if someone else's spell goes awry. This way we have three assured attacks with no possibility of any of them being knocked out. I admit I put the Ogre into some danger, but the less risk, the better. So no grumbling. Faster you fix yourself, faster that blade of your's gets to chop these boys down." OoC: I know you get it, CMP. Just thought I'd explain to Atters.
