OoC: Jinxed friendlies targeted by healings do not get 4 rolls. If you target someone with a healing staff and they are jinxed, I would consider that gaining them four rolls. Round Seven Gray Battle Cronk uses a Phoenix Essence on Haldor Tesni uses a Remedy on Cronk Sasha does nothing Arthur v. Splinter - Critical Hit (([9x2]+17)x2=70) (1 ether) Triad v. Splinter - Hit Special Damage (No Effect) Haldor v. Splinter - Damage Miss ([50/2]-2=23) Gray heals Haldor - No Heal Free Hit Shard (Hastened) v. Cronk - ([50/2]-14=11) Other Tesni, Sasha: (-3 max. health due to Cursed) Shard regains 3 health McColt - Makes Haldor Lucky! The battle continues! Cronk revives the party's Shaman leader and Tesni heals Cronk. Haldor staggers to his feet, but a ghost of light floats towards him. It wraps around his waist and starts to drain away his life once more, but Sasha and McColt wrench him free. Arthur fires a spell that rams into the Splinter and makes it stagger, and Haldor is given a talk about opportunity on the battle field by McColt. The team might not be in the best of positions, but for the first time, their position seems manageable. I'll say two things: You can't put the cowl on the enemy. Sorry. Other than that... yes. You've just improved your odds by so much.
-
God killin' is tough. Also, if you'll be KO'd from the front row, but NOT from the back row... Just edited out a hint. I want you guys to figure out strategies. I doubt my ideas are the only good ones.
-
Yes, well, I won't give any of my personal thought-out strategies out, but clearly the EVERYONE attack him full force until he's down isn't working... so you've got to try something else.
-
My questies have got to start thinking outside the box! There is a better way to go about this battle.

Round Six Gray Battle Cronk v. Shard - Special Damage Damage (Cronk is Jinxed, made Fragile, and Cursed) Tesni v. Shard - Hit Special Damage Shield Special Damage (Nothing happens) Sasha v. Cronk - ([50/2]-14=11) Other Tesni, Sasha: (-3 max. health due to Cursed) Shard regains 3 health McColt - Makes Cronk Lucky! The battle continues! Cronk is struck by another blast of light that clouds his mind and freezes his body. Sasha and Tesni are thrown back by the attack as well, but seem to not sustain anything worse than they already have sustained. Arthur steals some money from the enemy and the brave little Bal gives Cronk a potion before being blasted by a stream of light that leaves him totally unconscious. Haldor lifts his metal rod, ready to avenge his little friend, but for some reason attacks from the front, where he can be taken out with one swipe. The Shard is happy to take him out with a quick flash of light that leaves Haldor with dead white eyes. He falls to the ground. McColt whispers some tactical advice into Cronk's ear, making him lucky. I agree! Let's see more subverted classes! Atramor plays a GREAT normal(ish) Witch (though, I guess he doesn't actually play too much to what we expect out of the 'classic' witch... he's not very cryptic). I'd be interested to see a twist on it, or even on Druid, as we've already got a number of very Druid like Druids. EDIT: Also, Sandy, don't believe I've complimented you on the Oracle Design! Very nice.
-
Knew my job was too easy this round. And you may remedy the Shard to remove any of it's negative effects, as the description of a remedy says.
-
I know you have stated before that Cronk doesn't use (or abuse) the numerous performance enhancing items. I respect that (and love that character trait). This is how your enemies feel when you guys do this sort of thing to them. Lots of positive effects for you guys, and negative effects for them. I just turned that around on you guys. But in the first round, other than one KO of your 10 person party, you guys took next to no damage and still made some decent hits. You just have to play it smart.

Yeah, the super supplied players generally down their consumables as soon as a battle ends so they're prepped for the next one and don't miss the opportunity. I was surprised when only Arthur decided to use the many drugs available to the heroes ( ), but apparently the heroes though killing a God would be a walk in the park.
-
Killing a God, even if it's only a small shard of a God, has got to be tough. Hopefully people use consumables before battles from now on. That's using a lot of turns.

OoC: Please note for this battle, effects such as "Lucky" and "Jinxed" will both remain on a player, and not cancel out. That way, you may remedy yourself and return to being lucky. Please also note that because of this, you may be "jinxed" twice, resulting in the actual jinxed effect. One remedy will fix both jinxed. It sounds over complicated, but trust me, it is beneficial to you guys, and only a headache for me! Round Five Gray Battle Cronk uses Remedy Tesni v. Shard - Critical Hit Special Damage (Tesni is made Jinxed, Cursed, and Fragile) Skorpio - 22 Damage Dealt Alexis - Aim Damage ([50/2]-3=22) Sasha - Hit Special Damage (Sasha is made Jinxed, Cursed, and Fragile) Arthur - Hit (26x2=52) Alexis - Damage Aim ([50/2]-3=22) Bal - Shield Special Damage (Bal is made Jinxed, Cursed, and Fragile) Bal - Critical Hit Miss Triad - Critical Hit Hit (43) Haldor uses Remedy Gray does nothing Free Hit Shard (Hastened) v. Cronk - ([50/2]-14=11) Other Shard regains 3 health McColt - Attempts Nothing (Scorpiox.... McColt could really be helping out your team if you'd use him...) The battle continues. The Shard shoots a blinding beam of light out of it's glowing eyes that pierces Tesni, Sasha, and Bal. Alexis commands Skorpio to pierce the side of the God, but even as her summon does so, a strange shimmer ghost of light flies forward and envelops Alexis before dissipating. Alexis falls unresponsive to the floor. Triad's enormous Shuriken rams against Roderick's armor, which is starting to shred, revealing more and more light beams. Arthur too hits the enemy with a spell as Cronk and Haldor gulp down remedies. McColt and the Gray Wizard look on, both stoic, both waiting their turn. Psh. That would be if you were a logical person and capable of reading. ( )
-
Well, they are the best artifact in the game so far. +10 power is the same as upgrading your weapon 10 times, which would cost swils 1750 gold for one of his weapons. Add the fact that it effects BOTH his weapons, and has no negative effects... my Bluehood is 2/5th as good, and costs be 6 ether to wear.

OoC: Sorry, guess it was unfair to assume you'd know the unlisted type of Ancient. Here is the type's introduction.

I also hosted a Heroica Quest, and participated in one as well. Woohoo!! It's easy, you just don't sleep.

Not really worth it. Suzanne Collins' first series is much more worth it!! It addresses the same issues, but has better characters and better setting. I'm actually kind of sad that the second series got so much attention opposed to the first. I did love the second book of the Hunger Games, but the first was only decent... and the third...

Heroica RPG - Quest #40: The Strivvian Job
Zepher replied to Scubacarrot's topic in The Heroica Archive
"Alright then, this round should be easy. Nyx, Atramor, Ogre, would you all join me in attacking Buggerer? If we hit him, he'll be hurt badly, which we could use, and we may get some poison back into his system, or that flail of your's may rattle him, Atramor. If he tries to come at us, the Witch's spells ought to hurt him badly. While we're doing that, Rufindel and Ellaria can patch whoever is most damaged up. The crew can get rid of our more damaged enemies, namely that Rat, Bosun, and Orc B. That hexed fellow will take on one of his own, and then Atramor and I get to swing a few more times. Sound good? Lorenzo, Bob, take out Orc B. If he's down when you get to him, take on that Rat." Boomingham charges Buggerer from the front row with his King of the Desert. Battle Order Boomingham Atramor Lorenzo Bob Skrall Nyx Christian Ignacio Jacob Mac Ellaria Rufindel -

Sticking my neck out for something I believe in. Even though doing it scares me a little. Hinckley, Shadows, do not do this in this thread. Not playing the blame game. Don't know what happened behind the scenes on either end. But I'd really prefer to not see you fight over this. You are both members I like and respect a lot. I don't want to see a fight. Not even remotely interested in it. Bear in mind you played a game online. It was a game. It was fun. Both of you had fun. I saw you both admit it. That was over a month of fun. Now, ask yourselves what this fight will pay off in. Probably anger. Probably... anger? Can you think of anything else? I can't. I literally cannot think of a single other thing this will end in other than hurt feelings and anger. What could you possibly gain? A piece of text that either stays the same, or changes to say you won a game online that you had fun playing either way? The goal of mafia is to have fun. You both had fun. Why also experience anger for literally no reason? Fighting will gain you literally nothing. It is ridiculous to throw away a good experience in favor of a bad one, particularly when the bad one gains you nothing. Think ahead to the end result of this fight and see if it's worth the anguish. That's my two cents. If you really feel like having this asinine fight that will end the fun and start the anger, don't do it in this thread. I had fun playing with both of you, and I don't want that fun to end for something I could care less about, such as who won, or if you wrote the rules exactly the way you meant them. Sorry if that's harsh, but that's the reality of things. One of my beliefs in life is that you should measure each of your actions. What do you put in and get out. This fight looks like you put in anger, and get out anger. That's not something I would invest in.

Only a remedy. Erdy might be able to nurture it out of you, I'm pretty sure Druids can remove bad effects.

Hey, don't worry Shadows! At least Felix Fox won this rou- Oh. On a side-note, you know you were straight up torturing me by using that thread after you had killed me. I KNEW you had stabbed me in the back, and then I watched you string Whitefang along. But it was actually really impressive. You have a lot of emotion. That part where you said you stayed up all night thinking about it, and you thought you knew the scum... I ACTUALLY do that as town. Very believable. Also, all the thread names were awesome this game. Thank you to everyone for your wit.
